Frost Warning has been issued

The onside kick absolutely unforgivable call totally pissing away momentum, complete debacle that you absolutely cannot do with the way that game was going.

The line is easily now drawn. I see how Frost does through October. That’s it, perform or bust. Make it absolutely clear to him. I actually thought Whipple, CT, and the receivers were good. Except the last one we drop for an INT of course. The defense was awful as well as line play on both sides of the ball. No to little hits on the QB, over 500 yards by NW!? We have an absolute knack for making average QB’s look like Heisman contenders.

Again assess at end of October. We have a guy on staff Mickey Joseph who knows what time it is. It’s not 1995 and no current kids care about a program 10 years before they were born. I’d look hard at Mickey as a recruiter and potential leader of the program. If it goes south in the next 2 months, you have Mickey as a safe play if you can’t pull in a major name like Stoops or Petersen.

That’s it.  Take the emotion out of it.   Git R Done has never meant more.

You don't hire someone who has never been a head coach at a major program at this point. We did that with Solich, BC, Pelini, Riley, and now Frost.

The common denominator is glaring. It is time to go after a thoroughbred.

To that I tell you. Good luck.

Sipple isn't pulling any punches

Steven Sipple: It's not even September, and an unpleasant conversation regarding Nebraska's 2022 football season already is upon us

DUBLIN, Ireland — So, here we are, already having this unpleasant conversation.

Yes, we’re absolutely having this godawful conversation, which is especially godawful considering it’s not even September yet.

In the wake of Northwestern’s 31-28 victory against Nebraska on Saturday before 42,699 spectators at Aviva Stadium, Husker fans wonder what Trev Alberts must be thinking. They wonder what Alberts must be thinking because Nebraska fifth-year head coach Scott Frost is on the hottest of hot seats and, well, Alberts is his boss.

Here’s the good news, if you can call it good news: We in fact have some idea of what Alberts is thinking because in late July he told us what he hopes to see from Nebraska’s football program in 2022.

“We want to see a well-coached football team that doesn’t quit, that’s physical and in key moments makes the necessary plays to get us over the hump,” the Husker athletic director said during Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis.

This isn’t a great start to Frost’s hot-seat season in any context.

In fact, it’s a borderline disaster.

In the context of Alberts’ comments, well, Frost is officially fighting an uphill battle.

Frost is likely done, in Trev's mind, at this point.

Watch for this: Trev will hold Scott accountable for fissures/fractures in the locker room or coaches' offices.  This is a clear shot a Whipple from a man, for all intents and purposes, is gone.   Then you have his best friend who runs the whole defense.  I get the $ value to hold when the buyout cuts, but this could get really ugly fast.

Trev may very well pull Scott in, tell him to keep the peace, say nothing, but that he's done on X date.  If he cannot do this as Trev needs, there will be further ramifications.

The comment mirrored the game - terrible.  And for both Scott is accountable.
