  1. Did he miss a game that I wasn't aware of? My guess is that he put that picture out there to try to quiet the narrative that he's not around the program.

  2. Bo did it. he figured out how to keep florida from scoring this week!

  3. Why? Because a prominent coach tested positive? It seems to me that the vast majority of people involved have been fine and the programs and conferences have put in place pretty intense safety structures.

  4. Exactly why waste time here when you can go read 100+ pages about Bo and Riley after they left.

  5. So.....salute Husker players, coaches, and parents for fighting to get the 2020 season back, hate on the national sports pundits for dissing Nebraska, but.........don't bother to watch the game because you know we're going to lose? WTF is wrong with you people?

  7. I'm not saying this to slight Luke or say that he can't have drastically improved to the point he could win the job outright. If he really has improved to that point as a passer, then we should be ecstatic because we are going to have an excellent quarterback. But last year they basically had Luke running a glorified version of the Wildcat. He had a sweep play, a read-option play, a handful of screen passes, a shovel pass, a three-step play and then a heavy play action deep-shot play off the sweep action (that he threw both his touchdowns on). Frost called it a "package" and it really was just that: a handful of plays outside of the normal structure of the offense to be run with Luke specifically in the game. He was not trusted in games to run the full playbook and was not asked to make complex reads of coverage as Martinez and Vedral were. Luke looked incredibly explosive in this limited package and it was nearly enough to beat Indiana, which is great, but this is kind of a classic example of a small sample size: a guy with nine pass attempts in favorable conditions being compared to a guy who has had over 600 attempts to show us his flaws. If Luke had been/is the full-time starter, he would have been asked to make those complex coverage reads and would have had to make some throws to receivers without three yards of separation, and he would have shown some warts, and possibly (probably, even) a lot more than Martinez. It's very easy to get mad at Martinez for the dumb interception against Purdue or the dumb out-of-bounds decision on the final drive against Iowa because we've seen it and can hold it against him; it's likewise very easy to believe Luke wouldn't do the same thing because we truly haven't seen how he would respond in that same environment so everything is theoretical.

  9. This is where film > TV. We saw Martinez looked lost on innumerable pass plays last year. What the TV doesn't show is a receiver running wrong or bad routes. Martinez is coached to key on pre-snap and quick, post snap keys to then deliver a pass. There are a lot of things fans didn't see. However, I am pumped Luke is in the conversation. Some wilt under that pressure, some get better. We'll see who rises...

  12. Amazing how often the "joke" about Jurgens being moved from TE is used in reference to other players and then we see signs of what he will do at the position as well as the watch list that he is on. But still see time and time again the silly stabs at our staff for being so dumb.

  14. I applaud social media sites for attempting to mitigate disinformation and propaganda. I don't view this as censorship. It's their service and everyone is free to choose if they use it or not. They have every right to ban things they don't want on their lawn (as somebody put it). Disinformation is a huge and growing problem. We've already lost so many to it's consequences. It is getting harder by the day to tell fact from fiction. There is just way too much bullsh#t being spread. I'd say it's one of our biggest challenges. I think it's of more imminent concern than even global warming or environmental issues. If anyone hasn't seen them, there are a couple shows you need to watch. The Social Dilemma on Netflix and Agents of Chaos on HBO. If you can watch those and not think we have a serious problem...IDK. I think all we can do is be diligent in vetting our sources and not trust anyone or anything implicitly. Unfortunately there are big chunks of many generations who have already lost the battle. I hate to say it but there probably is no getting them back. They need to be written off. We must do better educating future generations and learn how to deal with the whackos.

  19. Influence, duh. Same thing China is paying Ivanka and Jared for. Same thing Saudi Arabia is paying Jared for. Same thing all these companies having the other stooge trump children do appearances for. They're clods with zero influence other than their connection to their father. You can't with a straight face expect anyone to believe you care one whit about Hunter Biden without absolutely going off on the trump kids. Because at worst Hunter Biden is doing what they're doing. Again, you can't with a straight face expect anyone to believe this without first acknowledging that this is entirely your cheeto god's M.O. If you're claiming Biden is a backdoor deal ace, and that you're against that... what the hell are you doing supporting Donald?

  21. The quote above is somewhat of an indication that what you wrote here was at least part of the problem. If 2AM couldn't trust the WRs to be running the correct route, then he is going to look hesitant and lost at times.

  27. Here's the kink @Guy Chamberlin wants. China grants 18 trademarks in 2 months to Trump, daughter Americans, not Chinese, pay Trump tariffs: NY Fed study They didn't miss this at all but trumpettes did because they live in a bubble of fear of the truth What a super curious thing to say. Why would business want to get rid of your super-dooper pro-business Oompa Loompa? SUPER WEIRD Such valuable conversation. I can see why this is something the hysterics would want to preserve.

  29. The Civil situation is different because Tech officially denied that they are media companies. Some of them actually outright lied and said that they don't discriminate against conservatives. That can lead to major civil consequences. On the plus side everyone knows their liars and hates them for it.

  30. good point - i had frost on my mind which would be daily but yes SEC is on a plan that isn't as good as ours. This is why we should make all 9 games where the SEC could explode. But either way being tested 3x per week has got to be safer then the average person walking down the street.

  33. I didn't say that you were saying that either. So I guess we agree there. You've been basically saying that he can't really be that close to Martinez because the coaches didn't trust him with very much last year. There doesn't seem to be any basis for that other than you just don't want to believe it. Which is fine if that's what you think. But it doesn't really make much sense to think that someone couldn't have gotten better from one year to the next.

  36. The hearings are an utter waste of time. I haven't listened to one second and I don't plan to. We won't learn anything about her at all other than what a tremendous family she has and how much admiration she has for Scalia. We learn nothing about how she feels about issues because she doesn't want to get Borked. You could ask her if the sky our blue or the grass is green and she'd say she can't weigh in on hypotheticals. And they're going to ram her through anyway, so what's the point? We don't learn anything from the process and no one's vote changes. So the GOP has successfully radicalized SCOTUS by having no shame. So the next logical question is how do we right that wrong, and how heavy a political price can we make them pay?
