Trump Inauguration

Trump did salute one of them near the beginning.

On the video itself (not aimed at you): not all women give a crap whether guys help them out of a car or up stairs.

I really didn't like people overanalysing every little blink Obama made and I don't like it with Trump either. There are plenty of awful things about him. Nitpicking about things like this will just water down all of the legitimate complaints.

Well said, Moiraine. There are plenty of things to criticize Trump for. This may not be everyone's idea of perfect etiquette, but I can't get balled up about any of this.

My takeaway from this was that both Barack and Michelle are such down-to-earth people. Michelle does takes the gift from Melania (nice touch of normalcy from Melania there, I thought), then she gives it to Barack who nonchalantly walks it in to some aide before coming back out for the photo op. They seem really comfortable with who they are, such neat people.

So this is what its come to? Analyzing everything he does. Every move he makes. Every little gesture. Obama even pushed him towards the door at the end lol. sh#t, I might jump off a cliff before these four years is up bc Im already going crazy after two days.

Not saying it makes it a worthwhile tactic, but have you been alive the last 8 years? My God, my cousins were even posting a fake picture of Obama with his left hand over his heart in some random ceremony to prove he was Muslim...

So at least we've risen to the point of posting real video instead of reversed photos.

It's a bad look, but there's just not that much to dissect in opening a door for someone or not. You can say "but of course he didn't", which is a fair knock but not much of an analysis.

I'm not too comfortable with a lot of the ways we bring up Melania, Tiffany, etc. Trump's terrible for a lot of reasons and this video is by no means the master stroke of evidence. That its creator appears to think it was discredits himself more than it does Trump, and as Moiraine mentions it carries this element of paternalism that shouldn't go unchallenged.

Nonetheless, let's please talk about how Trump (clearly) regards women and his very evident ugly treatments of different women in the past. We should all agree, I hope, that his record is both very poor and has shown no signs of changing.

Or that time Obama wore a tan suit? Michelle wore a dress without sleeves? Hillary being propped up by pillows? Donald and his sniffs?

People analyze some really insane things in politics.

And a fear mongering article from a non-credible site won't convince me otherwise.

Quite ironic for a Trump supporter to say.

I do not consider myself a Trump supporter. I consider myself a conservative who was forced to vote for Trump after the sh#t fest that was the primaries.

Edit: my first paragraph was horribly written so I got rid of the damn thing. I hope what I left gets my question across...

Why I decided to vote for Hillary:

Like Kasich, she would respect and uphold the Iran Nuclear Agreement. More than likely making the world a little safer.

Like Kasich, she would openly respect and defend the "law of the land" in Marriage Equality. Not putting good, hard-working families in disarray.

Like Kasich, her main goal wasn't to create chaos in the health markets. They wanted change, but "thought out" change and work to make the system better.

Like Kasich, she wanted to maintain a strong stance on the global stage. America is the most influential nation on the planet, use it to our advantage.

Like Kasich, she seemed mentally stable. :)

(list list isn't all-inclusive of my reasoning, but hopefully shows enough of my though process)

That said, I'm curious why you felt the need, "as a conservative", to vote for Trump?

She has broken numerous laws and is just overall corrupt. I did not want that in office.

This is horrible reasoning when you consider the individual you voted for is more guilty on both counts. Just because you are registered for a political party doesn't mean you have give them blind loyalty.

I dont really get into politics that much, so I dont know everything that went on with Obama being overanalyzed. Seems like the last few months I cant go anywhere on the internet without politics being shoved down my throat so Im kinda just waiting for all this nonsense to die down and not want to hide in a cave for the next four years. I honestly never venture into this section, but its like a bad car accident that you cant look away from haha. But if this stuff did happen to Obama, then it is also ridiculous.

I agree with you Moraine - except there are certainly times I'd expect to be helped out of the car ... one would be my wedding, the other would be when I was being escorted in to take over the White House.

You know there were more than 2 candidates for president, right?

I'm assuming you are talking about Melania here. Don't know who Melina is.

Also...why would she be saluting military personnel?

Yeah Melania. I can count dozens of meme where Michelle wasn't saluting the flag or having her hand over her heart, the right went off on how unamerican and unpatriotic and a spit in the face to the military and on and on. Fair is fair bro.

Clinton hasn't been convicted or even been indicted on a federal crime, despite multiple accusations. Trump is also a part of several ongoing lawsuits.

You're either deliberately ignoring Trump's legal failings or arguing that Trump's, in your opinion, aren't as bad as Clinton's. That argument would be disappointing.

You're going to see a lot of this from liberals over the next four years. If for no other reason, because of the constant scrutiny that Obama had to deal with for 8 years.
