ColoradoHusk
Blank check for Venables at Clemson? Midwest guy. From Salina. Played at KSU. Make him head coach in waiting as well?? Oh, but that would leave Scott Frost out of the picture. (had to get a SF reference in this defensive discussion since he is always mentioned in discussions on coaches) It would be great if NU goes after Venables, but as it was pointed about above, you can't name a HCIW. RedDenver
Riley never fired a coach at OSU. He's now fired three. He's fired two. Stewart left for another gig. Quote Link to comment

Hughes, Banker, and Read Probably three and a half. Taking a pretty decent pay cut to move to another job doesn't scream promotion to me. Quote Link to comment
Husker Psycho
We have to figure out which Defensive coach... Is willing to take a coaching job with a head coach who is himself on the hot seat. Whoever takes the job might be here only one year. Who would be interested in a job like that ? Quote Link to comment

Football coaches understand the business. They know that when they go into the business, they will have numerous stops and they may be at jobs for only a year at a time. It's not an issue. 1 Quote Link to comment

BoNeyard
Well UCONN is pulling in Auburn's coordinators, so it shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility Nebraska can bring in other Power 5 Coordinators. 1 Quote Link to comment

It's an excellent opportunity for an eager and talented coach to bring a stellar program back to it's hey day. I think people will be clamoring for the job. Quote Link to comment

Especially if NU is willing to pay in the $1M range. A lot of coaches would love to have a 2-year, $1M a year contract (NU could even go to 3 years for a top guy). Quote Link to comment
