  1. I don't think they would've issued a CA arrest warrant for Washington if they didn't have jurisdiction. Maybe don't hire your buddy if you ever need a lawyer.

  2. It's hilarious because there are probably just as many immigrants working jobs that require 4 year degrees as those working jobs that require no education at all. I'm a millennial with two four years degrees and still crawl around on my hands and knees, cut up my hands, and ruin shirts with grease stains so maybe let's stop over generalizing everyone. Oh, and I have a friend who works a construction type job even though he has a finance degree. He wants to switch but he'd take too large of a pay cut starting over. Another friend has a master in construction management and busts his a$$ on the job. A number of friends framed houses to pay for college. I think they would tell you, and you probably know if you work construction, that it breaks your body. Some people simply don't want to sacrifice their bodies the rest of their life for money they could get with out jeopardizing their future well being. Quite a few friends have got a degree and went back to the farm. Some use their degree and farm the side. So you over generalization of my generation is stupid, to put it nicely.

  6. If they cops weren't being forthright in what they wanted to discuss (they usually won't be), then you definitely don't talk to them without a lawyer. We've already established that they were vague with the University, and I doubt they were any less vague with Mo and his lawyer.

  8. I'm a huge fan of Yang. Love his ideas. Listening to him talk, he actually has me believing UBI is worth it. I wish he would get more traction. Love to see him be able to get in the debates and have more people see him with any of the other Dems. I think people would love this guy. Here he is on Joe Rogan's podcast. Long but worth a listen/view.

  9. You're right. Bigots, racists, homphobes, xenophobes and abusers do a good enough job painting themselves into a corner already as we've seen in this thread. Falsifying attacks of any kind and lying to police is reprehensible.

  10. Pay more. Provide training. Perpetuate the skills. Construction used to pay a living wage. Now it's a low-paying churn-through job where they hire & fire people quickly to keep labor costs down. If you can swing a hammer you're hired. If you start making too much, you're gone because they'll find the next guy. For about the same wage as a construction job in Nebraska, a person can work inside at an air-conditioned call center. Which do you think they'll choose?

  11. He's a self proclaimed lifelong Democrat that thinks the party is moving too far left. He should run as a Democrat and try to push the party in the direction he thinks it needs to go. If his ideas are worthwhile people will vote for him as a Dem. If he really wants to make a difference how about pushing a national initiative for ranked choice voting. Right now there's nothing a third party candidate for POTUS can accomplish aside from playing spoiler.

  12. One time during high school practice, a guy one year older than me who played linebacker but always struck me as too skinny for the position was involved in a collision so jarring he crapped his pants and had to leave practice. That guy wasn't me. Vote for me and I can promise you you'll have a backer that won't crap all over themselves.

  16. It could've meant something, it could've meant nothing. I don't think there's enough information to have an informed opinion either way. Washington has the right to remain silent and no charges were brought against him last fall. And, according to Bruning, the CA county attorneys were being hostile and unprofessional at the time. So, legally speaking, they had no obligation to do anything and it could actually benefit them in court.

  17. Where are these millennials that don't want to work? I keep hearing about them but have not actually met one. And considering unemployment is very low, how many, exactly, are we talking about?

  18. I'm sure you know this but since Schultz is running as an independent he doesn't have to prepare for the primary. He can keep talking in vague platitudes until Nov 2020 and siphon off just enough votes to make sure Trump wins a second term. It's not that people are upset that he's rich; they're upset that him being rich is the only reason he's getting attention because he certainly doesn't have any concrete ideas. If he didn't have a billion dollars he would just be some dude running for President that nobody had ever heard of and would have never had a CNN townhall.

  29. Most jobs that used to not require a degree now require a degree. Many millennials who go to college go to college out of necessity, and then do jobs that have nothing to do with their major because they have to. Also, illegal immigration was at its peak about 20 years ago. Pretty sure the illegal immigrants didn't come here back then without jobs available. So you're blaming millennials for not doing jobs that their predecessors also didn't do. Related, looks like the gap in unemployment rate hasn't changed much over the years.

  30. I think we can all agree on this. Trump enabling the white supremacists and calling them "very fine people," the "lock her up" chants that go on at his rallies to this day, the inciting of attacks on the press... it's scary out there to be labeled something other than conservative. Kamala Harris, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Corey Booker, all labeled and dismissed daily. Yeah, we have people on this very board trying to shame those of us who use "too many links" to provide factual evidence in a discussion. It's crazy. Yep. How many of us are constantly called "libs" or "dems" or whatever pet diminutive the angry anti-truthers want to use. But it's only shaming if you accept their opprobrium, remember that. Amen, man. Amen. I remember when there was a request by two or three members right here on HuskerBoard to have a separate conservatives-only section of P&R so they didn't have to listen to "the libs." People complain to the Mods about "the libs" all the time, trying to stop the voices of people they disagree with.

  32. I have to ask. Have you read any of the linked articles (granted, they don't relay much solid information) and followed the story and discussion at all? Or did you just see the titles of the two potential charges he may face? You know he dated her......we think we know he received the video when they were both minors but allegedly sent it to her two years later. You know that in Cali when a minor has consensual sex they still consider it assault because the minor apparently can not give consent even if the action was her idea. You know she and the 2 who supposedly "assaulted" her were all 3 kicked out of their high school when the video came to light. How far do you think a school would get expelling the victim of an assault? We think we know one of the youth who allegedly "assaulted" her got the harsh punishment of...... probation. None of this gives you pause, you're only concerned if he knew she was 15 at the time? I'm guessing he knows exactly how old she is since they dated. I'm guessing he knows a lot more about her than any of us do and likely much about the circumstances of the alleged "assault". BTW, yes I know if this deal doesn't end up being what I think it is, I will look like a complete a$$hole. For the record, I have a daughter that is 19. If she had been sexually assaulted, no way I'm letting her school kick her out and the perps wouldn't get off with probation because they'd still be trying to find any trace of their missing bodies to be able to give them probation.

They might have an extra win but this team looked awful with Copeland in. Miles just cant handle the pressure when they are predicted to be something good. When teams give us there best shot we shrink.

  36. I'm not sure what that means. ACTUAL violence against gays, ACTUAL violence against Blacks does happen every day. And those crimes are on the rise. Nobody believes this guy, and there were lots of open skeptics about it from the first report. He's shamed himself and he's going to get what he deserves. Likely written out of his show and shunned by Hollywood for a while.

  39. I think the disdain people have for Schultz and others is that they have a very different view of what America is like compared to the vast majority of the public. Trump, for instance, thought his highest ranking generals made $5M/year (It's around $180-$200K) Schultz has no idea what food in a grocery store costs. I'm not saying that makes them bad. It just makes them appear to be unaware of what the middle class is. So there is going to be apprehension of trust, disdain, etc

  40. As an Industrial Tech teacher, I'd say the problem is more with the PARENTS having no interest in their kids doing anything that doesn't require a 4 year degree and requires getting dirty. The kids in our building love wood working, working on engines, and are BEGGING for a welding class.

  42. My mistake. I assumed since everyone, including news sources, were now referring to it as assault that obviously somebody would’ve been charged with assault. I also thought that somebody (you IIRC) told me probation was the punishment one of the boys received for the assault. Mistakenly I assumed they found no evidence of assault but gave him the lighter punishment for distributing the video. My bad. Based on the revelation that California considers 15 year olds having consensual sex as assault, just as they would a rape victim being assaulted. The state of California lumps them together. That was my intent. Yes, technically it is porn. But if it was consensual and the people involved were all okay with it......until it got out to the public. The wording of the charges against Mo just strikes me as unnecessarily inflammatory. It feels almost as if Mo is being railroaded on many fronts. The title of the charges. The articles I’ve seen with pictures show Mo in his Husker uniform and the little innocent victim kneeling down with her cute little puppy wearing a birthday hat. The tone and phrasing of the NBC Bay Area article.....Something doesn’t feel right about referring to her as a victim of sexual assault before anyone is actually charged with sexual assault. It’s not like they don’t know who to charge. The least they could do is throw an “alleged” in there. Feels like an intentional attempt to make him look as guilty as possible and to present her as completely innocent and as a legitimate victim with no proof and no charges filed.

  44. I don't think what knapplc is saying is obtuse in any way. We have several fans who want him off the team. What if he isn't kicked off the team? What do those fans do? That's the question he's posing. I can already say what they're going to do with almost complete certainty - the vast majority of them are going to forget MW's legal troubles and scream their throats dry the first time he scores a touchdown in 2019. It boils down to elitist posturing.
