The P&R Plague Thread (Covid-19)

Some Trumpists want an 'intervention' now that trump showed support for the vaccine.

Quote

Ardently pro-Trump radio host Wayne Allyn Root wants to stage an “intervention” with Donald Trump over the ex-president’s support for the COVID-19 vaccine. “He needs an intervention from a friend,” Root explained this week on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ InfoWars program, adding that Trump is “in total delusion.” Root continued: “He’s been right on everything except this issue. He’s so horribly wrong on this issue, and the best way to put it, ironically, is that he’s dead wrong, because people are dying!” Root continued. “When everyone I know dies, you are getting the blame, President Trump!” This is not the first time a TrumpWorld ally has melted down over his recent praise for the COVID-19 vaccine, as both Jones and Jan. 6 “Stop the Steal” organizer Ali Alexander turned on the ex-president over the vaccinations. The drama hit close to home late last week, as anti-vax protesters showed up at Trump’s New York hotel and called him a “fraud.”

noooo...the right hasn't been trying to disuade people from getting the vax.

Sooooo…near everyone here calls Trump “dear leader” and  his admin helped usher in the vaccine, he has been pro vaccine, Senate minority and House minority leaders have advocated for the vaccine yet the right has been trying to dissuade proper from getting vax because the internet goofs on the far end of the spectrum are crazy??

This long thread is worth reading.  We have a tough couple months ahead especially the unvaxxed and our health care workers who have to deal with them.  But there, hopefully, appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel as immunity builds and supplies like Paxlovid catch-up after this current surge.

Has Trump actually told people not to get the vax? He is so dang proud of operation warp speed, and touted it in final days of the election, it’s hard to believe he was anti-vax. Maybe he was just vindictive with the election loss and solely focused on staying in the WH. Is the criticism that he has not promoted getting the shot since leaving office? Maybe he didn’t want Biden to get any credit for the vaccine doing good. That would sound about right for him.

OK, I found Jen's tweet funny.  You know she's trolling MAGA heads.

On the flip side.....if Trump says this and he's always claimed his administration did such a great job helping get the vaccine developed...bla bla bla.....Why does Fox News and MAGA heads preach to NOT get it?

Because untreated mental illness and cult-like brainwashing is a hell of a thing to overcome.

Oh, and there's substantial profit in keeping the (willfully) ignorant plied.

Great find, and thanks.

I'll say it before, and I'll say it again--at this point, if you choose to not be vaccinated and can be vaccinated, people shouldn't be admitted to a hospital bed or receive treatment. They can go home and try their luck with horse paste and drinking bleach at this point--I have zero sympathy for these Herman Cain wannabes.

Maybe when they start seeing their colleagues die off due to their (willful) ignorance, they'll wisen up, get vaccinated, and quit being morons (about COVID).

Trump has a history of being very verbal about vaccinations and their "harm (years of spouting autism tied to childhood vaccines). His official comments on the covid vaccinations have (shockingly) been more nuanced "people dont' trust that I lost the election and they don't trust the Biden administration telling them to get this vaccine".

Yes, his ego being tied in to Operation Warp Speed has tempered his public statements a lot.  But his carefully chosen inoculation in private, the year long debate about how this virus was just like the flu and was no big deal; that there were only a handful of cases and that the issue would end soon when the weather warms/when china stops letting people go to the US/when all the infected mexicans stop crossing the border/big to do about masks etc did incredible harm in a very partisan and conspiracy seeded population.

He was/is an incredibly "influential" person when it comes to impacting the anti-vax influencers on social medial - and even though he knew it, refused to say anything in favor of the vaccine until last week.  He has always been very public about his feelings that children don't get that sick, thus they should not be vaccinated.

So no - there may not be statements from him directly saying "dont' do the shot" but yes, he was the most major inflencer on people who adopted and pushed those theories.

Good news - unless you are a trump supporting, covid denying, vaccine antagonist.   Hopefully we will see the end of this in a couple of months.

Speaking of which.  Apparently this antivaxxer's husband or friend is at the hospital with pneumonia from Covid while she's out protesting the jab while infected.  In the second video you can hear whoever she's talking to telling her to get Ivermectin, and don't forget the vitamin D and zinc with plenty of sleep.  Then rub some dirt on it. You'll be fine!!

And yes she's MAGA.  Pro-life amirite?

As long as your consistent with the fat asses, type 2 diabetics, and smokers then we are all good with this.
