ShawnWatson
I'm not a Twitter guy, have any of the players tweeted anything about this? Just wait, Army Allen should be tweeting this question to players and recruits soon. 4 Quote Link to comment
GSG
Jay Moore @jaymoore44 18m I could care less about this Pelini stuff. Still would give my left nut to put that uniform on & play for him again. #respect Quote Link to comment
JTrain
This is rough. Fans form emotional ties with the personalities that make up their team. Even when they have never met them. That's part of the vicarious nature of sports fandom. That's part of what causes us to drive long distances and spend lots of our money on tickets, gas, hotels, etc. Tough to keep those very strongly intact when the head coach literally says "f#*k all of you". Combine that with the fact that the team this year may in fact not be very good, and you have a recipe for disaster. If we drop a game against Illinois, Purdue or Minnesota, watch out. It could go from bad to worse. But here's what will happen in the time being: 1. Bo will issue a formal apology tonight or tomorrow. 2. The fans won't buy it 3. Bo will need to go 9-3 or better to keep the walls from caving in. 8-4 or worse and I think he's probably done. 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerThor
I just wonder if Bo is actually humble enough to apologize. My guess is he is not and this will be his end. I believe this guess will be proven wrong, tonight. Have they scheduled anything yet? Quote Link to comment
Dr. Mantis Toboggan
If the recording was from this weekend, it would be a totally different set of circumstances (obviously). As it's from two years ago, I don't see anything happening immediately (other than an apology). Could carry more weight if the season doesn't turn around. Really? Who cares when he said it? The fact is that he said it. We fans are HIS customers that pay his bills and then some. Buh bye Bo!!! Quote Link to comment
MichiganDad3
If we had fairweather fans, the stadium wouldn't have been full for 50+ years! You can go f#*k yourself, Bo. +1 Quote Link to comment
Red is Power
I know this is the thread about some recording, and honestly at the moment I don't even care about the recording. I care about the short sightedness. If Pelini goes, we've basically gone through a coach every 6 years since TO's retirement. TO's legacy is because of his last 5 seasons and deservedly so......but the 20 before that had their share of ups and downs. I understand the thing about blowout losses. Callahan had them and Pelini has had them. But we're not going to build a program with a coaching carousel. When it comes to Nebraska football, I'm a nobody......I'm not a big donor and I have no weight to throw around. I know a little bit about football and quite a bit about the Huskers dating back to the 1970's. I'm just a poster on some internet message board. But I don't want a coaching change. +1 Me too... Don't compare Pelini to Osborne. Just don't, please. I don't even have to present an argument on that. I compared Osborne to no one. I simply referred to Osborne's legacy and his 25 year stint as head coach. If I correlated Pelini to anyone in my post it was to Callahan for the blowout losses. I'm not interested in an argument. That is all we have at this point is a legacy. We have to stop living in the past. But yeah, I guess you can compare Pelini to Callahan for the blowout losses. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
Okay, let's think about a couple of things about this audio tape for a minute before we all go and get our panties in a bunch because Bo Pelini isn't allowed to have feelings: 1) This tape was recorded in 2011. You know, that year when Taylor Martinez was being hounded by the media? You know the year when Dirkity Derp Chatelain was taking his asshattery to a new level? The year when Taylor was called out in Spanish class and was booed off the field at halftime? That year? I'm sorry, but could any of you not have any bad feelings regarding Husker fans then. Even I was saying f*** these fans at that game. 2) I think since 2011, Bo has gotten more comfortable with the media, with the fans, with everybody in general--and the fan support has been there to back him up. So why are we making the assumption that Bo feels the same way about the fans now as he did in 2011. 3) The person who decided to release this just now is an ass. If you didn't like Bo in 2011 you should've just released it then. Whoever did this is running off an agenda and for all I care they can quit being a fan of this team--there'll be plenty of others who will donate money to the school if it is a booster. 1 Quote Link to comment
Landlord
Joe Broekemeier @Joebro9 If you played for @BoPelini I know your with me and furious right now. That man would do ANYTHING ANYTHING for his players! Very sad day All due respect, Joe, but so what? The issue at hand is not, and never has been, whether Bo supports and is there for his players. We've always known that to be the case. Just because you're a former player doesn't mean you're excused to make strawman arguments. 1 Quote Link to comment
huskrplaya
Hopefully this lights the fire of the fans and team to kick ass the rest of the year Exactly what I was thinking. I will hafta take Bo to stay here for the team to play absolute lights out the rest of the season. Quote Link to comment
Ric Flair
I'm not a Twitter guy, have any of the players tweeted anything about this? None that I follow Yeah, they're generally supportive of Pelini. Quote Link to comment
Haspula
Well, this is our worst ranking in the AP Top 25 since the win against OSU (2011). The person who released it has to have some sort of grudge on the program, no way does this get released during the off-season. Had to be when everyone was tuned into the season. Also, notice how it is released (around 4pm) BEFORE the players started practicing Quote Link to comment

That's all well and good, but does any of it really matter? This will hang over the program for at least as long as Bo's here, whether we like it or not. The best thing the university can do is make that time as short as possible. Quote Link to comment
