Correct, @HuskerInLostWages I did like how Spielman played.  He seemed like the one player out there who was giving a f*ck about the game.  I was wrong about my "garbage time" stats comment.

@ladyhawke I root for TCU and Baylor in the Big 12.  Sometimes I can get behind Iowa State.  I like Texas A&M (SEC, former Big12) and Arkansas (SEC, former SWC).  I also like watching SMU and Houston (former SWC teams).

I root for Iowa State as many of the folks I went to NWMSU were Clone fans. I’m from Missouri so I would root for them and Oklahoma because we were such fun rivals. I don’t root for Colorado. Ever.  

ColoradoHusk I’m glad your family was safe. My daughter lives in Denver but was with family in Missouri when the fires hit. She was texting friends who live in Superior. Thank God they were evacuated.  There were so many who lost their homes. So sad.  

If I'm remembering the play right, the refs ruled his forward progress stopped before the fumble, not that he was down.

It's just weird that they ruled it that way when he's being brought down on a sack.  That call rarely happens.

I spent the the 3rd and 4th quarter playing catch with one of my 2nd grade sons because he thought he should practice to be ready to help the Huskers when he gets older.....I didn't realize NU was in it until the very end.  But my afternoon was awesome playing catch and assuming NU was getting beat 84

@funhusker My 1st grade son is just getting into the Huskers and football. He spent most of the 1st half telling me, "The other team scored again, Huskers are probably going to lose, huh?" and "The other team must have practiced a LOT more than the Huskers, right daddy?" Being a good parent is often an exercise in zen-like control of your emotions.

My B1G conference sweatshirt is a full zipper hoody, so I can easily take it off when I flip over to the Peach Bowl.

UFC fans are so sick of Husker fans.

Nebraska fans are enamored with UCF because it was the closes proxy to Nebraska being successful this year.

It's also the offseason and a dead period for recruiting. We can either talk about UCF or Nebrasketball.

Don't worry. Riley's teams have a knack at getting behind early in a game (usually by multiple scores). Over 65% of snaps by the offense have been while trailing this season.

That's a heck of a stat.

This is one area where both sides of the ball are doing their fair share.......getting us behind early. Who knew that could be a positive.
