Mavric
Odd to move a proven starter at corner to one of our deepest positions. 1 Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
I like it. Kalu moves more like a safety. He is a great tackler and solid in coverage. This could allow us to develop L. Jackson and have quite the tandem at CB. If D. Will can turn the lights on for lamar then this could be a great lineup. They are trying to get the best athletes on the field. Add blades into the mix in a few months and you are talking about some talent in the backend. Quote Link to comment
Red Five
Is this a certainty? Riley sounded like it was just a trial. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
I'm moving to safety too. Helps my piece of mind. 1 Quote Link to comment
theknife
He said it was a "look see", so far from certain at this point. Quote Link to comment

Roger Dorn
More like "Kalu moving to safety for one practice so everyone relax before we start burning couches" 1 Quote Link to comment
Redux
The window between signing day and the spring game is an odd one here on Huskerboard. Mountains are made out of molehills, people turn on one another for things like grammar and weird folk pop up out of the wood work. Quote Link to comment
spurs1990
If this were a final landing spot I think it would have to speak at least partially to how confident the coaches are in the corners that were behind Kalu. Our safeties are decent so it's not like it'd be a move out of desperation for that spot. Nice to have talented pieces to make moves like this to try and maximize talent. Â Interesting to see how long the move lasts. Don't want to use too many reps in a new defense on a position he won't end up doing. Quote Link to comment
LumberJackSker
Was he practicing with the 1st or 2nd team? Who did he replace when in there? Quote Link to comment
lo country
I thought it was more of a "let's see how it works" so that we can try and get more athletes on the field. Perhaps the coaches see something in Kalu at safety in the new scheme that plays more to his strengths in that scheme. If it means getting more speed on the field, I'm all for it. Hell, if he could actually get a pass rush, move him to DE! Quote Link to comment
