How old are you, @Savage Husker ? If you don't mind me asking....
-
@Savage Husker, I totally agree. I'm 30 and this has been my reply when I heard parents bitching about my generation when I was in HS. Why I agree with @B.B. Hemingway about other influences, I also believe that parents still have a lot of control over their children and what they view. I understand you can't keep them locked in a room away from the real world, but you can damn sure monitor what they involve themselves in and if when your kids are doing things that you dont approve of dont be afraid to take their devices away and allow them to have them back once they understand why said involvements are detrimental to them. I am in law enforcement, and I also work in the school system, and I can't tell you how many times Ive seen parents who are afraid to take their kids devices or vehicles, because they are afraid their kids will be mad at them. Your'e not your kids friend you're their damn parent!
Sorry rant over

The sports' journalist justice warriors are out in full force because the Bradley basketball coach did something stupid.

Maybe I see sports journalists differently. Many fans expect the journalists to be fans and be favorable to the "home team", but that's not the job description of the beat writers and reporters. I also think it's tough for them because many of their jobs are in jeopardy because people don't want to pay to read the coverage of their sports teams. Yes, I understand it''s the condition of the market. However, people seem to want to have coverage and hear news of the sports team, but don't want to pay for that news.
-
@ColoradoHusk I have no issue with the profession of sports journalism, and their expectation for others to pay for their work. I do get annoyed with sanctimonious, egotistical way they view their own profession. As a profession, they're some of the most thin-skinned groups I can think of.

@krc1995 stay away from the cans!

Sports journalists either have a career inferiority complex, or they take their jobs way to seriously. Every time one of them does something stupid (like the Belichick selfie guy), they s#!t a brick, and act like it's an attack on their personal character.

Some intentional, overdone proding, but still Bill Maher's 2nd best take. NSFW.

@B.B. Hemingway give Deadpool a try. Thank me later.

@ZRod Yeah, I've been told that before. I may have to do that sometime. More comedic relief than a normal superhero movie, right?

Would somebody get the city of New Orleans a participation trophy, so we can get on with Super Bowl coverage?

I wonder how many more years we're going to keep the best baseball player to ever live, out of the HOF?

@JJ HuskerWithout google, do you know where the name Charlie Hustle originated from?
-
I always thought it was because he had a lot of stolen bases and was one of the first to slide head first. But I looked it up and discovered it was earned in a spring training game when he sprinted to first base after a walk, Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford said there goes Charlie hustle.
I don’t care if he gambled on baseball or not, he belongs in the HOF.

I don't think Bonds was the best ever, but I wouldn't lose sleep over Bonds not getting in. I am a Reds fan and it doesn't bother me one bit that Rose isn't in the HOF. I do find it funny that it took this long to get someone in with an unanimous vote. I like Rivera, but if guys like Williams, Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Bench, Ruth, Young...etc. didn't get a unanimous vote, I don't know why Rivera did. It makes you wonder what goes through some voters minds during the voting process.

It's going to be hilarious when Mahomes throws a pick on one of those unnecessary no look passes.
