  2. Good for you, but it's not a competition. Other people getting help for something you did on your own is no threat to you.

  3. What's to say that handing the ball off to the running back would have given different results? Nothing. Why should they have punted? They were trying to win and sometimes during that process you take calculated risks, sometimes those risks pan out and sometimes they don't. I'll never fault someone for the kind of effort Hardman put forth regardless of the outcome of said effort.

  5. If that don't work, then Dylan needs to wear #15, DK needs to wear #18, and we need a slogan like Unfinished Business, and Nash leads Day by Day before the game. And I wear my cornhead at home watching the games, and my wife throws me hotdogs wrapped in foil, from her spot the kitchen to me on the couch. Should do it.

  6. Having a functioning society is about not always getting the good deal. Sometimes we can let others get the good deal instead of ourselves.

  8. I have a question. How, if at all, has your life or finances been negatively affected by the Biden Presidency? My portfolio returns haven’t been as good as during the Trump years. Budget Costs have risen much more than after tax take home pay has increased. I, along with my wife, saved for our kids, while the kids worked hard in school to get scholly’s and jobs to save and pay to get though college with no loan debt. For what?? To have Joe and his minions say we are suckers for doing things the right way? Sorry but I will never vote for him for that reason alone. Other than that, as I’ve said many times before, local politics affects my life much more than Presidential politics on a daily basis.

  10. Funny how Orange Man Bad can go on Fox and call people anything that pops into his head and they don't bat an eye, but calling him a "coward" is verboten.

  11. Yes sir! It just seems like politics is one big perpetual election cycle with little time to govern because “it’s an election year, or the next election is starting”. Also, the 5% of Iowa caucus voters and 20-30% of NH primary voters have way way way too much influence on who moves forward because of the momentum aspect and the whole people want to back a winner mindset that perpetuates politics.

  13. Every football team I've ever watched has at some point, thrown the ball on 3rd and short. Like it or not, throwing on 3rd down, even 3rd and short, is a thing. A team can screw up on 3rd and short when running or passing the ball. Crap happens sometimes.

  14. Jeebus, I am super excited to see Dylan this Fall, but this is a bit much. No matter how talented he is, he will have several bumps in the road this coming season as a true freshman.

  16. Like most people, your portfolio probably went up under Biden to a historic stock market high in December 2021, then took a substantial dip that fall, then regained most or all of its value in recent months and is now trending upward. If we're being honest, the stock market has been on roughly the same journey under Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Obama, Trump, and Biden, with temporary craters for the dot com bust and the global derivative meltdown, and a surprisingly small blip for Covid. There's a lot of crazy s#!t going on in the world, and your dealbreaker is........student loan forgiveness?

  17. Thought this was funny. Related to all of our Solich curse posts. I’m not superstitious, but I am a little “stucious” Both Jeff Daniels and Peyton Manning were in attendance to watch the Detroit Lions' thrilling 31-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, their second playoff win this season after winning just one the previous 66 years. If you recall, during a Season 3 episode of "Peyton's Places" that aired in October 2022, Daniels and Manning attempted a ritual on the Ford Field turf to end the "Curse of Bobby Layne," which is often blamed for the Lions' decades of futility. Maybe ... they ... actually did it?! The Lions are 22-8 since “lifting the curse”.

  18. Here you go buddy, link is timestamped: https://youtu.be/GsMBFqrM2Ls?t=299 Here's him saying Go Big Red last year https://x.com/Buccaneers/status/1570442328916914176?s=20 Here he is talking about his time at Nebraska just a few years ago https://saturdaytradition.com/nebraska-football/nebraska-great-lavonte-david-talks-opportunity-to-play-in-super-bowl-with-fellow-former-huskers-ndamukong-suh-khalil-davis/ He came back and got his degree in 2021. His relation with Nebraska is fine, and this isn't a slight against Nebraska, but a gesture of gratitude towards every place that has helped him along the way. He's also had his high school repped in starting lineups before. I don't get why our fanbase is sometimes so determined to look for slights against us.

  19. By Jove! We’ve discovered the real source of the curse. B1GRED hasn’t been wearing his cornhead during games and his wife’s der weinerschlinger isn’t cutting it. Solich curse…pfffft.

  21. I'll never fault someone for the kind of effort Hardman put forth regardless of the outcome of said effort No offense to you whatsoever, but that was literally the worst thing Mecole could have done. It was first and goal. Get tackled at the 1, and allow Mahomes and Co to have a couple more chances at the end zone. The only time someone should reach like that while getting tackled in traffic is fourth down or with little/no time left.

  23. Oh my god, when state wrestling moved to Omaha...this is all us coaches here in Omaha heard from our hill-William coaching friends in central and western Nebraska. "I am not going there, sorry, but THE CRIME!" With that said, I have had to to go conferences for teaching and matches for wrestling out in central and sort of western NE and I did not want to go there at all...mostly because of the drive.

  25. The best thing NE Dems could do, is vote in Rep primaries. Most rural folks are going to coalesce around the "R" in a general election, might as well dope them into voting for a more liberal candidate that isn't a dips#!t. It would also bring actual Republicans back to rationality.

  28. I don’t think they need that much time. Split it into 4-5 regions of similar influence. That’s how each state matters. The entire primary process shouldn’t be more than 2 months. Maybe May and June. Done. Or, a single day like @Archy1221 proposed. We have to cut down on the length of our elections.

  32. I used to be a music snob. Not like CDs vs records and that stuff. But I was a snob about metal bands and who was metal and who was not metal, stuff like that. What about you guys? I know big ones are BBQ, Smoking, beers, booze, Film vs Movies...cars, trucks? I really don't think I am snobby about much anymore...maybe cell phones? I would only ever buy an iphone.

It's kinda like the heated steering wheel and (to me more important) cooled seats. Do you need them? Absolutely not. Is your life better when you have access to them? Yes.

  36. Walmart did close up and sort of barricade up one of the nights. I know because I went there to buy a huge handle of cheap vodka and they were closing blocking the doors. So a lot of people must have been worried. I just remember being worried that I would have to go to a different store to get my vodka. Luckily, I was able to get it! Moral of the story: Always have booze at home. Wait...why did he think that just your house would be targeted and burnt down? Or did he just mean the houses in Elkhorn.

  37. You seem to sum up a lot of the HuskerBoard sentiment. You may say I'm a dreamer, but it would be interesting if more people voted for what they far prefer, and found out they were in a majority that had been giving a minority way too much power.

  39. Right Wing media is the greatest existential threat to this country. Ted Johnson sincerely thought he wanted a uniter not a divider. It didn’t last long. “You know what made a big difference? A lot of the ads” that he saw mainly on Fox News, he said.

  40. Felt bad for Buffalo NY Bills. Played really good. I even ordered 100 wings for the watch party. Great game. But Mahomes and the Chiefs defense...................You just tip your cap to them because they just win, especially in post season. Never count them out! Srsly their defense this year has been tight. One of the best in the league. And they have Mahomes and MaAuto.... Plus Andy Reid. Having said that..... I think my dawg aint scarred or worried. Give me the MVP and the Baltimore at Home. Was a nice run for the Chiefs. Lamar got this.
