  1. Imo as a football player only meaning no off field issues Lawrence Phillips. Size, speed, power don't think Nebraska will ever have a back like him. Once in a lifetime talent. Yes Nebraska can get great running backs by recruiting but to get one like him good luck.

  3. 2AM averaged 11 rush attempts per game last year. A number of those were pass plays that broke down. Even if we weren’t changing OCs, a better passing QB, better WR and better line would see the QB running much less than 15 times per game.

  5. Im going to dive into the kool-aid pool and say we finish 1st in the west at 10-2 or 11-1 and play OSU in the title game. after that i think it goes wincy, iowa, purdue, illi, northwestern and any one of those can be shuffled around. the west is ripe for picking and i think nu gets it done this year.

  6. Amen to that last tweet. Garland's job isn't to protect the political class. It is to administer justice fairly. There are several GOP senators, Congressmen/women, and one Ex-President who need to be hauled before the court for trial regardless of an election or not.

  7. Things I never thought I would say... If the Huskers just don't lose to Minny and "steal" a win on the road at Purdue, they will win the West. Good lord I hate the Big Ten.

  9. I was a member of both Huskerboard and HuskerMax forums. "Hot Topic" members under HMax, majority was a pro-trump ..... a few Proud Boys and/or Trump's cult . Just the opposite, lots of pro-biden or anti-trump members in Politics&Religious section (Huskerboard) Huskerboard posts (politics/religious)..... mostly friendly and fair arguments, both sides. HMax posts (Hot Topics), mostly replies, bitter and nasty posts including David Max inputs.

  10. I really don't want to vote for any one affiliated with the GOP even if it's in name only, but Mitt and Kasich would be about the only two I would. Cheney I would have to think about long and hard. She's got guts and a good head, but I'm not sure I'd like her policy.

  11. Yant wasn't exactly your typical walk-on IIRC. He wasn't exactly highly rated but I believe he was a 3 star recruit out of FL and the main reason he didn't have a lot of offers was academic concerns.

  15. My wife has had conversations with her 2 sisters about their Q beliefs. She can't believe how deceived they have become. They more than prove the old adage: "Beware of half truths, you may get the wrong half". In the Q case and everything trump - it is all falsehoods. My 2 sister in laws believe: Trump is still the president Pence is dead - an actor is what you see now Biden is dead - """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Hillary is dead """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Liz Cheney is dead (actually I made that up but she better watch it - I hope she has protection from deranged trump supporters) Trump will be restored to the WH (Kind of sounds like the Second Coming doesn't it. The savior returns. They have substituted the Savior for a false one) There are many actors playing the role of now dead politicians Pence was involved in child sex trafficking along with Hillary, Biden, and just about anyone else who opposes their savior Trump Mother Teresa was dead before she was dead(read that one 2x)and an actor took her place. She too was involved in child sex trafficking. J6C is a recorded media show - actors - with the purpose of telling lies. There are way too many weird things that I can't think of right now. I really don't understand how some one can remove their brain, but it on a shelf and swallow deceptive group think. This is Jonestown on a national scale. People are just toooo lazy to think & lean any more and prefer to live by and accept their own biases as fact.

  16. IMO LP is the best running back to ever wear the scarlet and cream....and probably the worst human being to ever wear the scarlet and cream. If you remove the off the field issues/mental health he could possibly be one of the best NFL guys as well. All speculation, but the talent was there. TO did all he could to help that young man.

  17. You can't go wrong between Ahman Green, Lawrence Phillips and Mike Rozier. But if I'm picking the best running back ever at Nebraska, it's Rozier. Speed, power, size, shiftiness - he had the whole package.

  18. I think if the defense plays great with the new addition's and and the offense clicks why couldn't they take the west? Its anybody's to lose. I understand if they end up in the middle of the conference but Nebraska has a good enough chance like everyone else.

  19. I won't be at all surprised if NBC pays the $75 million. In fact, I'd be more surprised if they didn't and TBH, at the current B1G and SEC rates broken down per school, I think that is a fair request. If NBC decides it's too much so be it, they can then pay more if they want to get into conference contracts to broadcast college football. Truth is, all this hoopla is doing is adding to the destruction of the real value of the dollar not to mention hurting college sports as a whole. Ugh... would love to go back to the days of split titles and off season discussions of who would have beaten whom... those were the good times. However, I digress... times have changed and the change is only beginning. Better to sit back and enjoy the ride, yes?

  27. Osborne saw something on film and actually commented before the game that he wouldn't be surprised if Nebraska scored on their first play (paraphrasing). It's super unusual for Osborne to have said something like that.

  28. You are correct on the 12.1 carries per game last year. I forgot he didn't play in one game. However, my point still stands. We didn't "use him as an RB" as much as you want to think we did. Months ago, someone had the stat on how many called running plays he actually had in a game and it was way below the 12.1 carries he actually had. He had a lot of scrambles from passing plays each game. That was because of a) he took too long to make decisions b) receivers weren't getting open or c) the line broke down and he didn't have time. And, how many of those rushing attempts were actually sacks? All three of those could very well be improved this season.

  30. Man down! admo down lol I got covid Friday morning, tested positive sat, and today is day 5. Although this is the third year I've had it, this is/was the absolute worst I felt by far. Especially the first 48-60 hours - complete suffering. I hope none of yall catch this variant. Seems to be spreading fast out here. My lady, my fam, coworkers - all seem to catch it since last week and this week. I still have no appetite, literally no desire for food at all. Going on 5 days (feeling 50% better) I've only ate - an orange, green apple slices, and a tomato. Put any food in front of me and I will swat it away like Dikembe Mutombo (and wave the finger). Just lots of water, little bits of orange juice, and fruit juice. Ugh... First time was summer 2020. 2nd time a few months after getting vaxxed. Those were no picnics either, but again, nothing like this was during the first 3 days.

  32. To add to the above: I do acknowledge there have always been the kooky right fringe who would say stupid things. I just was not prepared to see how unprepared the GOP was for this reversal. But then again - I should have considered their response to Obamacare and their non-existent plan in response. But the degree to which the kookiness has taken over the GOP is now so very apparent. This SC decision has brought it to light. For the most part we have one party with a brain - but too often gets in its own way (the Dems) and one without a brain and is reliant on cult like group think.

  33. There are also pro-life Dems (yes I know - kind of like the dinosaur) and independents who feel that way. I'm one of those. I've always thought Roe was a very bad decision Constitutionally. However, I never expected its overturn would unleash a torrent of Neanderthal responses, rules, laws actions, words. Maybe during a different political time it would not have. But as I mentioned before, it may have been the right decision (constitutionally) at the wrong time. That post above about making abortion punishable by death just reeks of legalism, judgmentalism, self righteousness, and blind callousness and is no different than Islamic Fascism but this is "Christian" fascism. It isn't Christian - Christ Like - at all. The people speaking this are closer to the Taliban than to Christ. This SC decision made in the midst of the worst political culture since the civil war is releasing the terrifying under belly of the hard core religious & political right. It shows the ugliness of so call "Christian" Nationalism - which isn't Christian at all.

  34. I wonder how many Republican voters were celebrating the RvW decision, but at some point will be thinking...."crap....but, I didn't mean for that to happen". But, of course, so many won't admit that publically.

  35. I thought you did not want to post about language anymore. Are you now saying it is important? I do not have a "but" with pro choice, but Pro Choice means you have a choice, to have or not have the baby. Others might have a "but" with their pro choice stance. See, if you take away choice you are only left with "no option but birth, no matter what" I don't think most people really want that.

  36. I stood next to AM and he is no taller than 6'2. Thompson is only 6'0 but def has way more muscle than AM. Better mechanics and footwork as a QB which I think matters most when throwing the ball.

  37. When a competitor lowers prices and sells at a loss it is the start of an anti-trust case. Now what happens when that competitor buys up product, likely at a loss, to corner the market? No, Notre Dame vs Toledo is not worth that much. And I have my doubts about Disney buying up the rest of everything beyond that no one can consume entertainment without paying the Mouse.

  40. I like all the new pieces added to this team. If they can stay healthy on both sides of ball I could see this team surprising a lot of teams. Just can't have them come out and lay an egg in the first game like last year.
