  1. I don't think there's anything to that other than BigRedN insisting that the sky is falling everywhere he looks.

  2. I don't think anyone thinks the fluid strike zone is what beat us. You guys are the #1 team for a reason, and you just outlasted us. Plus Kopps is a beast. But that strike zone did change, it played a role in the game, and it's worth mentioning.

  3. I would still prefer eight. I think 12 is a bit much but it sure seems like that will be the "compromise". I can see the logic about an 8-team playoff leaving less room for at-large bids. But I think that's only on paper. In practice, I don't think that's really an issue. At least two if not three of the current four spots are pretty much "automatic" bids anyway, in that they go to the best conference champions. Notre Dame would have a much better chance to make an 8-team playoff with two at-large bids than a four-team playoff with four "at-large" bids so their argument is pretty lame. Same goes for the #2 SEC team. And the best G5 team getting an auto bid into an 8-team playoff would pretty much handle that. So I think 12 is probably a bit diluted but it sure sounds like that what everyone thinks it will take to do something different.

  4. If you thought the K zone was fluid last night, especially late in the game, you were right.

  5. Yep. Not to mention that this is private citizen Hillary, who hasn't been in politics for five years. The right always tries to make it seem like she's current & equal to sitting members of congress because it makes it seem like an equivalency.

  6. This is nowhere close to the same as 2016 - 2017. Trump and Republicans literally trying to tear down the bedrock foundation of our elections to try to get Trump back in office. This directly resulted in an attack on our capital. Trump is still believing that he can find fraud and be put back in office. Nowhere has the Democrats done anything close to this. At no point did I ever remember Hillary claiming she should be put in office or pushing for fraudulent audits of voting machines....etc.

  7. This would probably reduce the amount of early P5 vs P5 OOC games early in the season. However, a great P5vP5 matchup in December sounds a lot better than a early season OOC game that is all hype and usually doesn't produce a great game or indicator on which team will be better later in the year. If you are going to 12 team just remove one early season game.

  8. Complete opposite of what Sean Bock (Iowa 247 guy) said, but Bock is a N-hater/Eye-homer to the extreme. He probably still thinks Fidone is going to LSU.

  10. Helluva season and ride with this squad. Arkansas will be battle tested for damned sure. Kopps finally lived up to his repertoire and delivered an awesome performance. The mistakes finally came to bite NU and the deeper team won, also big benefit of winning game 2 of a regional. I don’t know if Arkansas wins more than 6 if they played 10 times - this NU team can hang. Program establishing weekend. Bolt is a hot commodity and is going to attract more talent - the future is bright. My petty comment of the weekend, those broadcasters need Clorox to rinse out the slurpage of Arkansas.

  11. So apparently somebody is trying to make a new recruiting site. That somebody being Shannon Terry, who created both Rivals and 247Sports. He's hired Ivan Maisel, who was ESPN.com's first college football writer until he was recently laid off. Chad Simmons, formerly of Rivals, is director of recruiting. Maybe Nate Clouse ends up there? Hey, we've kinda needed another voice since Scout went bye-bye. It's supposed to launch just before the season starts. https://www.on3.com/ https://www.nashvillepost.com/sports/sports-recruiting-website-on3-com-latest-venture-for-shannon-terry/article_f203bfe8-c351-11eb-8632-571311f9af42.html https://www.on3.com/news/ivan-maisel-new-job-is-to-make-on3-com-the-college-sports-destination-site/ https://www.on3.com/news/chad-simmons-joins-on3-com-as-director-of-recruting/

  12. He should have after the recounts and lawsuits failed to show a vote change in December. What continued assault on our democracy?

  13. One of the arguments of the current imbalance of the college football world being so skewed to Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, etc. is that these are the teams that keep getting in to the playoffs, so they're the teams that keep getting the top recruits. You want to go to the playoff? You're not going to Michigan, or to USC, or Washington, because they never make it. You go to one of these three, or Notre Dame. Diluting the playoffs, the argument goes, means more schools have a chance, so the talent doesn't pool to the top like it has the past several years. Maybe that works. I don't know. For certain Clemson, Alabama & OSU are going to continue to pull in top classes. But maybe after a few years things change.

  14. TBH I don’t care what they do with CFB playoffs anymore. I may be an old grumpy get off my lawn guy but I didn’t really have a problem with no playoff. It was part of what made CFB different and special. Plenty of fodder for fan bickering, coulda-woulda-shoulda and what ifs. 4 teams isn’t enough if you want a true playoff and 12 seems a bit too much. Until Nebraska starts getting sniff of it I just don’t care. Might be a few games I would watch but personally Ive had enough of seeing Bama, Clemson and tOSU curb stomp other teams. Lack of parity would seem to be a larger concern than feeding more teams to the lions.

  19. This is a good callout. And it explains why we performed so poorly in past Tourney appearances. Regardless, we're in a good spot now with Bolt, thankfully, and I can't wait to see what next season brings.

  20. Honestly Husker fans, this is the best endorsement of the year. In the first full year of the Bolt era we made Arkansas fans so uncomfortable they are coming to our board to b!^@h about it, minutes after they beat us. Here's to many more years of us making you very uncomfortable Hawgs, Let's do it in Omaha next time.

  21. WASHINGTON (AP) — Special counsel Robert Mueller said Wednesday that charging President Donald Trump with a crime was “not an option” because of federal rules, but he used his first public remarks on the Russia investigation to emphasize that he did not exonerate the president. “If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so,” Mueller declared. https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-ap-top-news-crime-politics-north-america-94323cfc164c4759ba6bf84ad2a46203

  22. Literally everyone here understand Trump won the election. Doesn't mean Russian meddling should be discounted and isn't a threat. I think it's safe to say we would have had the same opinion had Russia supported Hillary.

  25. Ok then, 2016 and 2020 were not similar. If Trump graciously concedes, we don't have January 6th or the continued assault on our democracy. Protecting democracy should override policy differences 100@%. Regroup, come up with a platform and try again.

  32. Unless there are no auto-bids for P5 champs, this wouldn't be accurate. Oregon won the PAC-12 and would get an auto-bid. Using 2020 is tough with how wonky the season was.

  34. You might think it dropped but it didn't. There were just more OLBs than ILB. They also re-grouped the Class of 2020. But for 2019, there were 43 ILBs rated higher than 85 (Martin's current rating on 247). There were 73 OLBs rated higher than 85. When they get combined it pushes the ILBs down a lot farther than it pushes the OLBs.

  35. I think that's fair. Erstad's teams just seemed to play super tight and on edge which is fine, really hard to sustain though. I'm not sure an Erstad team comes back against Northeastern on Friday.

  36. Onion article... Spencer Rattler Takes Pay Cut To Help Sooners Recruit Better Players NORMAN, OK—Hoping to make a personal sacrifice to aid Oklahoma’s run at the National Championship, star quarterback Spencer Rattler announced plans Monday to take a pay cut to help the Sooners recruit better players. “I’m happy to reconstruct my weekly cash handoffs if that’s what it takes for us to land top recruits,” said Rattler, who revealed plans to accept a mid-sized sedan from the university instead of a luxury sports car. “Obviously, I want the security of a long-term deal, but it’s important for us to pay these young guys. I chose to come back this year to compete for a championship, and I want to make sure we have enough money to pursue big names in the transfer portal.” At press time, Rattler invited a troubled walk-on receiver to live with him at his palatial estate.

  40. At some point extending the length of the season will provide diminishing returns. That would mostly be at the expense of the players while the schools would bring in extra revenue with the extra games. I am all for taking a regular season game away if there is an expanded playoff. By the way, with a 12 team model, shouldn't the NCAA run the thing like all the other divisions?
