  3. This is a direct attempt to regain AAU accreditation. It's the same university, same research, same expenditures. But we'll be reporting it in a different way, which should help regain AAU membership. New research reporting model will elevate University’s national competitiveness The University of Nebraska will be instantly more competitive with the nation’s leading research institutions under a new reporting model announced today by Interim President Chris Kabourek that will unify the research achievements of NU’s flagship university and its medical center. Beginning with the FY2023 National Science Foundation’s Higher Education Research and Development Survey – the national gold standard for research rankings – the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Nebraska Medical Center and Office of the President will begin reporting their federally funded research expenditures as one combined figure. That survey will be released in November. Until now, Nebraska’s institutions have reported research figures separately – making Nebraska unlike virtually every other institution in the Big Ten and in the Association of American Universities, the coalition of the nation’s most prestigious research universities that Nebraska aims to be readmitted to. Among the 18 universities in the expanding Big Ten Conference, all but Nebraska are AAU members. The National Science Foundation approved Nebraska’s proposal to report research as one “University of Nebraska” figure after reviewing Nebraska’s commitment to making structural changes that will align it with the rest of the Big Ten and AAU. The current HERD survey ranks UNMC 120th in the nation in federally funded research and development. UNL is No. 122, second to last in the Big Ten and the only Big Ten school other than Oregon that is not in the top 60. Reported together, along with the Office of the President, which includes system-wide entities like the National Strategic Research Institute, Nebraska vaults to approximately 64th in the country – closer to the pack of its Big Ten peers.

  5. We're going to be in New York for the Super Bowl, so we were figuring out where to make plans. Now, based on the results, I think we're honestly just not that interested in watching the game. We have a family of Giants, Bills, and Broncos fans on this trip. I am just so tired of the Chiefs, the crap with Mahomes and Kelce yesterday, the T-Swizzle coverage, etc. I hate to say it, but we may actually give the game a miss this year, or at the very least just be casual observers. Seems weird, I know, but that's kind of the sense we have.

  9. She's come out publicly against right wing politicians. She's a serial dater. A strong woman who's relatively private. Didn't like the raw deal she got with her old label and did something about it. She's the devil! She's on top, so it's the cool thing to hate now. Like Nickelback in the 20 oughts.

He also doesn't play in Utah too often. His knee has been bothering him, but he has been playing on it against the bad teams so...

  16. During the regular season Lamar Jackson threw 457 times this season for 3678 yards. Tyler Huntley threw another 37 times for 203 yards. Jackson and Huntley collectively threw 27 TD passes. The Ravens ran the ball 541 times for 2661 yards and 26 TDs. 494 pass attempts and 541 run plays, that's a pretty balanced offense and to say that the run is what got them to the game today ignores their success in the passing game. The Ravens averaged 2.76 more pass plays than running plays per regular season game.

  17. Great. Close it for 30 days and tell congress to close the loophole. That would look good and put the spotlight back on the congress. It would also help with the criticism. Pull the trigger man.

If it turns out it's related to any of the other topics already covered here I'll ask that it gets merged. Has this ever happened before? I can't remember ever hearing about such a subpoena.

  23. I really think it is because she is a pop superstar that has entered their realm. I think they would just like it to be focused on the game. For the NFL, it means $$$. New fans. Same for networks. I just don't get the hate. I am a dad, an uncle and a brother to mega Swift fans. I honestly stopped going gaga for celebrities a while ago. I understand it though, and don't care.

  25. Whether she helps Biden or not, is no reason to bag on her IMO. She doesn’t deserve it and quite frankly everyone should be allowed an opinion. Just don’t try and force it down people’s throats, which she isn’t nor hasn’t done. It’s also the macho football Bros, trying to act tough claiming she is ruining the football watching experience. Give me a break. Seeing her on tv for a few seconds a game a couple times a game should have no bearing on your viewing pleasure unless you are just insecure.

  26. It’s really quite stupid. She’s a good role model for young girls, very successful in her own right, doesn’t chase fame, etc…. My guess is they don’t like her because they think she will help help Joe win in 2024. If she was pro-Trump they would love her. Very moronic reasoning.

  36. Keisei Tominaga not getting the NCAA stage in his time here would make me sad. I don't care if it's the play-in game in Dayton. It would be an opportunity. That also begs the question, if the 'Huskers would win the play-in game, would that count as an NCAA win and the P5 outpost without a NCAA tourney win would be no more?

  37. Dan Campbell a big part to blame for losing. Had a couple field goal opportunities for the taking. But he was too dumb to visualize ahead of the game that points can change the scoreboard, instead of going for 4th down over and over. Campbell gave up 6 points (2 FGs). That's on him. And his team would have the right to be pissed at him if he is the leader. But also, Some Lions players dropped passes. Their brilliant OC was a dumbass and got away from the running game with a 3 score lead. How brilliant and dumb can you be? They also had some penalties. They had plays that could have been made, but failed. And when trailing 24-7 with the 2nd half to play, it's pretty amazing the 49ers played so clean that they never got called for holding. Never, not even once. Even when Purdy was in the pocket, and moving slowly and scrambling for yards. No penalties for pick plays, or even defensive holding/PI. Super clean. Like a super bowl invite. The 49ers must have played the ultimate "no penalty on us" 2nd half game ever in a situation that decides who goes to the Super Bowl or not. Congrats 49ers As for Dan Cambell, someone in Detroit needs to have the guts to punch him in the nuts, so hard that he pukes and recognizes a Field goal here, a field goal there, adds points to the scoreboard and helps your team more than going for it on 4th down in field goal territory over and over and over. 3 points is better than No points. 6 points from 2 field golas is also better than no points. He better learn a lesson because you can't be the head of a Lion and just go for it and disregard the consequences. And when you fail, don't give your team and fan base your excuse or your reason the following... "We are playing to win". You cannot lead the way with that point-blank stupidity. And definitely not with this much talent on your team, that played so hard all year, and with so much riding on a game. Go bite a kneecap and eat an apple under a tree this off season. Find some shade. Read a book. Learn and grow from those stupid mistakes you made today in teh NFC championship game.

  38. Did you guys really think Biden was just going to waltz right into a trap Trump's party was very obviously trying to set up for an election year in broad daylight? I mean without a doubt he's not a spry as he used to be. But he's not a moron and he understands the system he's spent decades working in. The bill spells out exactly what we'd do. Ramp up enforcement whenever crossing numbers exceed the designated limits and impose stiffer penalties for repeat offenders. While adding extra immigration judges and other support staff to finally start unclogging of LEGAL immigration system to make it actually functional again. The Speaker is calling on Biden to do something which Trump already tried and was legally determined unlawful by the courts. There is a loophole that is allowing immigrants to LEGALLY claim asylum due to the way the current laws are written. If we don't like it we need to write new laws addressing the matter. Which is solely the job of Congress. Biden can close the border unilaterally just like he can legally authorize use of military force anywhere he wants. He's rightly trying to push Congress to do their damn jobs, just like they've failed to do in both areas for decades.

  39. 10 games left and the next 3 are the 3 highest NET ranked teams left, with 2 on the road. Massive 6-day stretch coming up. Go 2-1 or better and I think the bubble talk is more like what seed can they get. Go 1-2 and they really need to finish strong like 6-1 or better the last 7. Go 0-3 feels like they would probably need to win out and get more than 1 in the B1G tourney. Idk if it is a strong bubble or anything, but feels like 6-4 down the stretch won't cut it.

  40. As Trump and his sycophants in Congress bellow about their stellar border security they really don't have a leg to stand on. Of course the gaslit will argue otherwise but the data shows Biden has sent back a higher percentage of border crossers than Trump did. Trump's policies weren't effective and his wall? LMAO https://www.cato.org/blog/new-data-show-migrants-were-more-likely-be-released-trump-biden 'According to new data published last month, the Biden Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has removed a higher percentage of arrested border crossers in its first two years than the Trump DHS did over its last two years. Moreover, migrants were more likely to be released after a border arrest under President Trump than under President Biden. In absolute terms, the Biden DHS is removing 3.5 times as many people per month as the Trump DHS did. These figures are important for understanding how each administration has carried out border enforcement." The reason why more people are attempting to cross the border is more complex than is being painted here. Economic factors here and in their home countries drive most it and right now we don't have enough workers to man our economy. Political conditions are another big driver. The asylum process is law and I guess if you want, you can promote going against the law. I mean that's Trump's thing for sure. Title 42 became invalid when the Covid Emergency expired. If we were still under that MAGA would be crying about it instead. The bipartisan proposal coming out of the Senate looks like a good starting point but if course MAGA under orders from Trump are going to kill it. That's where your outrage should be pointed.
