Apathy

Volleyball is easy to watch, easy to understand, and takes very good athleticism to play, not to mention a very entertaining sport. Many families grow up with daughter's playing the sport so they are familiar with it. It's also televised. So it's not hard to see why, in a state with no major pro sports, a successful and publicized team get a strong following. Especially when the other mainstay team has been sub par for almost a decade.

How dare she not be a fairweather fan.

Why couldn't anyone be excited for both NC vball game and a bowl game if their favorite program was in it? That is "JaySker" logic.

It's never over in volleyball. It's a momentum game and it can change in a hurry.

Ha. There's been plenty of times I thought matches would never end. I've watched WAY more than my share of volleyball over the last 12 years.

I can live with that. 

Welcome aboard, Mr. Martinez.  But does anyone have info on the injury?  I've started to sift through his thread buy don't really see any details.  What I know: right shoulder injury during Junior basketball that was originally supposed to be healed by the start of football but still caused him to miss his Senior season.  I'm assuming with scholarship offers and the AA game that people have seen him at camps or something.   Just looking for current video since the injury, thanks!

@funhusker I understand it was a torn labrum that was repaired by one of the top ortho surgeons in the nation. He played his junior season with the injury. From what I've heard, he will be good to go and it should not be a concern going forward.

My wife took the lights off our pre-lit fake tree.  There were sections that had gone out, and it was a pain in the ass to figure out the cause, so we just throw on our own lights.  it works so much better.

One of my sons decided to be a Hawkeye fan this year and my wife bought him some shirts.  My wife went to Creighton and joked about giving my other son Creighton shirts for Christmas.

This may be the last year I file my taxes as married...

My daughter is the only onle I have left, and she is cheering the Husker girls on with me now.

He thought their t-shirts looked kind of like a Batman shirt; he's in 2nd grade.  The ass kicking that he witnessed in person didn't help matters any.

I've warned him things are going to be different now and at the moment have him committing to cheering for the Huskers in Lincoln and Iowa in Iowa City (not that it makes things much better).

Im an apple guy for the most part, I just want a change of pace.

I traded in my Pixel XL for a Galaxy Note 8. No comparison. I’m sure the Pixel 2 is better than the original Pixel. But I love the Samsung Note.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Grandparents are so incredible. Next to our parents they are our 'memory holders'. I am happy for you that you got to say goodbye.  May all of the good times with your grandma soothe your heart as you go through this time of loss.

@TonyStalloni Ha, I went to that game. Being good Husker fans willing to help support the local economy we got to the bar nearest the stadium plenty early and literally filled the place with red 2 hours before the UW fans started showing up. Poor Huskie fans looked lost wandering around outside cuz there was absolutely no room for them in their own bar.

@TonyStalloni  Yeah I remember that hit too.  I couldn't believe that Brown gave up his body like that on that hit.  Jamal Lewis was a pretty big back compared to Ralph Brown.

You can do better--found tickets four rows up from the baseline for $50 each. Check the online ticket vendors. 

DO NOT spend $80 on a ticket for those seats.  You could get tickets outside the Devaney Center for face value for most matches.  $80 per ticket is a huge ripoff. That guy should be ashamed.

That's pretty cool. My dad retired from officiating NE high school football probably 7 or 8 years ago. Blown out knees and old age finaly caught up with him haha! He was an umptie and would always come home with bruises and stuff after LBs and TEs took him out.

I totally agree @ladyhawke. It amuses me when people get upset everytime JP talks as if he’s wrong when he’s actually right. Nebraska as a Football program has been soft far too long.

@krc1995 won't know till the 19th. She had a biopsy on Monday to determine if it was cancer or a benign tumor and got the results back today. I'll for sure keep you all updated come the 19th

Hopefully, it's benign but the treatment for breast cancer these days is amazing.  Give her a big hug from us, ok!

Ive got 2 for sale too. I really dont care about eating them too much. More room at least. Im gonna try selling them outside stadium. Hope to get $120 total but would take $100 prolly otherwise i'd rather have the extra room.

I was really considering driving out for the game but daughter has a dang volleyball tournament and it’s homecoming weekend. fml

I just got the Pixel XL a few months ago, so given what I paid for it, I'm locked into that one for awhile unless something happens to it.  Considering that I have countless pairs of 3.5mm headphones/earbuds, I'm a little salty that they decided to go the Apple route and get rid of the 3.5mm jack.

Are you mad about the lack of wireless charging?

@zoogs No. The new iPhone 8's have wireless charging but from watching YouTube video reviews it charges really slow. IMO front facing speakers trumps wireless charging. Wireless charging has been around 2 years now and I've lived without it with no problems.
