I can picture the conversation... POB: "Hey, Coach Frost...Ummm...Could I talk with you a moment, in private?" Frost: "Sure...here is your release, I signed it 10 days ago" POB: "But, wait, how did you know I was going to ask for that?" Frost: "Come on, even all the posters on HB knew"15 points

You would think it was obvious but there were people on this board that thought it was not necessary7 points

Memba the days when we only had a clear starter and a "dear god I hope we don't need him" back up QB to talk about? I memba! Now we talk about the 3, 4, 5 deep... #blessed7 points

If Alex Moran from Blue Mountain State taught me anything it’s that the best job in the world is second string QB.6 points

Best of luck to the young man. He has marketable skills and will likely do well in his career.6 points

Man you sure are taking other peoples opinions on Gebbia being the starter personally. Not even bad mouthing POB, just simply stating Gebbia throws a nice ball or has a good arm. Everyone here has an opinion and those opinions dont matter come Sept 3. If POB is the starter, nobody will want him to fail.6 points

I have a very difficult time understanding how someone can be this vile towards a child who survived a mass shooting.5 points

Frost has already run off two scholarship QBs and we only have two left on the roster. #FireFrost4 points

This shouldn't be a shock to anyone on the board. Most were thinking that POB would struggle with the speed and athleticism component required in Frost's offense. He's just not a good fit. He will look to transfer to a school which could still be running an out-dated offense.4 points

I guess I don’t get where the POB is too slow thinking comes from. Frost said himself that a 4.7 guy is definitely capable of running this offense; i.e. Derron Thomas. POB had a similar 40 time, and had 640 yards/13 TDs on the ground as a junior. As a senior he had 626 yards and 8 touchdowns. He even had a receiving td. When Lee had his concussion that wasn’t a concussion but was a concussion, POB was able to get 41 yards on the ground, with 14-yard and 12-yard gains. Unfortunately, our line had decided to turn from leaky faucet to a busted dam allowing seven sacks. SEVEN!!! That negated his rushing yardage. I know when I saw O’Brien running with intent, he was able to get decent chunks.4 points

There is a HUGE difference between any of that and "pulling for POB to fail".4 points

This is the great thing about competition and communication, the guys can see how they rank and they self select to go find a better fit. This is best for everyone. I respect POB for seeking new challenges.3 points

Just wanted to reiterate why it is important to take a QB in EVERY recruiting class. No exceptions.3 points

I think the last comment is a little unfair. Lots of different ways to skin a cat on offense these days. I don't think anyone would accuse Mike Norvell of running an outdated offense and his QBs traditionally don't run a lick outside of an occasional zone read.3 points

I'm convinced most people (including self-declared constitutionalists) couldn't tell you what the Second Amendment actually says, let alone the rest of the US Constitution.2 points

Didn't they look at his high school film and high school stats and see that he could run the ball?2 points

This is just evil. Voted for Demorrio Williams, but there's no wrong vote here.2 points

I've got some juicy goss that fits with this narrative.... I have a sibling at UNL, who said the first time they "met" POB (met in quotes because when he sat down at the table of 2-3 people he wouldn't acknowledge said sibling) he referred to himself multiple times as "The Savior of Nebraska Football" before even going through a season.... I also heard a rumor that Uncle Rico is his life coach. I know the first rumor to be true, the second I am 50/50 on2 points

I don't know any of the players, therefore I don't care who wins the QB job as long as he's the best QB.2 points

He recorded no stats in 2017. http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=211597942 He had never played football in his life before walking on, and we know nothing about his athletic ability. It's possible to have great measurables for football but not be good at football. If he didn't play it's because he wasn't good enough. Maybe he will be before he graduates.2 points
