ADS
We have to figure out which Defensive coach... Is willing to take a coaching job with a head coach who is himself on the hot seat. Whoever takes the job might be here only one year. Who would be interested in a job like that ? Didn't know Riley was on the hot seat right now. LOL So you know for sure. Thanks for clarifying. Bigred_inSD
Has anyone mentioned Luther Van Dam as a replacement? Dauber was basically our special teams coach last year 3 Quote Link to comment

Whoever takes the job might be here only one year. Who would be interested in a job like that ? Certainly not someone who sees doom and gloom in the scenario. It's an excellent opportunity for an eager and talented coach to bring a stellar program back to it's hey day. I think people will be clamoring for the job. Especially if NU is willing to pay in the $1M range. A lot of coaches would love to have a 2-year, $1M a year contract (NU could even go to 3 years for a top guy). Maybe so. Oregon... hired a new Defensive Coordinator last year... Oregon's new defensive coach didn't "bring a stellar program back to it's hey day"... so he was only there one year before being fired along with the rest of the staff.. Let the "clamoring" begin ! Nebfanatic
One name that no one has mentioned that would be worth looking into is Charles Woodson. He is a hall of fame defensive back he would make a great coach Quote Link to comment

You are just going to give him a DC job with no experience in coaching? Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Ha! OWH running a poll on should Banker have been fired. Currently running at 94.2% yes. Which I guess shows there's 5.8% of fans that refuse to blame the coaches for anything. Quote Link to comment

ADS
Why would we hire Charles Woodson when we need a Nebraska guy? We should hire Alfonzo Dennard. He's currently looking for a job. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
Is someone keeping a tally of all the names mentioned for the new DC? Some of the names being mentioned are hysterical. 3 Quote Link to comment

Well, we have one assistant coach who likes to drink and drive, we might as well have another who likes to drink and get in fights. Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
@bnilhome ... it's a surprise to me. Gulp. You were surprised that the top teams in college football pay top money for great assistants? Being a tight arse doesn't get you anything of good quality. It's like buying Wal Mart protein and expecting good results. Quote Link to comment
