  1. Love that for him. Absolutely hate that its for the Patriots.

  2. I’m more amazed at how he was able to sign in December and it not get leaked to a larger degree than it did. I mean, he had to tell opposing coaches that he’s signed and they can’t contact him. And they would have had to stay quiet for a month. Impressive

  3. USC fans are upset but understand Noa's decision. The fans absolutely hate Helton and blame him for their recruiting woes. ASU fans are all sorts of pissed. They just can't fathom how Noa could pick NU over them. Both fan bases do think we will get Pola-Moa now. USC isn't as pissed about it as ASU is.

  4. So now Vietnam veterans are getting eye rolls. Trump supporters are so precious. I feel eel like this board is inhabited with a middle schooler.

  5. Robinson's length is better served at DE. If we are going to move anyone to NT it should be Piper, he's shorter and thicker, supposedly already up to 290. Personally, I'd say keep Robinson at DE, bring-in MPM for NT, and move Piper to OG.

  6. Or, and hear me out, he could go to a good franchise.

  7. Said he really liked the trip and really likes Nebraska. Going to evaluate his options when he gets back home. Considering OVs to Georgia, Kansas State and Toledo.

  9. I think we can only take 4 more total. I think it's probably Parker (OLB), Njoku (WR), James (DB), Pola-Mao (NT) Fonua could replace Parker at OLB Houston could replace Njoku at WR Starks could replace James at DB Bivens (RB) could be in if Pola-Mao isn't This staff has their backup plans ready and waiting to sign, unlike the ice cream man.

  10. Yes, I’m assuming he said something along those lines because the guy who told him to go to Europe was watching the drum guy calmly for a good 30 seconds then suddenly whipped his head around to one kid specifically and then made that comment. The comment is by definition out of context because you don’t know what came immediately before it. Also, you throw around the word instigate a lot. Walking toward them while playing drums and singing at a national monument doesn’t seem like instigation to me, and the guy did nothing that should have caused them to behave that way. They were talking to that group before he did so, and it was 4 vs. 100+.

  11. I thought this was pretty interesting. Apparently there is a very clear cultural problem at this particular high school. After reading, my thoughts did not change and this particular kid sounds very privileged. (Read the whole thread, it’s semi-long.) (

  13. How strange it is to not be rushing to fill a class, reaching, and instead having the problem of not having enough spots.

  14. Why do you think it's him? My silent guesses before were Ric with a new user name because he disagrees with anything reasonable, and teach just for the fun of it.

  18. For awhile there I was expecting this class not to take a jump from past years and still be in that 24 or 25 range. Glad to be wrong and to be right on the verge of top 20 in the composite and close to top 15 in rivals. That average recruit rating is as high as we've had it and to do that with the volume of recruits we have is pretty impressive too.

  19. Not bad company on Rivals and 3rd in the Big Ten. Would love to see our average over 3.5.

  21. I guess I’m looking at it from the elders POV. He was already there for his cause. A cause that he has taken up since 2000, iirc. He’s there to honor his people and a group of predominantly white teenagers wearing MAGA hats comes to his area and start chanting/singing over him. So he approaches them. Should he? Difficult for ME to say. I can see how someone, given recent history of MAGA hat wearing people, would want to reclaim what they feel was being taken from them at that point. I can see where the teenagers probably were oblivious to what their singing could be seen as. And I can see where the elder felt compelled to react to it. The teenagers are videoed doing the Florida St war chant and chop-that, in itself is derogatory in nature to the elder. You can see in the video they are laughing and chanting and being complete idiots. The kid standing still knew exactly what he was doing. He wasn’t trying to get an up close experience of what the elder was chanting. It was dumb. And now his face is going to be a face of racist overtones because he chose to be a smug a$$h@!e in a MAGA hat. Right, wrong, or indifferent. I believe that teenager WANTED to be that guy. He knew there were cameras everywhere but chose to remain in front of the elder. He wanted this notoriety. And he got it. The additional video doesn’t dispute the behavior of the teenagers. I just hope the parents can use this as a teaching moment.

  23. The more versions of the video i watch the less of a big deal it seams. No one here will ever know 100% what happened especially before the cameras came on. Personally i dont think either side handled things well. Who ever the adults that were there with the high school students should have done something to try and diffuse the situation dont let a bunch of amped up mocking teenagers surround a group of people no matter who they are. The students can in my opinion clearly be seen mocking the native americans as well. But i don't think it was necessary to march in to that large crowd either. It almost seems like they were doing it to get a reaction. Would it have been cool if the students just watched what they were doing and everyone shook hands after sure but they knew there was a chance that wouldn't be the reaction.

  24. In reality, with all of the fronts, techniques and alignments used by modern defenses it usually boils down to what you want to call it. Almost nobody bases out of a 3-4 or 4-3 by personnel because so very much of football is dominated by 10 or 11 personnel. Many defenses have somebody as a hybrid of sorts, usually a LB/S or DE/OLB, and if they don't they have so many sub-packages as to make any idea of a base defense a moot point. The very idea of a base defense goes back to when offenses primarily ran the ball and passing was the exception. If anything, modern shotgun oriented schemes have flipped that script. Many organizations that specialize in player evaluation have just begun generalizing based on task, because trying to figure out exactly what position a guy like JJ Watt or Khalil Mack plays is a pointless exercise.

  25. Ohh the racist undertones. What a time to be alive....

  26. Nope. Sorry. He could've moved aside. You can't control the actions of others. You can be accountable for yourself. He could've defused the situation entirely by simply getting out the guy's way, even if he was wandering through a crowd. Not that I expect many kids to be smart or mature enough to respond that way, but this is really more indicative of manners than anything. And honestly, I don't feel like I'm in any position to be telling the Native Americans how to feel about what the white man has done to their native lands.

  27. They may be more common to get from interior guys in a 4-3 than a 3-4 but they are still way more common from the edge guys regardless of the defense. Almost all the guys we're recruiting for OLB are listed as Weakside Defensive Ends by the recruiting services. That means they'd play DE in a 4-3 but they'll play OLB if they go to a 3-4 system. It's the same guys we're recruiting regardless of what scheme we're running. In theory you can usually get more pressure from a 3-4 because you can bring the fourth rusher from any of the four LB spots and you have more athletes on the field. A bit too early to tell yet how Chins uses his guys - when he gets his guys - but I think pointing to the base alignment as the root issue is a bit short-sighted.

  34. Deflecting all blame from the adult, who was also the instigator. Crazy. I mean, I know why he's getting a pass, but crazy nonetheless. Oh, please. 21st century native Americans aren't victims of genocide, and 21st century White Men aren't the culprits.

  35. Ruin a kid's life? Hardly. To be honest if he had his acceptance to a college revoked over a viral video blowing up, that's not a ruined life. He could re-apply other places or take a year off. If he didn't want to chance that, he could've moved aside like a normal human being instead of staring down an old man. He doesn't really have the right to block the old man's path when they're both outside on pubic ground. If I see somebody strolling along towards me like that, I move out of the way. It's a natural reaction. He could've done that instead of choosing to block his way. I don't particularly care if this is an unpopular opinion. Regardless of where the old man chose to walk, the kid could've responded better. He chose not to.

  37. Sean Callahan expecting Gaylord to move to RT and start out as the #1 guy with Benhart behind him. Farniok slides inside to RG with Wilson at LG. Hunter Miller and Cam Jurgens working at center along with Bland (if he gets here). That would leave Hixon and Sichterman to be backups as they are guys the staff supposedly likes. A starting lineup of Jaimes-Wilson-Miller-Farniok-Gaylord would be solid - and it won't surprise me if Benhart works his way onto the front line at some point. But also having Sichterman-Hixon-Jurgens-Benhart on the second line should get closer to having the depth we could use. Plus Bland (maybe?).
