I don't think that's really fair at all. Their abilities as a passer are not really even close, as was pretty evident this year.

I don't think he's taking a scholarship from anyone, as those scholarships are good for one academic year. It's not like Frost could have taken that scholarship and given it to someone else to use this spring semester.

Last season Adrian was a very efficient deep passer and it was "Adrian needs to stop trying to hit a home run every play and learn to take the singles that are there." Now that he completed 70 percent of his passes and showed real growth in reading coverages, it's "Adrian can't throw deep." He needs to take better care of the ball, but this dude can't win with some of you.

It is often proven that they are completely wrong. Riley had a dedicated special teams coordinator and gave several scholarship out specifically for specialists. The results were pretty poor. Frost had a position coach with the Special Teams Coordinator title for his first two years here. The results were pretty poor. There isn't one "right" way to do it. If there was, everyone would do it that way. There isn't any guarantee that doing it a certain way will produce great results. We've tried them all in the last six years and failed at all of them. Frost saw it wasn't working and is going a different direction. That's pretty much what people wanted him to do. He might not have gone about it exactly like people want but, as illustrated above, that really doesn't mean much.

The most important stat line @ Rutgers: 2 ints; 3 fumbles, 2 lost for a total of 4 turnovers. If he does that against a good team not playing their 2nd and 3rd string QBs the outlook on Martinez going into the offseason is much different.

No staff changes. Friendships are more important than winning to Frost. Im done with him after this season if its the same ole s#!t. I would have given him more time if he would have made the nexessary staff changes, but he dug his own grave with this one.

AM has been the worst downfield passing QB in the B1G and one of the worst in the nation the last 2 years. I think he fits the couldn't part just fine.

Martinez will still be a junior in 2021, and we aren't asking him to play WR so that's quite different.

Last night I re-watched the Rutgers game, for the first time. Without the stress of winning or losing, Adrian looked really good. He seems to do some awkward things that other top Qbs do not do. His straight run to the sideline was really odd. Sliding short of the first down vs. Purdue. His fumbles in the Rutgers game were after great runs. I think it is all mental for him right now. If the pieces around him can help him relax and take pressure off, he will be very special again.

Projecting your nonsense onto @funhusker and @BigRedBuster is not fair to them. You posted the transphobic tweets from Ben Shapiro and Abigail Shrier, own up to it. Asking questions in good faith about this subject is not transphobic. Hyperbolic fear-mongering, on the other hand, is. I don't believe that any of us on this board are bona fide experts on gender dynamics, and it can be a complex issue. So we can have a discussion about the gender spectrum, civil rights policy, what it means for sports and restrooms, etc, without being alarmist, offensive, or disrespectful (that discussion should be in a different thread, imo). But the tweets that you pasted here without comment were not made in good faith about the transgender community or gender dynamics. What points were Ben Shapiro and Abigail Shrier trying to make with their tweets, and what are their views on the transgender community (I'll go ahead and answer: their views are horrific, and they were trying to stir up more fear and bigotry). What point were you trying to make when you posted them here? And compare funhusker's and BRB's questions with the intent of you and your twitter follows. Do you understand the difference?

Only disappointment in keeping the staff in place is special teams. I'll hold out hope they make it Ruud or Dawson's responsibility. An analyst can help, but we need someone that has on the field responsibilities for their performance in practice and on game days. In my experience you need someone to "own" the task, in order to see results, and frankly it's not possible for an analyst to own this task.

If you've watched the Husker program for 35 years and can't tell that Frost has a focus on getting the offensive line to be the strength of the offense then I would take a look a your diagnostic methodology.

Also can't blame McCaffrey for transferring at all. If that's what ultimately happens that is. The sad thing is with Mills departure he would have easily been the best returning ball carrier on the entire team. My confidence in Frost, Lubick and Verduzco at this moment isn't at what I'd call at an all time high so there's that also. Can't blame him.

@Gorillahawk And Martinez seemed to have little trouble finding Stanley Morgan on deep balls in his freshman year. Kinda funny how the problem started when Stanley left, huh? But a lot of people here prefer the explanation that Verduzco cast a voodoo mind control spell on Adrian to turn him into a terrible QB.

Whats he supposed to say? We sucked and I'm not happy with our current players? That's a good way to lose the locker room. I'd say that Frost is a lot more honest with his players in small position group or individual meetings then he is when he talks about them to the media.

Unfortunate that our fan base has become a circular firing squad in light of current circumstances. We should be on the same team. Confronting the state of our program is not meant to be a lecture. The last 4 seasons are more powerful proof of our situation than anything I can say. If we have to squint to find success or progress, than we need to ask ourselves whether this is moving in the right direction. Message boards are poor venues for showing sincerity. i genuinely hope this works out, not because it proves someone right and someone wrong, but because we will be a happier fan base for it.

You are missing the point of the post. It has nothing to do with player retention - which I agree with you was bad under Riley. Perhaps go back and read the post I was responding to so you have more context concerning my post.

It's possible. It's also possible that, as reported above, McCaffrey is not planning on going into the Portal right away so Frost is still hoping he'll end up staying. I just don't think there are really any conclusions to be drawn from what he said with any certainty.

Eh ... you're pretty much always going to give the impression that a player is here for the long term. Until they've said differently.

Interesting rabbit hole. The Nebraska Aggies were at one time coached by Robert C. Russell, and appear to have had some connections to Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity (although that may just be a reference to Russell). They represented the School of Agriculture from UNL's East Campus Ag School per this Daily Nebraskan article from 1933. They played teams like Doane, Harvard (NE), Nebraska Wesleyan, York, etc. They also had a basketball team.

Idealism and realism routinely come into conflict and I typically call things as I see them. Perhaps I missed the 7 year plan for success that Coach Frost presented 3 years ago and am thus premature in my program assessment. Having watched this program for 35 years, I wish I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. Believe me, I want this to work more than anything. Scott Frost is a terrific ambassador for our program and a great competitor. Sometimes though, circumstances dictate another direction. I just feel that momentum in a variety of areas is heading towards another change (as painful as that may be for some). Despite our disagreement here, we all want the same thing, a program we can be proud of on and off the field.

True, but there were decisions made that led to him ending up in that position that he could control. I'm not saying slide necessarily (this one might have been right at the 1st down marker?), but not putting yourself in spots where you're being flipped or a defender has a clean shot at the ball can be done most of the time. Easier said than done for sure though.

If he cleans up the fumbles and we give him receivers who can get open, a line that can consistently pass pro/snap him the ball, and backs who can take the rushing burden off of him, I truly think Adrian is an all-conference quarterback. He is extremely talented.

Those were never part of the paper Republicans are trying to retcon into a "plan." 1.6 million people were vaccinated yesterday - great! That shows the determination of the American people to put this mess behind us. Because despite any coherent response from trump, the actual medical professionals and those who care, community to community, are trying to get this done. Over our last four games, Martinez completed 85.8% of his passes. Went five straight games without an INT until Rutgers.

Did you read the 4th paragraph? The health centers are already doing it, and it makes sense to freeze something like this to make sure they agree with it, since the previous admin was full of incompetent people with questionable motives. One EO order from Trump that could be really great is the Most Favored Nation EO. This is what I've been wanting to happen for awhile (assuming there aren't hidden parts I'm unaware of). Drugs should be as cheap in the U.S. as they are in other countries, or cheaper if they are made in the U.S., and the U.S. is big and wealthy enough with enough profit even with lower prices that we should be able to bargain for it with drug companies outside the country as well.

He had the US Naval Academy on his Congressional bio under Education long enough the people took screenshots of it, but I think he's since taken it down.

Would this be considered one of those retractions? Would this be a good reason to NOT rely on anonymous sources?
