  3. I doubt we beat OSU but if we do, we won't be losing to NW.

  4. I will always hate 11 AM games. The atmosphere compared to a night game isn't even in the same realm when attending in person. When I'm at home, I want the build up of excitement all day. A 10 AM kick (Mountain for me) feels like an AAU tournament in June rather than college football.

  5. I like the fact that he apparently has very good hands and rarely drops passes. Not only a potential gamebreaker but maybe also a third and 10 receiver.

  8. Missed that one! I must have forgotten they had a team. Till last year, we never lost at their place either.

  9. Dad was along this time. Mom was with him before. Sounds like he's considering more than just ISU and Nebraska now but didn't say who. Looking at taking some more visits before making a decision in July.

  11. Yes. And it’s actually 3 1/2 hours. Games in Nebraska are either at 11:00, 2:30 or 6:00.

  12. The Huskers in 2019 need to catch some breaks and have a few things go their way. There will be a vast improvement with this team talent wise and the familiarity of the scheme will help. If we get a couple of players to develop well that will really help us in 2019. Offense QB- Adrian will be great this year and hopefully, we see some of the backups in a couple of game this year. The depth is solid at this position. -RB room is figured out with Washington, Johnson, and Mills. Might see some of Wandale and other back here as well. -TE-more people step up and get some yards, especially in the red zone -WR- replacing Stanley won't be easy. However, we have many capable players and someone will be making plays here with JD. Oline- The center and guard spots need to improve. Adrian cannot be taking 5 high snaps a game from the center position. Hixon looks good but how well will he do against B1G foes? At the same time, this offense will look scary. Wandale motions into the backfield while Mo goes to the slot. We will be running circles around some defenses if we can get it figured out. Overall, we need to be better at being consistent on Offense. No spurts of 10 or so minutes without scoring. Also, it's great to get 500 or so yards of offense, but we need to turn those into touchdowns. Defense DL- They have to be elite this year. We need to get pressure and be much better at stopping the run. The talent and depth are there this year, so no excuses with this group. ILB- Mo Barry will be on another level and can Collin Miller step up and Honas stay healthy next to him? How good will Hannah be when he steps on campus? OLB- Tannor and Davis need to step up. Ferguson will be solid if he stays healthy and Garrett Nelson will play this year and can give us some depth. This group must improve! CB- This group needs to be elite for this season. Between Bootle, Jackson, Taylor and Pola Gates, they should be really good. They should be ready for the challenge. S- Some question marks with this group but some solid pieces. Williams and Dismuke are solid. How will Eric Lee adjust to adding depth to this room? Will CJ Smith be healthy? JJ Domann will also greatly help this group out so we look good but not great. However, if everything goes our way this group will be very good. Overall, turnovers are key for this group- force two or more a game and we will be really good. Now that guys know where they need to be, we should have the confidence to make plays and be hungry to force turnovers. Improvement of the pass rush and stopping the run this year will get the defense off the field. Limiting big plays is another thing that will improve with familiarity and it being year 2. Special Teams Punter- we have a competition with the MSU punter and Armstrong Kicker- Barrett should continue to improve his game and gain confidence down the stretch. I also predict we take a kickoff and a punt return to the house. Something we haven't really seen since DPE freshman year. If we get an improvement with this unit that can help us win games. Look what good punting did for us the last seven games when Armstrong was inserted. Good special teams play can be the difference in close games. 2019 will be the first year we start and finish the season well. This is something we haven't seen in a long time. It might be too soon to make it to Indy but anything is possible My prediction: Huskers will go 9-3.

  14. I agree with the premise tOSU may not be what it has been under UM, but it's a fact that Ohio State has posted a win/loss % of .600 or lower in 7 seasons since 1959. And never in multiple seasons in a row. Nebraska only has one win over them as a member of the Big ten, and that was the last time they posted a subpar record for the season. Until Nebraska beats Ohio state when they are Ohio State, a win shouldnt be predicted....and should they win this year, they wont overlook Northwestern. That team has been a thorn to Nebraska more than any other team.

  15. That would be a grey shirt as I understand it. A blue shirt would be if he enrolled on his own and then was awarded a scholarship at the start of fall camp. He took an official visit, so a blue shirt isn't an option.

  16. @suh_fan93 Interesting that they differ so much on Iowa and Purdue. One has Iowa #2 and Purdue #6 in the West, and the other has them the other way around.

  17. I don't think the predicted win over Ohio State is a real comment on Nebraska, but lower expectations of Ohio State. Seems to be a lot of people jumping off their band wagon. QB may live up to expectations and if he does Ohio State will be just fine. I really do not think we have the talent to beat Ohio State, but new coach and lot of new starters makes it possible I guess, but i am in the same thinking of Show Me.

  18. Can't understate how big this is. Plenty of time to get in here and learn the system. He should be competing for #1. He hasn't proven anything here yet so I'm not giving him the job, but his presence should raise the competition. This will make all of our backs better.

  20. Oh I agree that the problem with these last 2 seasons is directly a result of rushing to the end. These guys didn't forget how to write or tell a story. They simply didn't allow enough time for things to play out as well as we'd become accustomed to. Personally I like mad Dany and pretty much expected that turn of events. But like most, I didn't particularly care for how or when they did it. I can only blame them for thinking they could satisfactorily end this saga in their self-imposed time constraints. But now with two year plus production times between seasons, maybe it's all for the better that the end is here.

  22. I realize that this isnt UCF, but while coached by SF, they didnt seem to get too high about themselves as the season went on. With the loss that we took from NW last year, I doubt they fail to show up to that game. I'm not sold on beating tOSU until I see it, and I'd put that as their first loss of the season.

  24. A few questions for everyone: Do you think exceptions should be made in cases of rape or incest of a minor? Do you think it is okay for a woman to terminate a non viable pregnancy to begin the greaving process? Do you think it is okay to terminate the pregnancy if a woman’s health is at risk? Do you think it is okay to abort one fetus if it means saving siblings sharing the same womb? Do you think it is important for a woman to talk to her doctor about options without the fear of persecution? If you answer “yes” to just one of these, congratulations! You are “pro-choice”. Welcome to the very complicated and overly villafied spectrum of “baby killers!”

  25. If the adidas logo was moved back to the center, it wouldn’t look quite so bad. Still, four patches on one jersey is ridiculous. If they’re dead set on the 150 years patch, use it in place of the winning tradition patch. Apparently there was a 100 years patch in 1989. When the 101st year came around, someone thought “well, I guess we just have to have a patch!” Like they hadn’t seen any jerseys erstwhile and thought it was just a thing Nebraska jerseys have. A winning tradition has been there since. In my opinion, it’s stupid to have a patch that isn’t commemorating a specific event/anniversary. Instead of saying “oh, we’re good at football, y’all!”, it’d be a lot more effective to just win instead.

  26. Assume Rob Stone will be anchoring the show. I've always like Stone and thought he has done an excellent job hosting Fox's CFB, CBB, and World Cup stuff the past couple years. I mean how can you not like a guy who does this?

  28. 11am games tend to suck for recruiting and general atmosphere (although Severe has been ranting that the 06 Texas game was 11am and was one of the loudest in memory). But from a sitting at home and watching standpoint, I like 11am games better than 2:30 games.

  29. What sucks is that as Nebraska gets better, there will now be more of a chance their games are at 11:00. 11:00am games suck.

  30. Also a peek on how the sausage is made in the article "As you know, we share rights with ESPN for three of the five power conferences [Big 10, Pac 12, Big 12]," Mulvihill said. "The way that those rights are allocated is that the conferences themselves don’t decide what games will be on what network. That’s unlike the NFL, where there’s an NFL broadcasting department that puts the schedule together and they decide that Packers-Patriots is going to be on NBC and Cowboys-Eagles is going to be on Fox at 4:25. That’s a collaborative process, but in the end the NFL makes those decisions. "In the college draft, the conferences put together a game schedule [with the dates] but then we and ESPN sit down and actually choose game windows in the Spring where we’ll say — and we have the number one pick in the Big Ten draft — we’re going to take the first selection on November 24th. We pick that date obviously with an eye toward it being Ohio State-Michigan, but we don’t literally take Ohio State-Michigan. We just take the right to have the first choice on November 24th. And then ESPN will choose the right to have the first choice on a week in September. And we’ll come back and use our first pick in the Big 12 to take the number one pick in the first week of October which will be Texas-Oklahoma." Mulvihill says the process of slotting games and who gets what matchups can be exhausting for networks. "As the season goes on we’ll say, Okay we’re up to Week 7. We have the first pick. We’re going to use that first pick on Michigan-Michigan State," Mulvihill said. "ESPN then has the second pick, and they [hypothetically] thought they were going to use it on Penn State-Iowa, but because events on the field are unpredictable they’re actually going to use it on Wisconsin-Northwestern. Because you’re drafting windows and not actual games, once you get to the season in progress and you’re surprised by which teams are better than you thought and which teams aren’t as good as you expected, you can adjust and make sure that you’re getting the best game in the best window."
