  1. Well he coached the greatest 3-9 team of all time so I'm sure he'll at least have one statue.

  2. We've had just as many good calls go our way. Stop making excuses. We're not a threat to anyone and there's no need for anyone to be out to get us. We suck.

  3. zero evidence? Iowa 21 is a great example. Folding doesn't necessarily mean getting blown out, but you can see when that sideline is in their feels, and it's happening all over again. You know what the issue is with the close part? They've been close because they actually have good players, who at any moment can go make a play. The issue? They are not developed or well instructed on how to operate when those things aren't happening. That's the lack of consistency that hurts this program. Some positions get developed, others don't. Some positions stockpile talent, other's don't. Pure hodge-podge.

  4. Anyone who thinks the B1G administrators (all of the B1G personnel including "The B1G Show and Final Drive" persons) while also not excluding the coaches (outside of maybe Ryan Day and staff) respects Nebraska, well... you're fooling yourself. They "all of them" want this university gone. The B1G hates everything about this university and this state. You want to know why the B1G won't reach out to the OU's and UNC's? Because like Nebraska they won't fit into the big blue politics of the B1G. The Lincoln and Omaha journalists are so far up the left's buttholes they too won't say anything and therefore are also projecting. (Is there any real journalism left in this world?) The B1G is corrupt from top to bottom. It was the biggest mistake ever made to join.. Also lets face the truth, Nebraska is the team that led the way forward into super conferences. (Our move resulted in 4 teams leaving the big 12, A&M, Missouri, Colorado along with us) We speak about other university programs egos and say nothing about our own ego. Nebraska jumps and the dawn of new alliances begin. Now both the B1G and UNL find the fit not nearly as fitting as the green pastures once appeared. My 2 cents, ranting to hear my own head speak.. Wish we had real journalist instead of opinionists.. if we did maybe they'd help curtail some of the abuse we continue to receive from the decision makers upstairs.. How many more disgusting examples of us against the world will we see this year and yet hear zero speak of it in our news papers and sports columns. Why? Because the BC's of the world cater to lies for greed and hide truth because it may result in discipline. Do your job as journalists and report truths you cowards!!!

  5. But did John Cook take over play calling in the 4th Set??????

  6. I think that it is. Considering how it played out, and what it showed. NW will not be the best team we face and that loss came from a team we killed last year. How did they turn it around so quickly and more importantly, how did we get worse so quickly? If Scott is to be retained, the losses to lesser programs cannot happen anymore, and unfortunately we are off to a bad start.

  7. 4 AFC South titles in 6 years wasn't good? He is literally the only coach with a winning record the Texans have ever had. And the guys you replaced him with have gone a combined 8-21 since? Yeah, sounds like he was a huge problem.

  8. I can see Nebraska beating Oklahoma then losing to Indiana, just to mess with our minds.

  9. And I don't even know if "progress" factors into all that much. When compared to Riley, there's almost zero tangible progress. B-U-T, I want him back for next year if we get to 6 regular season wins assuming that Thompson & Grant don't declare for the draft. Those guys are both juniors, Whipple coaches one more year, and every single offensive lineman is back (except Hixson). So it's more about the momentum we might have now than it is about saying that "'X number of wins is progress" in year 5. We could be a good team next year and Frost could be coaching that good team. For me the question is whether Scott has actually been able to see where he's gone wrong. If he has, he still has a chance at being a good head coach at Nebraska. I really believe that.

  10. At this point, I think Trev and most of us have seen enough. I think he will be out October 2nd. Mickey will take over as interim. He had to beat NW and if he didn't, while also showing signs of the ugly past, it was done. As this team currently stands, it has no chance in hell making 7-8 wins. The PR beating Nebraska takes on a weekly basis now is just too much. Everyone has begun to feel sorry for us, and that is a horrible place to be. I think Scott was always going to be let go, and the only thing stopping it was his contract (and a miracle turnaround). And I wouldn't be surprised if hiring Mickey and Applewhite was insurance for the next coach that he would have top shelf coaches in place if need be. In terms of what is being said on the radio waves. Believe it. These guys are too savvy to be sticking their necks out if there wasn't some validity to it. At this point, I think everyone knows where it is heading, and they are preparing everyone for the inevitable.

  11. So, I went back and watched the defense and keyed on the interior linemen. They rotated fairly regularly 5 guys. Robinson, Hutmacher, Wynn, Drew and Feist. I honestly didn't see much different between any of them. They all eat up blocks, which is important. But, they all have problems getting off blocks when a play is right in their area. The only difference was that it seemed like Robinson and Wynn are more athletic to actually be able to chase someone down. Several times in this game, we played a defense where it looks like the DLine is supposed to block the O line all in one direction and the RE and LBs are supposed to fill in on the other side. I"m assuming this is usually in a very obvious run situation. Many times, it appeared the Dline did what they were supposed to do by moving the O line, but the RE and LBs failed to fill in. One example is the really long run ND had in the second half. It appeared that Nelson didn't disengage with the O lineman fast enough to make the tackle. The very next play, both Nebraska and ND ran the same play and Nelson made a nice play. So, I feel like we have OK D linemen. They aren't getting blown back 4 yards. But, they aren't great to the point of making a difference in the middle.

  12. It's 100% targeting. The rule is 'forcible contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless player", which that absolutely was. He launched, and hit a receiver in the area with force to the head or neck area. It's not ambiguous.

Why you are not jacked up for a Husker football game is beyond me for a football game in September.... (insert 365 days of crying and whining and hoping and apathy and whatever buuuuulll s#!t you come up with.....) I for one, am excited and look forward to some Husker football this Saturday !!!!! Suck it, haters

  15. Like a lot of conspiracies all you have to do is follow the money. The BIG10 makes a fortune having the only blue blood in the west miss bowl games every year. I have it on good authority that Kevin Warren hacked Frost's head set during the Northwestern game and called the onside kick.

  16. It's Nebraska snowflakes with this whiny victimized attitude that actually ruin it for us patriotic fans who understand how both football and journalism work.

  17. i just dont understand how fans can think that a record of 6-6 in year five is impressive. in year 5 that would not fly with any coach not name frost.

  18. You'd think a former president/current leader of one of our two main parties who stole top secret/SCI documents including docs about the nuclear readiness of foreign countries and who kept those docs at an unsecured location which has been the number one target for adversarial foreign intelligence operatives would qualify as a "horrible act". But alas we're out in the weeds arguing about what the Energy Secretary under Obama said prior to even being appointed.

  19. I just do not think that is the case anymore. Frost is done, and I think he knows it.

  22. He became the QB at a time when winning at the highest level had been ingrained into the culture of the program so long that it became the norm, and he perpetuated that norm. He became the coach at a time when losing had been ingrained into the culture of the program so long that it became the norm, and he perpetuated that norm. It's a bit complicated.

  24. See Solich, Frank. One was asked to maintain glory and couldn't quite get it done, the other was asked to restore it. Both are still beloved Huskers that gave more to this program than any keyboard warrior ever could.

  25. If Frost gets fired, with time the animosity and frustration will cede ground to sympathy as people realize he gave it every ounce he possibly could and was more disappointed in the outcome than any of us. Plus, I have a suspicion that he'll go on and have a lot of success elsewhere which will hopefully show us all that the problem wasn't Frost, it was Frost at Nebraska that didn't work for whatever spooky reason.

  26. Another day another Trump investigation. All of this winning is just so overwhelming. The guy is a crook, among so many other things. At least "I'm not a Crook" Nixon had the decency to drop out of public life when he left the White House in disgrace. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/08/us/politics/trump-save-america-pac-subpoenas.html

  27. if it had been a republican Fox news would be riled up and calling it a witch hunt and evidence that the left was persecuting the right and asking why we haven't seen the evidence that the judge saw in order to issue the search warrant. but since he was a democrat.....everyone is good.....get that criminal off the street.

  28. So to follow that up, there's been a narrative that Frost needed to step away from the offense a bit. As if to say that some of his contributions were doing more harm than good on the offense and somebody more competent than him needed to take over. I don't think that's what was happening or was the problem at all. I think it was more that from that very first offseason in Year 0, he didn't really personally help get the ball rolling on the high-level deficiencies that the program had. He probably did focus too much personally on the offense - in the sense that he maybe wasn't managing things better at a high level. I really do think he deserves that criticism 100%.

  30. I very much want Frost to succeed. The story line is too awesome. Past performance being indicative, Frost probably wont survive this season. And that is a shame.

  31. Sipple said on Sharp & Benning this morning that he thinks the magic number is 8 regular season wins for Scott to be retained. Also he implied that a regular season firing is all but expected if things are not going well. Segment 5 if you want to listen -> https://1620thezone.com/sharp-and-benning/

  32. Entirely too many posters appear by their suggestive posts to "want" the program to fail. We're 1-1, hopefully 2-1 after Saturday. Could we be 3-1 after OU, yes but we will need the ball to bounce our way a time or two. What then, will all the negative nellie's continue to call for the Urban's and Aranda's, etc...? I want Frost and company to succeed. I want a staff that stays together. Athletes that celebrate 4, 5 years with the same coaches and players from start to finish.

  33. We are. My post pointed to the absurdity that both sides are even remotely the same here. One side is not equivalent to the other, unless you're looking at it through MAGAvision. But hey, I say your side should keep it up. Election denial cost them 2 runoff elections in Georgia - thanks for the Senate by the way - and they're currently squandering monumental systemic electoral advantages in both the House and Senate. You guys have a 4.5% advantage in the Electoral College, you control gerrymandering across the majority of House Districs, and you have huge advantages in the Senate and your hack judges dominate the Judiciary and because of MAGA, you're still losing.

  34. 6 wins will keep him. Progress isn't linear though. Had Frost stayed at UCF, what does progess look like after an undefeated season in a second year as a head coach? There are posters anxiously awaiting October. They might be surprised Frost is still around.

  35. It's not really drawn up that way, it's just a basic pass pro and everyone needs to know their rules of engagement, which can change after the snap. The right side was a hat on a hat at the snap. TE covered, RT covered, RG covered (and C is covered). You know the TE has to run his route, so the line is now overloaded to the right side. It's 2 on 3 meaning the RB has to come help. Somebody makes a "fire right" call (or whatever we use) and RB acknowledges that he's going to pickup the blitzer on that side. At the snap the assumption is RB takes blitzer, RT takes DE, and RG takes DT. After the snap the DT stunts inside away from RG, so RG becomes free. RG assignment now changes to head on a swivel make sure no one replaces the DT (they don't), then help out with the nearest defender, if that's good then find any free rushers. RB and RT assignment stays the same. The only way RT helps RB is if RG has the DE locked down, which he's barely engaged on the play... I'm guessing either RT didn't hear the RB acknowledge the fire call, or he didn't trust the RB and sacrificed his block. Either way he just needs to do his job of taking the DE and we'd be fine.

  36. I’d wager that the first time our record dips below .500 after October 1, he will be let go. A .500 or better record probably delays things until after Iowa. Just my gut feeling.

  37. HEY!!! That sounds verbatim what was said about Pelini- minus the player part and defense instead of offense. Maybe we can get Riley to come back and be headcoach and his coordinators can be Pelini and Frost.

  38. I'm pretty sure you have zero realistic evidence of the team "folding quickly". We have literally been in every game right down to the wire. Most of the time we've had the ball in the last few minutes with a chance to win the game. That is exactly the opposite of "folding quickly."

  39. Yes, we need someone wt CEO skills. I think HCSF was promoted above his skill level when he came to Nebraska. He probably best suited as a OC for a good school. He hasn't been able to wrap his arms around the CEO role from the beginning - obvious first bad decision was to bring his whole coaching staff with him which had little P5 experience. SF as a HC had limited experience and he limited his reach by bringing assistant coaches who had no greater experience than he did. Plus there was that deceitful arrogance that they thought they could do in the B1G what they did in the AAC. While Chadwell is also from a G5 school, he has had much more experience than Frost at running a program. The jury is still out as to whether his O style would work in the B1G but I think he has the executive skills to bring us back to respectability. I still prefer someone wt successful P5 experience or possibly O'Brien since he has now been at the Saban school of reclamation. Of course Peterson, Aranda (still limited amount of time as P5 coach but proved himself as DC for LSU) are still high on my list. Trev has a big load on his shoulders. With the new facilities, NIL, Transfer Portal, 12 team playoff, Conference realignment/expansion, this hire is probably the most important hire since the BobFather promoted Tom to HC. No pressure at all Trev.

  40. Really hope Frank is able to get back to Lincoln for a game and get his flowers. He deserves it and the program's repented, i think. Scott's day will come too. Probably also after running a successful G5 program for 20 years.

  42. I think they both have to go. Both of them have history in Lincoln, but I think we've got to look past that now. This program has been looking like the Titanic on a loop for the past few years, and i'm not even completely sold on somebody like Meyer to bring this program back from the dead...
