@Scratchtown holy smokes. I didn't even notice the laser at first.

Any interest in a 32 team dynasty fantasy league? Let me know and I'll get you the link! - No defense!

Bama just locked themselves into the playoff. Congrats for not winning the division. AGAIN, and being allowed a shot at the natty.
I freaking hate college football post season.
-
The thing is. I’d be fine with it if they put some requirements with how it’s only 4 teams.
like you HAVE TO at least be a division winner. Although I’d like for it to be limited to conference champion. Regardless if that champion is 10-3 or not.
The committee has devalued certain conferences and I don’t think that’s right.
-
It just makes me nuts that they get a second chance seemingly every year. Part of it I will admit is personal jealously. Our 1982 and 1983 squads didn't get second chances. All those teams that lost to Oklahoma in the final seconds never got second chances. I think Osborne woulda won five or six titles with this format, but I digress....
-
Depressing fact. When Nick Saban leaves Alabama. Dabo will take over (look at his buyout clause with Bama)...Can Alabama just die off for a few years. The only coach players want to play for more than Saban is Swinney....till Frost is more established.

I turned down an opportunity to interview for my "dream" job today for the betterment of my wife. I'm in a weird state of mind tonight. One of the harder things I've ever had to do.

@Comfortably Numb you probably gave that one look you give, so you said it without saying anything. You know how you do that all the time.

@ZRod. Honey? Is that you?

If you use Hulu Live could you give an opinion on the post i made in the Tech forum. Thanks!

Since the Frank Solich firing, Iowa has 2 losing seasons. NU is on the verge of its 4th.
That tells you all you need to know. West Coast dudes responsible for all 4. Combined 7 Seasons, potentially 4 losing...That's unacceptable
-
I was listening one of our local sports folks on the radio yesterday and they said the same thing, Knap. Even though Wiscy has had different coaches their identity has remained the same. They play the same kind of football they played since Alverez (sp?) came there. When Frank was fired NU started losing their identity and it's been downhill ever since.

The first 30 days of MLB is awesome. After that, it sucks. Till the postseason.

Dilly Dilly!! Baseball would be a blast if they could get it down to 100 games or so. The quality of pitching would go up a bit as well along with less injuries and longer careers. They should also make less ... a lot less. That is true for all sports however. Example, a million dollars for a game in football is just crazy. I don't care if you are an injury away ... it's still crazy to me.
-
My idea I think about is to limit the season by 15-20 games and add enough double headers to squeeze the regular season down. The final weekend of regular season baseball is over on Labor Day. First and second round of playoffs are 5-game series matchups. Wrap-up a 7-game World Series around the first week of October, when it’s not terribly cold.

If this doesn't make you tear up, you have no soul and aren't a Husker fan. TO's last tunnel walk.

The fox sports college football theme is awesome. I've listened to it about 20 times today.

The noose is tightening around Rileys throat and the kids know this and the media knows this, why would they stick around if they want to play for the coach and not the school. We all know it and i'm sure Riley even knows it, I don't think his guys have even been out recruiting really anything since the day SE got canned as they saw the writing on the wall.
-
I still think Nebraska will win 8-9 more games. I'm staying with my projection of 10-2 (had NU losing to Oregon) and I said it was only going to be because of defensive struggles early as the transition takes place. As the year goes on, the defense will get better. OSU is not invincible, NW is worse than originally thought, Iowa isn't great. Penn State is the real tough one in my opinion

We certainly could win that many. Lots of football to be played. I still fell good with 7-5, 8-4 is the top of the ladder IMO. No debate with you or anyone else. I sure hope we can begin to put pressure on these passing downs. I think we are still three draft classes away and there isn't time for that.
-
I have never been so excited for a season to end. Oregon's basically done. NU is just waiting to fire Riley (thank god). I really want Frost to be the coach at NU. After that, I've got a handful of guys that I think would be great options but are more risky.

Not a fan. The last time a message board I loved changed its format. It died.

As noted on the site footer, we run Invision's message board software. Support for versions 3.x.x, which we had been running for some time, ended a few months ago (at least?), which made a jump to 4.x.x, which was first released in 2015, inevitable. IPS is currently on 4.2.
It doesn't "force" an upgrade, but it's a little like when Microsoft for example stopped supporting Windows XP with security patches. So we chose to upgrade, but it was long, long overdue.

NU’s time messing around by not sending Riley out the door is going to cost them Frost. Forever.

@ZRod Yeah, I realize that but it just isn't an option for them to get it wrong again.
-
@Coach Power'T IF (and it is an outrageous "if") your post about winning out happens, I think I would be happy to keep Riley. Even though his style isn't anything to get excited about, that accomplishment would show a lot of how he can pull a team together and save them from collapse. I don't want to see it used as an excuse, but this is a pretty young team. And if they finish 8-4 with a finish like your post describes, I'd be pretty excited for next year.
