kchusker_chris
Sean Callahan saying in a radio show around here that Aflava's future with the program is in serious question. MARCUS Newby's future is also in doubt. ...uhg. well, there went that potential depth at LBer we finally were forming. out of the 7 LBers in the last 2 classes I think we'll have 3 left next year. Good ones in Rose, Bandera's at least. Quote Link to comment

hskerholic
@HuskerExtraBC: Marcus Newby isn't here but Pelini said it's because of an an NCAA rule about bowl travel due to when he enrolled. #Huskers Quote Link to comment

Count 'Bility
All he mentioned was that they were pretty high risk in terms of academic eligibility from the get go. I should rephrase how I worded that comment. He said Aflava's is in doubt. Newby's is in question. Quote Link to comment

Good ones in Rose, Bandera's at least. I think it would be four (Anderson, Love, Rose, Banderas). It would hurt to lose Afalava and/or M. Newby. I had heard great things about Newby. We can't afford to lose any depth. Quote Link to comment
TonyStalloni
Isn't Trevor Roach back next season if his knee heals? I thought he was in the mix for this year till he was injured early in fall ball? Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
I don't see Marcus Newby going anywhere. He just didn't make the trip due to NCAA rules based on when he enrolled. No need for over-speculation. Quote Link to comment
Hooked on Huskers
The most important aspect was Moss. Probably he left the team permanently. The key thing, "we'll see"...... usually bad news. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirts007
Grades should never be an issue. I've had plenty of players in my classes and they get special treatment any way you look at it. Hell they can take tests in tutor rooms if they feel the need. Thus they can cheat because there are no supervisors. Quote Link to comment

I would bet the "we'll see" comment applies a lot more to Afalava and the walk-ons than Moss. 1 Quote Link to comment

It'sNotAFakeID
I think the Moss issue is being a bit overblown. He plays and he's played despite Bo knowing about his indecent exposure. I'm betting Moss will get fined, and that will be that. As for Afalava, I think it would hurt to lose him, especially considering that we'd lose him due to grades--something that can easily not be a problem if you just put forth a small amount of effort. Marcus Newby would hurt as well, but it sounds like he's not in Florida because of an NCAA rule, not anything that he's done. All in all, I think it's not going to be as big of a story as we're thinking. Quote Link to comment
