  1. Whatever douche left the laughing emoji we already have 3 legacy kids in this year's class and offered a few others who went elsewhere. They aren't going to just leave Benning out.

  2. Caleb being a legacy kid and his dad does radio for the team. Not a chance Rhule leaves him out

  3. I think it's really just that we're bad. We've had some bad luck to lose some of those games, but we've also had good luck to keep it within one score.

  4. Riley had a lot of fans on here when hired, we got the everything is great because we have experienced coaches now schtick and recruited high rated receivers and db s .Frost was the Nebraska guy who gets it guy who also recruited high rated receivers and db s, I hope Garret is a good coach but we haven't seen anything yet.

  6. It's definitely more than regular bad luck. It's horrible luck and just doing everything possible to lose.

  9. It seems to me like they are mainly saying guys will join the program at the positions they are used to playing. But it seems pretty likely that several are going to grow into a different position. I've only ever seen Flynt talk about being a TE. But definitely a blocking-first TE. So it would seem entirely possible that he could slide in one spot at some point. Keelan Smith seems like he'll end up at TE some time but for now they are talking about being a WR. And at least a couple of the safeties are likely to be outside linebackers later on.

  10. I was vocal about my concern with the Garrett hire as well. I think the criticisms at the time were absolutely fair. Yes he’s done well in recruiting thus far. Bravo. But, there’s a lot more to prove. We’ve had plenty of WR coaches this past decade that have landed stars and names and done absolutely nothing with them. Can Garrett change that trend? I certainly hope so.

  11. That POV ignores the level of talent identification in the hiring manager. Hiring the good talent is largely on the hiring manager to properly evaluate the talent of the candidates. So many times I have seen other fellow department heads make bad hires simply because the resume looks good, trusted a single reference, or was slightly desperate to fill a position even though hiring the wrong person is worse than not hiring someone at all. MR has a pretty good track record at making good hires, he is starting to show an impressive coaching tree. SF didn’t really have a track record in making hires, people assumed his 1st set of hires were good because they worked at UCF, but SF didn’t show an ability to hire P5 coaches before coming to NU where as MR clearly has. Don’t get blinded by the candidate and everyone’s perceived shortcomings without actually factoring in the person making the hire and that person’s track record for making good hires.

  13. We have 23 juniors on scholarship. All of those guys would normally be seniors this year if not for the Covid year. I would guess at least half of those guys are not around next year. I don’t think we’ve had more than 10 of these 6th year guys in each of 2021, 2022, or 2023.

  15. Its not about leaving him out, it's does he want to join the program or not? Your saying that just bc your a legacy recruit that they will give you all the time in the world that you need that's a false narrative. They will give you time to decide but they only have so many scholarships available and as you can see there are kids that want to be apart of the program instead of him rn.

  16. If any one post could exemplify the current state of the Republican Party, this is it. I'm truly baffled how anybody can continue to delude themselves in to voting for them. What makes me laugh about these headlines is... isn't it a good thing the drugs were seized? There are similar headlines about border apprehensions.

  18. That was one of my biggest concerns too, especially on the heels of everyone denouncing Scott for “Hiring his buddies.” Somehow hiring a buddy’s kid, with zero meaningful experience, was deemed just fine.

  20. From your article…. People unable to get a photo ID due to a disability, illness, lack of birth certificate, or religious reasons can complete a Reasonable Impediment Certification. Those can be completed at a polling place, county election office, or on the Secretary of State’s website.

  21. Brain drain happens when you are a place young people don’t want to be because of the general political and economic outlook provided in your area. Generally speaking, it speaks to problems within and how to change moving forward.

  22. While you're right that far fewer teams are losing in Lincoln, the fanbase still cheers for every opponent win or lose. This isn't true. Your point is factually wrong. This also isn't true. Could be worse, our fanbase could be known for booing injured players.

  23. The irony is Iowa fans gloating about "the streak" during arguably their best stretch ever during our worst stretch ever, and yet still barely beating us during that streak. Iowa fans were quick to trot out "huck the fuskers" shirts back in 2002 and enjoyed NU's downturn more than your own teams success. It's weird, and kind of sad to be honest. That's just objectively false. Nebraska fans do that even in losses.

  26. Rhule will be essentially doing the same thing, just over two years instead of just one. That tells you a lot about the roster under Frost. A complete inability to develop high school players.

  27. Yep. Considering all the angst, hand wringing, doubts and dislike voiced by many when he was hired I'd say he is working out quite nicely. The feedback from players and recruits alike has been over the moon positive. Imagine that, Matt Rhule had a better handle on his hire that anonymous message board posters. Shocking.

  28. My point was that your fan base quit doing it when the team became losers. What happened to the class? So you don’t understand the difference between us applauding a team that didn’t give up even though there was no hope of winning vs fans not applauding the losing team that has been cocky douche canoes the last decade or so. Got it. you’re either mentally deficient or the worst troll ever. Prob both.

  30. In reality, while some Nebraska fans hate Iowa, y'all spend way more time thinking about us than we do about you.

  31. Bad luck can come in the form of poor preparation which leads to poor mental fortitude, and making mistakes at inopportune times. Which really isn't luck at all. You can chalk some of those losses to actual bad breaks but not most of them. They are on the worst coach we've ever hired, but at least he's gone now.

  32. I agree. I’ve never straight up refused to do something for a customer based on their politics or being any sort of a protected class but I have priced some jobs exorbitantly high for some pushy pricks. There is an absolute a-hole multimillionaire in town who had me come look at a job. He was a self important condescending prick while I was there, so I multiplied my estimate by 10x and then just shrugged when he said it was too much. Told him he couldn’t afford us and he could probably find someone else cheaper

  34. As you should be able to. It is yours. Government interference is not necessary. Those who may deny service to others based off of political reasons who own businesses may face social & societal backlash. It will even out. And those who are employed likely face termination.

  36. I think we have a higher level of talent than fans are letting on and I'd love to see 6 wins and some sort of bowl, which I think is very achievable against our schedule if we don't catch insane bad luck again. But mostly I just want to see the beginnings of a program that pays attention to details, is maximizing its resources, and not constantly stepping on rakes (which seems to be happening so far in one offseason at least).

  37. Not saying they'll be closer to 40th or anything. Last year we had 28 commits, and this year it sounds like we'll be closer to 25. Avg rating puts us around 33rd on 247 composite. Other teams' classes will dilute some as they fill out, but I'd bet on us being around 28th-30th. Others on this board follow recruiting a lot more closely than I do, but I have definitely wasted many a summer day checking team rankings on Rivals/247 the past 25 years, FWIW.

  39. Agree that 3-6-6 works perfectly, but you do have to make some forced "rivalries". I am in favor of the 3-6-6, but the 3 aren't set in stone and you can change those up every 4 years. If UCLA and Wisconsin have a couple great games, then set them up as "rivals" when the schedule is redone. Whatever happens I am sure we are going to end up playing Ohio St 7 times in 10 years and Rutgers 3 times in 10 years, while Iowa will get Rutgers 7 times and Ohio St 3 times.
