Two facts - one, their schedule wasn't good. Two - they didn't look very good winning. There's no true dominant team in college football this year and Alabama probably looks "the best." Iowa was one of the worst Top 10 teams.

Iowa's schedule was terrible but I don't blame them for their opponents sucking.

Wofford, Appalachian State, South Carolina, Akron, Tulsa, Middle Tennessee State, Louisiana-Monroe, Charleston Southern, Western Michigan, Air Force, Central Michigan

Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Oregon

Those are the Non-Conference teams played by the 4 playoff teams. Pretty much on par with Iowa’s. One decent Top 30 team and a bunch of schedule filler (South Carolina is the Iowa State of the SEC this year)

It's because you've lost a lot of your more colorful characters. Gone are the Chuck Lidell's and Brock Lesnar's that brought some intrigue to the sport. Right now you've got a couple of really dominant fighters and a lot of other guys. I like Chael Sonnen just for the fact that he is an interesting guy that really knows how to talk smack (even if he doesn't back it up)... stuff like THAT gets people's attention.

It wasn't only Chuck Liddell, you had a light heavy weight division that had about 4 or 5 guys that could win the belt...

Liddell is just the most iconic fighter I remember from when I first started following the sport.
