  1. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna132291 All 9 judges agreed.....this was a no-brainer. "The ruling makes it clear that Congress, not states, has to set rules on how the 14th Amendment provision can be enforced against federal office-seekers. As such, the decision applies to all states, not just Colorado. States retain the power to bar people running for state office from appearing on the ballot under Section 3.

  2. It was a unanimous ruling It wasn’t a States Rights issue https://www.mediaite.com/trump/breaking-supreme-court-unanimously-overturns-colorado-ruling-throwing-trump-off-ballot/ “Because the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the States, responsible for enforcing Section 3 against federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse,” the opinion read.

  4. At what point does he have to be ruled out due to the extreme number of high profile high stakes law suits he is involved in? How could he possibly serve as president and give it the time and attention necessary to perform the job while he is giving depositions and defending his fraud and SA nearly every day. At what point does the extreme amount of debt he's incurred due to losing said lawsuits create a situation in which he cannot possibly serve without it being a conflict of interest, an outright disregard of the emoluments clause, and the risk of selling the office of the presidency to the highest bidder? And to your point Archy, yes it was a unanimous court decision. Again, the left wing of the court stayed true to its principles, while the right wing did an about face destroying their own precedent they set in Bush v. Gore, in which the conservative majority ruled that the Federal Govt. had no power to tell states what to do in regard to elections, federal or other.

  5. No I am not. I know you read my posts and I’ve said they are big spenders too. We agree. Sorry but you aren’t really “breaking” anything to me, Everyone who pays taxes got a tax break last time. It’s an open forum. You can provide any data and source you want in order to refute what’s on that site. But you haven’t, just like you wouldn’t take the time to refute any DeSantis policies last time we talked. I get it, you don’t like the numbers being what they are, you don’t like him as a person. But that’s different and much easier than providing evidence. I certainly understand though

  6. 14th Amendment Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article. Jurisdiction was given to the US Congress, not the Colorado Supreme Court.

  10. Well, he hasn't been convicted of anything related to January 6th yet. So there's that...

  12. Correct me if I'm wrong here but the real issue is that they ruled only Congress can bar an insurrectionist from holding office. An insurrectionist running for president is not barred from running for president as long as his insurrectionist party holds Congress. So much for those guardrails we've been told about. Any healthy democracy would bar someone who tried to overthrow an election from running for the highest office in the land.

  15. What are you arguing here? As I pointed out before, you can't just say someone committed treason and now they are forever barred from holding office. That makes no sense. They need to be convicted and found guilty, or as the clause says; confess their guilt in open court. The punishment for treason isn't spelled out in the Constitution, it's spelled out in the justice code which is where the penalty of barring from office can be found (written by Congress) along with the other punishments. We have due process for a reason, and this case isn't any different. Addressing your last paragraph, that would be an extraordinary circumstance. I would think the supreme Court would work to expedite the trial, and if found guilty punishments would be retroactive regarding offices. I didn't read the Colorado judge's opinion, but I really don't think it holds much weight given that Trump has not been convicted of anything related to treason.

  18. “Sourced”? More like curated for a purpose. Are you really still under the delusion that the R party is the party of fiscal responsibility? I used to also think that once upon a time. Hate to break it to ya but neither party is fiscally responsible. One party simply votes no on any spending measure the other party comes up with. And then they turn around and give tax breaks to the ultra rich and big corps. Both have the same fiscal effect. But I guess it’s good enough for you to glean “sourced” data.

  19. Ok, but nobody has found him guilty of anything yet whether that's a jury, judge, or congress. So you're saying someone, anyone, could just go Michael Scott and declare him a traitor and that's that?

  20. This takes an interesting approach, almost a parent vs tantrum approach. Ignoring "it", in this case the "it" being trump, and hope it sort of stops. It actually is a very effective method and I think what you posted is probably true.

  21. Honestly, Liberal States were ridiculously stupid to attempt to kick him off the ballot. Democrats need a national strategy to counter the Trump horde. Doing dumb things like this only helps Trump. Now he can claim he's exonerated and the moronic voters that make up the American electorate will believe him. It had a 0% chance of success and was not legal from the start.

  22. I saw that, and thought the same. Then I see 2-8 road record and some of the shine wears off. Still a great season, but do I have much confidence in neutral court games in the B1G/NCAA tourneys? Not really. I could see them winning, but I could also see them being one and done in both which would be a gigantic bummer. I hope they get it done, but all I can do is shrug and wait and see!

  24. First/second round sites are no longer tied to a region. They are set up so high seeded teams don't have to travel no matter what region they are assigned to. It's been this way for at least a decade.

  26. Not sure it's an effort thing for him as two of the three rebounds are on the offensive end. With Gary & Allick combining for 17, everything seems to be flowing as well as Hoiberg could hope on the rebounding end. 10 offensive boards as a team is pretty solid.

  27. Can you explain how it's a dead amendment? I haven't read the argument. We haven't had your what if. We can't just force people off ballots because we say they did something. Trump needs to be convicted of something relevant; something related to Jan. 6 or sharing classified docs,, etc.

  28. Nice try! Like you knew that the big time lawyer from "the big city" who hates Christmas but also had to close a big deal in Mistletoe Town (which for some reason is only like an hour away from "big city) was going to meet some dude (with 6 pack abs) that looked homeless but was also a doctor and a lawyer but also bought an foster home for kids...and would NEVER leave Mistletoe Town because his ex left and never came back...and he would fall in love with the big time lawyer from the Big City... And you are gonna try to tell me you knew that was gonna happen without your wife telling you? No, you did not know that. NO ONE KNEW!

  29. This is why we have people that are (hopefully) smarter and more level headed than "us" Like...I think if you talk about how great skinheads are you should be put to death. BUT just because I think that type of speech is wrong, doesn't mean that someday, someone in power could say something that I say is wrong. So while I understand his/her thoughts, they are clearly wrong, even though I get it.

  30. These people need to be dealt with in the harshest of ways. And, in an organized effort with the rest of the world. I think we have done that, but, it needs to be stepped up. This is BS from a bunch of piece of s#!t terrorists backed by Russia.

  31. Very true and feel the same. Jeckyll & Hyde with home vs away games. My confidence of winning a game in a tourney away from home is low. Still possible though so I roll with that a little bit. Now if there was some way to get the basketball team to "like playing against road games"

  32. Michigan beat Wisconsin at home and this is their senior night. Nebraska will get Michigan's best in this game. Hope they have their big boy pants on. I expect this to be an old school physical game and we all know how the B1G refs protect the home court. Husker 3's will be needed to win this game.

  42. You agree with and support and vote for almost everything in the Democrat position. So while you may not have a D in your voter registration, you do currently have a de facto party whether you want to admit it or not. But keep repeating your party line about Republicans as a party agrees to this bill. Joe would like you to keep it up while you dismiss every single issue that is brought up about the bill.
