QMany
“People can go to the state that they want to live in,” Rep. Robert Pittenger (R-NC) told reporters Tuesday morning when asked if people with pre-existing conditions could be charged much more under the American Health Care Act. “States have all kinds of different policies and there are disparities among states for many things: driving restrictions, alcohol, whatever,” he continued. “We’re putting choices back in the hands of the states. That’s what Jeffersonian democracy provides for.” 3 Link to comment
knapplc
That's from the very loftiest tower of elitism. It's also, if I remember correctly, what our old friend True2theRed had to do because of his son's condition. It's part of the reason he doesn't post here anymore. Link to comment
knapplc
So... they want to bankrupt Americans, tie them to their debt, and basically make us indentured servants, constantly working with no ability to escape from under someone's thumb. Remember when Obamacare was this awful thing that we just HAD TO kill because the Republicans had a better alternative? Here it is. There's a reason neither Ryan nor Trump want their name attached to this mess like Obama with the ACA. It's going to ruin Americans' lives. Just don't get sick, kids! 2 Link to comment

We're going to need them. Our lives aren't worth cutting into the bottom line of big business. Between what you described and the video of this Rep saying people "lead good lives and who do things the right way" don't deserve to pay more to subsidize the unhealthy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTS_uiVU9PU The hubris with which these people play with people's lives like its a game their team needs to win is sickening. If this thing goes through, I hope as many of them lose their jobs as possible. 2 Link to comment
RedDenver
What a great comment.... I guess the rest of us aren't obligated to pay to protect Joe Walsh, his family, or his property. Cut the police, firefighters, military, etc. and let Joe Walsh fend for himself. /sarcasm 2 Link to comment

Danny Bateman
Spiro, Andy Slavitt and Dan Diamond are excellent resources of HC news on Twitter. Be warned that the first two approach things from a pro-ACA perspective. Link to comment
Fru
Dude doesn't even worry about paying his own child support, why would a child born with a heart defect concern him? 2 Link to comment

Be warned that the first two approach things from a pro-ACA perspective. They're going to vote before the CBO scores it. That way the moderates that vote yes can feign surprise that it kicks millions off insurance that they were granted by the ACA. Link to comment
Moiraine
https://twitter.com/SteveRattner/status/859493919981281282 I'm not sure I understand this. Is it saying women over 40 who want to become covered and have had a baby have to pay the $17k premium? Link to comment
