QMany
“I want to sincerely apologize for my comments from two years ago which became public today," Pelini said in a statement. "I take full responsibility for these comments. They were spoken in a private room following the Ohio State game. I was venting following a series of emotional events which led to this moment. That being said, these comments are in no way indicative of my true feelings. I love it here in Nebraska and feel fortunate to be associated with such a great University and fan base. I again apologize to anyone whom I have offended.” Well done. Quote Link to comment
Whistlebritches
It may have already been brought up but....How long would Pelini even want to continue coaching at NU if this mess blows over? I'd be emailing my resume to every school that might have an opening as HC or DC and get the hell out of Lincoln. He clearly doesn't like the amount of public scrutiny that he faces. This is an offense that gets you immediately terminated from virtually any other job. You can't tell your 'customers' (for lack of a better word) to eff off and not expect repercussions. I'd guess most of us at some point in time have said something similar about the general public and as long the boss doesn't hear it, you're in the clear. Quote Link to comment

Harvey Perlman, Chancellor: "I am aware of the publication of Coach Pelini's comments, I am disappointed and in discussions with Shawn Eichorst about addressing the issue." Shawn Eichorst, Director of Athletics: “I am disheartened and disappointed by the 2011 comments published today attributed to Coach Pelini about our dedicated and passionate fans and supporters. I have spoken with Chancellor Perlman and I have addressed the situation with Bo and expressed our deep concern." Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Maybe if our stadium wasn't full of only blue hairs, since they are the only ones that can afford season tickets, people would stay for the whole damn game... as for Pelini, don't let that door hit you on the way out, and take your boy Martinez with you!! So now we're dragging Taylor into this? Get the f#*k off our board dickwad I need a break. Go for it. 3 Quote Link to comment
gotchman
You think there is one coach out there that doesnt say the F bomb.. And he does make a valid point. We do have a stadium full of fair weather fans. That have sold out every seat since 1962. Do you know the meaning of "Fair Weather Fan"? You should check it out before sounding even more stupid. 1 Quote Link to comment

EbylHusker
Pretty sure every coach with a passionate fanbase has gone off on the fans and media in private. Probably many times. This isn't a big deal to me, but it will take meltdown mode to an extreme level for most Husker fans. Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
Forced or not, works for me, let's move on from this stupid moment in Husker history. Quote Link to comment

TK34
I'm glad I'm not friends with a lot of you. I say worse things than this about people I like all the time (my mom, my priest, my infant children, etc.) It's called venting. Also, right before he says the things a bunch of you are getting the vapors over, he said something to the effect of, "I was thinking . . .", which makes it sound as though he was confessing a momentary lapse in the face of some crappy treatment by quite a few fans and local media. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit. Some of you should look inside yourselves and see if you are football fans or just really like drama. Liking drama is OK. They have tons of TV shows for you (Kardashians, Real Housewives). If your a football fan, then chill out, root for your team and hope they win the rest of their games. 1 Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
I say we just spin this against the perpetrator and espn and all the likes, ignore it, and get back to football. 1 Quote Link to comment
