  1. Count me in the camp as being really excited for Adrian this year. I think he finally has confidence in his teammates and in himself. I understand Frost was trying to create competition by splitting reps with McCaffery last year but ultimately I think it hurt Adrians confidence and he played not to make mistakes. Ultimately I think him knowing he’s the man will be good for him and the rest of the offense. Also hopefully he will feel more comfortable playing at a more natural weight for him. I look forward to him breaking some big runs this year! Now pass that kool-aid!

  2. I think Adrian is going to surprise alot of people this year. With a better OL, a better group of recievers , I'm expecting great things from AM.

  3. I see a problem with it. there are literally millions of people who have gotten the vaccine and the data is clear. It’s safe and effective. No reason to be hesitant.

  4. I'd be happy if he could stay out of the national top 10 in fumbles this year unlike each of his first 3 years.

  7. Healthy skepticism is a good practice in life, but what we're seeing among the unvaccinated population at this point in time is more willful ignorance. The vaccines also can not be considered "experimental" based on the protocols and trial phases they have successfully completed. It is categorically inaccurate to refer to them as experimental. That said, I will accept anyone who is vaccine hesitant if they can prove the following to me: - They don't eat fast food or processed foods (1x/week or less) - They don't drink soda - They don't have more than 1-2 alcoholic drinks per week - They exercise a min. of 5 days a week - They drink a min. of 64 oz. of water a day - They get a min. of 7-8 hours of sleep per night - They are not obese or clinically overweight - They do not vape, smoke, or ingest similar types of toxins into their body - They get a recommended amount of Vitamin D and sun exposure in their daily routine In my opinion, anybody who fails some or a majority of the items on that list is doing far more damage to their body on a regular basis... and probably has done for years. Yet they're worried about a vaccine that, by scientific consensus, is safe and effective? Yikes.

  9. I am more excited about this offensive line than I have been in decades. As they grow and work together, they should be pretty special the following year.

  11. The problem is that some sources are apparently lying about the Delta Variant impacting almost entirely the vaccinated. I have no idea where they get this, but due to the Backfire Effect, any and all attempts to explain it will likely be met with "FAKE NEWS!" and/or "YOU'RE PART OF THE CABAL!" type of reactions instead of learning how to actually read and interpret scientific studies etc. etc., you know, things that require years-long effort :|

  14. If the past year and a half has taught me anything, it’s the staggering number of Right Wingers in this country who have little to no concern for what’s best for society. All you R’s out there, Why is that? Your perceived personal “freedoms” “trump” potentially saving tens of thousands of lives. These are human beings just like you and me. For a party who claims to want to protect unborn babies, many of you seem to care awfully little for them when they do enter this world.

  15. These numbers are what makes this season so important in my opinion. These are experienced roster with multiple years of eligibility left. If they make big strides they will have a year or two to use that momentum. And hopefully do some great things. At the very least they could get some wind back in the recruiting sails. If this year looks like the last two, this is the team we have for the foreseeable future. Not a ton of reinforcements lining up at the moment. I have faith in this team though. I’m excited to watch! I feel they are capable of winning 8 games plus a bowl. Yes, I’m aware “potential” doesn’t always equal “reality” but it’s why I’m stoked for the season to start.

  18. That's why the post stated the numbers are skewed due to the free year, but again all teams are like this. End of the day that's a lot of freshmen

  20. His number to run the ball isn't called too much. A few times per quarter. Most of his rush attempts occur when the pass protection collapses, or no one is open, or he doesn't see that one open guy. Those extra runs happen when things break down quickly. And most people will agree that this year he has an improved OL and receivers. So those extra pocket runs won't happen as often as in the past. IMO

  23. I am excited about Luke Reimer and seeing Kolarevic (Inside LBs). Last year Reimer had 40 tackles, second on team in sacks, third in TFLs. He's gonna be ballin' this year even more.

  24. I have a ton of confidence in Toure, Austin Allen, Oliver Martin, Volkaseltzer (sp?), Betts. I have a lot of hope in Manning. I feel good about the depth, including Hickman (TE). It's a real solid group. Should have some play makers making plays this year.

  26. It’s misleading to say they are young. Many of those freshmen have been here one or two years. The way that is stated makes it look like 51 players just got to campus.

  27. Yeah... well, again, the "captain" guys on the team are most often elected by the players but sometimes appointed by coaches. I always respect both ways, but lean toward players elevated to captain by their peers, even though coaches can often see leadership qualities players might not see. I dare say some of the leaders/captains in recent years have not lived up to their titles.

  29. The order potentially screws up the logistics of federal proceedings. One of the complaints that caused Abbott to act was a group leaving a Catholic Charity shelter to go get fast food. Imagine the immigration court the next day expecting to process and possibly deport or at least let us know who is in the country never seeing the people because they have been scooped up and taken somewhere with no access to show up for the hearing. But I also see why people waiting for a hearing shouldn’t be allowed to wander around town. I’d support Abbott a lot more in this if he actually showed concern about COVID matters in other areas though. The courts will get to do their jobs in this one.

  31. Has it sunk in for the OU and TX fanbases yet? They took the mountain of cash and what are they getting for it? TX just went from the middle of the pack with a potential slim shot at losing the conference title game to OU, to being bottom dwellers in the SEC. Missouri has reserved a spot for you. OU just went from perennial conference champions in the Big 12 (with maybe one loss to KSU) to 2-3 losses in the SEC and most likely not even getting into the conference title game. The environment of the away games in the Big 12 are nothing compared to the hostile environment away games in the SEC. This will go down as more of a win for the pocket books of ESPN, SEC and the Athletic Departments of OU/TX, than a win for their respective fanbases.

  32. The way it could, per my limited understanding, is by giving the conference(s) a stronger place to negotiate from with their next media deal. All us B1G teams don't generate an average of $55m, that's what we receive due to a really well bargained media rights deal with Fox/ESPN.

  33. I think we did one with walks several years ago. Only a 4 person league and everyone kinda petered out as the season went on. I'd be down to try it again

  34. The reports are that the conference absolutely took notice of the massive ratings our recent games against Colorado got. They want more of that. And the conference wants the mountain time zone. And they are both desirable road game travel locations for a lot of teams in our conference. Stanford doesn’t move the needle to me outside of some silly academic boasting the conference wants to do. Same with UCLA. At risk of complimenting Colorado too much, I do think they’d be much more relevant with Big10 money but they’d still be our little brother and that’s okay with me.

  37. That isn't going to happen. The SEC is a much different conference than the BIG12. NU found out the BIG was MUCH different than the BIG12- and we stumbled pretty badly with not having the right type of kids and scheme to effectively compete against the BIG teams week in and week out. Frost had to do the same- when he thought his UCF approach would work at NU in the BIG. The SEC can play defense. Yes they had a bit of a hiccup last year, but many of the SEC teams play well coached pretty stout defense. The defensive lines of SEC teams are much more physical than their counterparts in the BIG12. OU can match at QB and most skill positions- but they don't have the physicality they will need to consistently be a top dog in the SEC. Will be interesting to see how the newcomers stack up. Lots of eyeballs and ratings for that. Missouri and A&M didn't do bad coming in- so it will be interesting to watch. I for one will be watching.

  38. Word is getting around about the 'Super Deal' the SEC made with ESPN. Which is that any team they add to the league will get a FULL share of the money without the other teams taking a loss of one single cent. The deal does specify that they must go after top level athletic programs. This deal is immediate for any team joining the SEC, for they will be paid their full share as soon as they start competing in the league. NO other conference in the country has this deal to offer new schools! You can bet everything you own that OU and Texas will be leaving the Big 12 after this season and getting their big bucks starting in 2022 as SEC full members. You can bet your butt that every school entering the SEC has been approved by ESPN brass in advance. If Clemson and FSU go the SEC, the "power" conferences will just be the B1G, SEC, and PAC12 with just the B1G and SEC who will be the only two conferences that have teams who have even a remote chance at winning a National Championship in the near future and the scale will be heavily tilted toward the SEC. In other words, Game. Set. Match. SEC wins. Unless the B1G has some major development up its sleeve. Given how our leadership handled covid, I have serious doubts they have anything planned. They are just spectators to this masterstroke plan by ESPN and the SEC as we all are.

Yeah...sure....your kid is exceptionally smart and has an opportunity to go to one of the top universities in the country and set themselves up for life....but sure.....don't send them because you want to protest something. Ummmm.....no. You can protest racism without affecting your child's future.
