I remember watching our game last year against the Illini and thinking "wow", there's some hitting going on. If thats the same tonight it might result in fewer points due turnovers caused by the lack of actual live play. However, it seems this years scoring is up considerably across the nation. Hence why my advice would be don't bet this game. To many unknowns right now.

Well so much for any feeling I had. Mertz was unconscious and Illinois was horrible. I just hope our DL and DBs are ready for week 2. Mertz looks to be the real deal.

Yeah, I ended up going with Wisconsin.  Their OL doesn't look all that great this year.  Illinois is horrible.

I've been eating more restaurant food than ever since they shut down. Just not eating there. And I always tip.

@Moiraine same here. I've eaten "out" more since this started, but it's either delivered or put directly into my trunk by the staff.

It's just sometimes hard to find the energy to cook right now.

A friend of mine from here in Colorado has told us that we need to hit her tailgate.  I guess the guy just serves a s#!t ton of food.

I played 9 solo last week at Indian Creek (Elkhorn). They have the cups pulled 2" above ground, so you just hit the cup and call it good. You don't have to touch anything but your own clubs/ball. It was enjoyable, especially just getting out of the house, fresh air, sunshine, etc.

What happens if you get a hole in one with the cup pulled up like that?

My school didn't even allow tailgating until the year after I graduated. Now instead of 200 fans in the stands during games it's 50 people in the stands and the rest drunk in the parking lot. Our football team was terrible, I should know since I was on it for a year

I think you could but there was no alcohol allowed and it was strictly enforced, so what's the point lol. I went back for homecoming once and it was a lot different than when I was in school. Pretty fun for a tiny D3 team

@BigRedBuster Lately I've been putting mayonnaise on steaks.

If any of you just gagged and are ready to come after me with pitchforks and torches, I understand.

What I do is smoke the steaks in my kamado at around 250F until their internal temperature is around 105-110F, then pull them off, put a big cast iron skillet in the kamado, and crank it up until its temperature is over 500F. Then the steaks get a light coat of mayo and go on the skillet to sear, about 20-30 seconds on each side twice (ie about 1.5 to 2 minutes total).

So why the mayo? Consider its main ingredients: oil and eggs. Oil you'd be using for searing on a cast iron skillet anyway, while eggs lotsa protein for Maillard reactions with the meat to give you a more flavorful crust when you sear it. Works well, I find!

As for putting mustard, mayo, or oil on briskets, ribs, or butts? Completely unnecessary, I think. The moisture of the meat itself is plenty for getting a thick coat of rub to stick.

Yeah, it seemed interesting at first and then I realized I really don't mind paying to view stuff legally. I just wish there was a more all encompassing way to view everything more seamlessly and with fewer providers and options. Right now I have Comcast cable, Netflix, Amazon prime and Hulu and before football season starts I need to dump Comcast and get a streaming service so I can get BTN. Luckily I have kids and the folks here on HB that understand all this stuff better than I do.

I'm almost in the exact same boat, but with a few perks. I have Comcast internet with basic cable and HBOGO for free. I have Hulu TV (Which has BTN), Amazon Prime and Netflix. All together it runs me about $115 a month. Still way cheaper than getting cable with all those channels. I had planned on dumping Hulu after football season, but it  has a lot of good TV shows and movies to watch. I don't mind paying for things now. I mean, I have a job and everyone deserves to get paid for their work, so I'm fine with it. I just don't want to get screwed over by the big media corporations.

I get it. Comcast is the only one that I feel I'm getting prison sexed by....well, them and Verizon. Bad thing is I'll still have to maintain Comcast internet but they cram the rest up their can. Probably would've continued to overpay them forever but they went and screwed the pooch when they quit carrying BTN.

Hell yeah. I'm thinking about dressing like the frat guys for Halloween

I never cared for this show but the ads for that season definitely had me intrigued. 

Watched every season. Fantastic show.

Voluntarily - not much. Just bought some extra food.

I'm dreading when my company decides we have to work from home. That's how I get away from Elaida.

Wife and I are working from home full time starting Monday.  Also kids will be out of school for at least 3 weeks because of this.  Bought a lot of extra freezer food (just in case).  We are going to do our best to isolate through this week and see how it goes.  I may need to go for a 30 minute drive every day to get out of the house.

If you haven't seen it, that WaPo simulation on social distancing left an impression on my wife and me.  We figure its a small inconvenience for us to help flatten the curve is worth it.

I'm scheduled to attend a meeting in another town today.  I'm going to call and let them know I've had a headache and upset stomach starting about the middle of last night, but would still be willing to come to the meeting.  I'm guessing they pull the plug on our meeting.  lol 

@JJ HuskerHuskeryou are correct, you can play the ball until the whole ball is out but not after.

I misread it... The whole ball needing to be out alway makes me think twice in soccer.

Soccer is one of the only sports where the lines are considered in bounds and the ball is in bounds as long as any part of the ball is touching the line or the imaginary plane perpendicular to the ground and intersecting the line.

With our track record in the bball department, we'll probably get the old Illini coach

Let's say you have two weeks of paid vacation.

That means you can have ten weeks out of the year where you have a 4 day weekend.  Our company gives 6 weeks of vacation after you have been here a while.  That would mean 30 weeks you have 4 day weekends.

On the weeks you don't take a vacation day, you work 3, 1 off, work one to finish up a few things and two off.

I could do that.

@BigRedBuster, can't you do the exact same thing by having Monday or Friday off instead of Thursday? Then you actually have more flexibility because you can use vacation on either end of the 3 day weekend to have a 4 day weekend

@RedDenver  You could.  I was also thinking though about the weeks where I didn't use vacation time.  I would have 3 on 1 off, 1 on, 2 off.

Break up the week.

For the record, I think productivity with this schedule would suck.  But....it would be nice personally.

@RedDenver haha yup!  It was the first arcade game that I remember where the dead bodies stayed on the screen.  I remember being mind blown when I saw that!

Could you imagine if gyms did a gum class?  

Two or three times a week for 40 minutes...all the old time best games.

I ran a before/after elementary school program a few years ago, and dodgeball was so popular that parents would stay for 20-30 minutes when picking up their kids to play with us. We had some awesome parents vs. students games.
