  1. I've always found Iowa to be bordered by the Mississippi River on one side, and the Missouri River on the other.

  4. That’s a strange mental twist to come up with that.

  5. so...Bo is threatening to STAY at YSU unless they hire Carl to take over?

  6. trump did impeachable things the day he entered office, so that Republican talking point has never held water.

  7. Works eight months out of the year? Wut?? Between recruiting, summer camp, fall camp, watching film, game planning, managing staff, more recruiting, and winter testing—I doubt if Scott Frost takes 15 days off a year.

  8. They don't. But this is the line propaganda outlets like Fox News hammer home so lots of people will repeat it, though.

  9. There are valid reasons to dislike Bo and I’m glad he isn’t a HC at Nebraska anymore, but he has been right about everything in regard to Nebraska program since he left. I’d love for him to return as a DC. If it weren’t for his temperament that rubbed people wrong (must not like Saban either) and leaked audios (those individuals did more damage to the university than Bo ever caused), the people jumping to trash him wouldn’t hold their opinions. My issue with him is lack of recruiting and hiring buddies. Right now, SF does one those things better and is on par with the latter. It wasn’t a good look and there was collateral damage after taking out his emotions on Eichorst and Perlman. You can measure wins/losses, but can’t measure how bad SE and HP dooked all over the football program.

  10. It's almost like some people... just want to vote for Trump.

  12. Bo is one of the best passing defensive coaches I've ever seen. If I was an NFL owner I would hire him as a DC yesterday. Head coach? No

  13. Remember how Pelini's name used to come up every time a D1 head coaching job opened? This happened for two or three years after he got canned from NU. But he never got hired for any of those open HC jobs. There's a reason for that. It's because he's a hot headed jacka$$ who who has temper tantrums on the field. That's why he got fired from Nebraska. It wasn't because he was a bad coach. It was because he was an embarrassment to the University. If Pelini could control his temper he'd make around $3,000,000 per year as an FBS head coach. Maybe more. He's a terrific football guy and he'd be a great head coach. IF he could control his temper. But he can't. He'd be an embarrassment to any school he represented. Pelini would probably be a even better DC than a head coach. As a top tier FBS defensive coordinator he'd stand to make at least $800,000 or so. But even as a DC his on-field temper tantrum antics would be an embarrassment. (Edit: Well, maybe not in the SEC.) That's why he remains the HC of Youngstown State pulling down $200,000. He's a prisoner of his own emotions.

  14. So Democrats walked over to the pen that Moscow Mitch is keeping the press in to discuss the events of the day, but Republicans are running past them, not answering questions? THAT must be how the Democrats are making us vote for trump!

  15. People would like prosecutors more if they stopped prosecuting criminals. What a bizarre thing to say. It implies trump is the victim. Despite everything we've seen from the guy.

  17. Hmm I guess I could care less about a coach getting upset on the sideline. Plenty of major successful coaches do that and if we were winning conference championships with Bo the amount of people upset about him being upset would have shrunk significantly. Would be a nice pickup for LSU after losing Aranda imo. They dont need him to recruit that well and with good players he has proven he can put together an elite defense especially as more and more teams transition to spread offenses.

  18. Right there in the article. Some people will use any excuse to disqualify a Democrat so they can justify being "forced" to vote for Trump. Trump has said 1,000 things worse than this, but the same people won't point that out. Funny how that works, innit? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  20. I've seen the yes man comment from several people and I really don't get it. When you have worked with and respect someone's opinion you are way more likely to listen to them. He hired Lubick last year to consult for him and I doubt he paid him to just be like yup coach I think what you're doing is working. If Frost brings in someone like Joseph, who he has never worked with, and he starts telling him how wrong he is doing things most people would react brashly to that unless they knew they needed a change. Lubick can come in and say look coach you're going at it this way and and I think we need to look at it differently. Frost is going to respect that coming from a guy he coached with and likely already respects a lot.

  21. I don't feel sorry for him by any means. But to think he works 8 months a year is laughable.

  22. As long as we're drawing conclusions from their situation, there are interesting parallels with Chinander there. 3rd year DC with the team, first 2 years underwhelming but with slight improvements. Much of our fanbase would've wanted Saleh gone before this year, but in this case sticking with him worked. Hopefully it's the same with Chins.

  25. Yeah, it's gotta be tough for Scott Frost to try to whip a team into shape with players who act like 19 and 20 year old kids. Oh wait...

  27. Oh, that famous Sean Eichorst line. The Ginger Assassin's quote will live in infamy as long as Nebraska toils here in the land of the mediocre. But a recent couple of tweets by Sam McKewon shows a decent barometer of where Iowa has been. And it's been pretty good. So how does Nebraska measure up? Talent-wise, not so well. And the results - five straight losses and six out of our last seven - also not so good. But Sam's second tweet gives a little better context. In the black-and-white world many of the most vocal HuskerBoard posters live in, when we lose, that's the whole thing - no barometer of how close the margin of loss was. For others, there may be some glimmers of hope. Like Sam said - those were talented Iowa teams, especially the last two years. Iowa went 10-3 in 2019 and 9-4 in 2018, finishing ranked both times. And we lost to them by a field goal, twice. So a couple of hips and a hooray, right? Progress?

  28. If there's anyone who thinks Walters was a yes man, and think (or suspect) that Frost wants another one, can you answer one question for me, please? Why, exactly, do you think Frost fired Walters? If Frost just wants yes men, wouldn't he have just stayed the course?

  29. And there it is. The only people celebrating this are Republicans and Trump supporters. When you see people talking about this, pay attention to what they're saying.

  30. Nebraska has many of the same obstacles faced by Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Utah, Boise State, Virginia Tech, and other schools that have built winning programs recently. Other teams that have all the advantages we want, including UCLA, Texas, and Florida State have strung together some pretty crappy seasons across multiple coaches. We have to be a little more clever, but it's not like there's no way back for teams not in Ohio or Alabama. I actually think the recent development of downtown Lincoln helps our case with recruits, coaching staffs and their wives. Gotta stop thinking small and humble.

  31. Oh, you you already convicted him? As someone that posts a ton of stuff about doing the right thing and believing in doing the right thing it is a bit hypocritical so have already found him guilty when the actual process has not played out. Now...I fully believe in being a hypocrite, so I am fine with it but you are not fine with that, are you? But, like Cindy Lauper said...I see your true colors...and girls just wanna have fun.

  34. I’m still in awe of the husker fan base that is in love with blo. Talk about battered wife syndrome. I know Riley shoulders much of the blame for current state but pelini did as much if not more to damage the program and fan base that any coach over the past 20 yrs.

  36. Ferentz is the best in the business at developing offensive lineman. Parker (their DC) is also criminally underrated. I would also throw in the they are a pro style team which translates more to the NFL.

  37. That is bc they do such a good job of developing guys. The guys on our roster have never had that chance. Either do to losing Position coaches every other year, changing schemes, or turnover of roster due to staff change. That trend should be starting to change as Frost's first couple classes start to grow up. Iowa has had some talent. You can almost make the argument that they underachieve for the talent they have on the roster.

  38. Here's why Fox News is so crucial to the Republican party. Once hooked, they can blind their constituency to anything. You can pick the Fox watchers out on here by their comments. It's super easy. But what's weird is, when you say something, they deny watching it. Every time. Almost like they know what's going on, and just don't want to care.

  39. Carl might have a better demeanor for the head coach position than Bo. Carl doesn't go spastic over every penalty and miscue like Bo. Carl could actually be a good HC at a place like Youngstown State. Just sayin..

  40. keep investigating but don't impeach. just let the facts drip drip drip into the pubic domain and campaign against a crooked senate that obstructs justice. the campaign might be more strategic to let the senate convict itself and see if it can't be turned.

  41. That report sounds bogus just because of the bolded. No way in hell Carl would ever be seriously considered for a head job again unless we are talking high school

  42. Well we can close this thread now. We hardly knew ya. Thanks for the update Frostberg. Unless people want to comment on Bo in general - have at it. Ok, where is that Rumor forum Knapp posted and requesting it be reinstated

  43. I remember when Frost was hired. To paraphrase, if you want to work hard and put in effort this will be the most fun playing football you will ever have. If not, this probably isn't for you.....With the roster flip, comments and performance, it would appear that Frost's way was not for a lot of guys.....
