Throwing out all of the legit discussion of an 8 team playoff, would our (those of us on this message board) input be as lively on the topic if it had been Memphis, or Toledo that had the undefeated record as opposed to UCF? jaws
It is 2018 and I still can't believe that we have this dumb way of figuring out a national championship in D1 FBS football. This should have been fixed 40 years ago. Quote Link to comment
Cdog923
FCS has had a playoff for decades, and managed to get the two best teams in the title game this year. There's too much money wrapped up in bowl games and the CFB playoff to ever reset it to something that is both fair AND makes sense. Quote Link to comment
HuskerNation1
I didnt watch the game but saw this morning that Bama won the SEC championship game in overtime. That puts the SEC at 5-6 this bowl season and the BIG at 7-1. 4 Quote Link to comment

Yes, but the two best teams last year played in the semi-final, NDSU-JMU. But I get the point. Quote Link to comment
Crusader Husker
Just remember, this committee will screw up a play off of 8 as well. The end of the day, not playing the SEC championship game helped Alabama. They got a lot of players healthy. Let go back to the pre-BCS era! <ducks for cover> 1 Quote Link to comment

This is true; the title game would have at least had 2 vs. 4 last year had a certain someone not used all the luck in the world to break up the party. Quote Link to comment

Gage County
It's interesting how many people refuse to call the best team in college football the national champion. 1 Quote Link to comment
Guy Chamberlin
Didn't plan to watch, but that was a pretty good game. Quote Link to comment
