  1. Dang thats crazy how he must have convinced the majority of other teams in college and the NFL to kill the position also.

  2. It really isn’t. I don’t know a single person who thinks it’s okay for trans women to compete against women. And the only way a trans woman would think it’s okay is if they were in a serious state of denial or wanted the unfair advantage. There’s lots of stupid s#!t in this world but this deal is near top of the list.

  3. I’m pretty open minded on lots of things. But, I’m against trans women competing in women’s sports.

  4. Just because someone says something isn't part of the Democrat Utopia doesn't mean that they're implying it's part of the Republican one. The world isn't a binary defined by the two major american political parties lol.

  5. There’s a lot of odd/s#!tty things you can lay at the door of the Republican Utopia, but letting men dominate women in women’s sports isn’t one of them. It fits here just fine.

  6. Wow this is tone deaf, even for the Ds.

  7. I think he actually voted to impeach someone in 2018 for engaging in an illegal quid pro quo. I agree it's not a fair competition, but how do you exactly solve the problem? Lebron James has an advantage over me and all other men based off of his physical make-up he was genetically born with and that's also not a fair competition. We're the same sex and gender so there's no inherent problem the same as there is for trans people, but it's messy business trying to find a way to codify a rule for this specific problem in a way that is fair and equitable.

  8. If you think trans women dominating sports is part of The Democrat Utopia, you'd be wrong. The complex issue is hotly debated within the LGBT community as well.

  9. At the end of the day, Ukraine remains a west-leaning Democracy, still in the throes of corruption, still racist in many ways, but making huge steps out of the past in a relatively short time. As with every country, they have factions, including pro-Russia factions. The Nazi faction is a minority in Ukraine, much as they are in the U.S. The everyday people of Ukraine did not ask for or deserve any of this. As Putin well knows, a white nationalist, anti-semitic faction in a neighboring country poses no threat to Russia. A white race crusade cares less about national borders and likely has more in common with Russia's own right wing, the white nationalists who help keep Putin in power. Remember, Gen. Michael Flynn once represented the U.S. military.

  13. That’s exactly what you do. Because if you’re a man, you can’t be a woman.

  14. Agreed...what is to say the UCLA men's VB team won't just say "You know what, this year we are all girls"... I know it sound stupid and it is but what do you do? Do you say "Nooooo, you are not girls"

  18. Exactly, I don't care at all, I mean it is swimming. But if I was a girl swimmer and some dude showed up with a dong and I had to race them...F that.

  20. Tends to happen when men compete as women That’s a common sense solution
    2 points
  21. I didn’t say it was, but there’s definitely a difference in how much each political party is pushing back on this kind of ridiculousness. I don’t doubt this Thomas guy feels like a woman, but that doesn’t make him a woman. And it definitely doesn’t give him the right to ruin the legitimacy of an entire sport, and make everything those women worked for throughout their young lives irrelevant.

  22. The problem is, they’re not truly the same sex and gender no matter what work they’ve had done or what they feel like or want to be. So it’s not at all like a man comparing themself to Lebron James. He’s better because he’s better not because he’s competing against something he is not. I thought my solution was viable. Have a trans class for competition. May not be fiscally viable but it would solve the fairness issue.

  23. That’s what happens when a ridiculously unfair situation is presented as some kind of a solution. IMO, there needs to be four classes of competition. Men Women Trans Men Trans Women Letting trans women (biological men) compete against women is ludicrous. I don’t care what sport it is.

  26. This swimmer dominating as a woman, when she was average as a guy is an interesting situation. I understand that being trans-gender is not an easy life for those who are going through it, and I can understand that they want to have the right to compete. However, this trans-gender woman has an advantage over other women, based on her testosterone and overall physical make-up. It's not a fair competition IMO, but I don't have an easy answer to this issue.

  27. First, NU is not in the NFL and hopefully never will be. I don’t watch Football on sundays and don’t plan to ever. i used to but cookie cutter plays and free agent players etc took the fun out of it for me. Second, NU was one of a very few teams that was power run football for 20 years (circa 82 to 02) and was one of the winningest programs of all time. Our single biggest advantage was the fact that we were different and teams were not willing and or interested in copying us. Few really tried because it is not easy to do. We don’t need a Fullback per se. Just reposition a back-up TE a dozen snaps a game for pass pro and or run power plays or even an option now and then. Those extra CBs and safety won’t be able to play pass defense every play. The hurry up tempo will really work when the defense has to defend both run and pass with a run package and can’t substitute. And we need a power element to the offense of some kind, coupled with our multiple finesse RPO pass game. Whipple and company will figure out a way. That’s got to be the reason they brought him there.

  28. So I guess that swimmer was ranked like in the 300's when he was a dude...then he became a girl and is ranked 1? That is awesome on so many levels. If you think about, Title IX, at least the part that has to do with gender equity in college sports, might be seeing some changes and it will just go to an allotment of scholarships that public U's are going to have that they can use as they see fit.

  31. I think we can separate a good kid vs a good passer. People are going to see CT tear it up and realize what the main issues were. Just my honest opinion. AM was the least clutch player I can recall in my Husker fandom. 0-15 on 4th quarter drives to take the lead or tie the game in his career. Those are facts.

  32. I guess that’s sort of my point. Whatever it is, womens swimming, volleyball, whatever, doesn’t really matter. There are people who it’s important to and people who it isn’t. The issue is it’s not a fair competition. And that’s not to say women are inferior in any way. There are lots of things women can beat men at, even swimming. But the whole basis for competitive sports is that people begin on equal footing. It is inherently unfair for a trans woman (biological man) to compete in womens sports even if in some cases the women may prevail anyway. It has nothing to do with what any one person may identify as, or feel like, or shoulda been something else. My kids, a boy and girl, both played a lot of sports. There wasn’t a great difference between the sexes prior to puberty. My son played hockey with girls and boys up to a certain age. But once puberty hits, physically the boys blow past the girls. Trust me, you do not want your 17 yr old daughter playing hockey or football against 17 yr old boys and there is no good reason they should have to race them in swimming either.

  33. Other sports is what I was thinking. He was poo pooing it because it’s womens swimming and nobody really cares about that. But what if a 6’-6” trans woman started playing volleyball for one of our B1G rivals?

  34. So gross! Ha So, we brought this up in one of my class and the girls, the ones that do sports, were soooooo against it and said it was not fair and that it needs to stop. Of course, the crazies that don't compete and are not the ones going up against this dude think it is okay. Like I said before, if we can pick our gender we should get to pick our age...and lord knows none of the crazies would agree to that.

  37. Ukraine's Azov Battalion is a neo-Nazi white nationalist militia, & anti-Russia. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/3/1/who-are-the-azov-regiment The unit was led by Andriy Biletsky, who said Ukraine's national purpose was to “lead the white races of the world in a final crusade … against Semite-led Untermenschen [inferior races]”. Putin referenced the presence of such units within the Ukrainian military as one of the reasons for launching his so-called “special military operation … to de-militarise and de-Nazify Ukraine”.

  39. Oh, Archy, bless your soul, my friend. You just can't help yourself. Do you really think people don't follow multiple of your posts at the same time. Even as you respond to this with a gaslighting obliviousness as to the meaning of your own words, you are on another thread still arguing that Biden is solely responsible for gas prices and that the conflict in Russia had zero impact. Yet, you acknowledge the impact of world events on the national deficit during republican administrations. This is about your pattern of hypocriticalness and blind partisanship. You can continue to try to deflect from the actual issue here, but the habits and behaviors you display, within your posts, are rampant among conservatives. Blind loyalty to party is more important than being an American. I appreciate you sharing your views in this forum, but you cling to ideals and regurgitate the same wrong talking points even after being proved false repeatedly. Even more frustrating, you have this Trumpian methodology of saying things and then pretending not to understand specifically what you wrote, then challenging others to prove the meaning of your own words. This is what makes people wonder repeatedly if you come here to discuss in good faith or are on some payroll.

  40. Well, I'm impressed, I challenged you to use something other than the victim card in your response, and you did. I feel like you've earned a sticker today, as you went with gaslighting instead. For reference, here is your post. The bolded are every attempt you made to absolve the administration of owning their debt. What world event happened under bush 1? Clinton admin did great with debt and had the tech revolution to boot. Unfortunately led to a bubble which leads us to Bush 2 and a couple world events happened along with the recession. Obama had the extra spending because of the recession and began to normalize that spending. Trump had the tax cuts which always lead to an initial increase in debt (different than a spending increase as it’s gov giving us back our own money) and long term decrease if things work out well. Unfortunately Covid got in the way. Biden really had no where to go but down. Hope the trend continues on the same trajectory it went up. Similarly, you remove any credit Biden has earned by cutting the deficit. "He didn't have anywhere to go but down." By contrast here is your post regarding Biden and gas prices. This is the kind of double speak people are sick of. Your MO in these discussions is to support all things Republican, expose your blind partisan loyalty, then gaslight, claim victimhood, or deflect when called out (the best was when you claimed you were a victim of the deflection sales tactic. Two for One!) . Your cognitive dissonance and inability to apply your same standards across parties is indicative of brainwashing, or at the very minimum a strong sense of tribalistic behavior. I'd encourage you to evaluate your arguments, your prejudices, and the mental gymnastics you need to do in order to support the candidates you have. I'm not asking you to believe what anyone else believes. What I'm asking is for you to develop some consistency in your application of your values and political beliefs beyond Red is good, Blue is bad. What is weird is your inability to do so.
