Running, sputtering and then stopping would indicate a fuel flow problem to me. It's been a long time since I disassembled one of those but my money is on the fuel line or fuel filter if it has one. Old gas can get gummy. I'm a firm believer in using Sta-Bil.

electronic fuel valve on the bottom of the carburetor bowl. If you didn't drain the fuel, they will get gummed up and and stay closed.

Ahhh, the fuel filter. Good idea. I haven't looked at that. Ever.

My now wife lived in Pound for a couple years (81-82). I don't think I ever entered through the main doors. Always used the back stairwell fire exit because it was after hours or before hours.

Another time I met a buddy there in his gf's room. She was an RA. We smoked a little weed to pass the time before she got back. She was REALLY pissed when she returned.
