A rumor going around is that he wants to be a Husker, but he needs to finish up a math class that he is currently taking; if he passes the math class there is a chance that Nebraska will take him and he will be here in the summer. The reason he isn't going to any SEC school is that it is hard to transfer online courses to an SEC school. Take it with your usual grains of salt, just thought I should share it.6 points

Yesterdays practice...No Mo for 3rd straight practice. No Wandale for 5th practice this spring. No Wyatt Mazour for 7th practice. No Brody Belt for 1st time. Bradley and Miles Jones took most reps...a few by Moses Bryant2 points

There should be a page in the media guide like this... My son and wife and I were talk just tonight about how hardcore our fan base is. They went to the Michigan Nebraska volleyball game last year, 30% red in a small high school size arena. We show up and represent, it's awesome. It's 15 minutes to the Big House and 45 minutes to Spartan Stadium from my house. Both fan bases genuinely like us and want to see Frost succeed (succeed = win the west and lose to them in to conference championship game). I can't wait till they hate us.2 points

I think this visit has already happened based on the article. https://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/recruiting/nebraska-set-to-host-defensive-tackle-jahkeem-green-a-potential/article_2102f7cb-8e08-51b0-8826-861afab92fb6.html But haven't heard a word on how the visit went and if we/he are interested going forward!1 point

it is why I think we win the recruiting battle in all honesty. Put him and his dad in a meeting room with Ellis and Duval and have them go off about nutrition and what levels they can push your body etc. SOLD1 point

I support Bernie, but I agree he needs to release his tax returns. We know youre filthy rich Bernie so just do it. I dont think it will hurt his image too bad as he still wants the best for working class people.1 point

Bo Pelini is a good defensive coach for the most part. He was good at creating schemes for stopping offenses if he had the right personnel. I think he was a fairly good motivator and for the most part his players like him. I think it is a testament to his abilities as a coach that he always won 9+ games every year he was at Nebraska. I also think his many flaws are what didn't allow him to be more successful at Nebraska. I am not sure how you would call his temper issues "perceived". The man had temper issues, they are well documented on video and audio recordings. He was thin skinned beyond disbelief and was terrible dealing with the media. His downfall started when his brother left Lincoln. I believe Carl was the only person on the staff that he even halfway listed to. A good manager/coach has to be willing to listen to other ideas and ways of doing things. He surrounded himself with yes men. It doesn't mean those guys couldn't coach, I just think it was a dictatorship. His defensive schemes were flawed for the B1G conference. He was always too worried about getting beat deep in the passing game. His defense was built to stop the pass first. Which works fairly well when you have really good front 7 guys. His run fits were too precise if everything worked perfectly it was fine, but things rarely work perfectly. So against great running teams "Wisconsin" he would give up 408 yards to a back because he didn't want to get beat with the pass. He wasn't a good enough recruiter to get the linemen he needed to run his defense. He didn't trust local talent and passed on or slow played guys that would have helped his team defensively. I am talking about Ott, Bazata, and Harrison Phillips. PB would be a great DC at the Pro level. He would be able to get the players he needed and not have to deal with the press and other distraction that go with being a HC. It would suit him. He is not ever going to be a great HC, but because of his huge ego he won't admit it.1 point

They are very closely connected. Pelini wasn't fired when Perlman wanted it done because Osborne carried more weight......which made it an even bigger battle with Perlman. I think your thoughts on the recording are well known. I absolutely agree that after 2011 Pelini no longer wanted to be at Nebraska because of Perlman. Osborne knew replacing Pelini wouldn't be easy. I'm glad we have Frost. Moving on.......1 point

Regarding the Solich firing as it happened...in retrospect, after how everything has played out: probly over 20 fired coaches, an entire program of championship football knowledge lost to the wind, multi-million dollar buyouts, an entire generation of Husker fans coming of age and really never knowing what it was like to be relevant... It seems to me that the Solich firing, as it happened, when it happened was probably not the right thing to have happened. One wonders if things had been done differently, where our program would be now: would it have fallen so far, or become so wayward.1 point

Lots of them, depending on what you call rough patches. Since Frank Solich went 9 - 3 only two years after playing for the National Championships, let's say the rough patch starts in 2004 with Bill Callahan and runs through three different coaches until 2017 (letting young Scott Frost off the hook for last year) In those 15 seasons, Nebraska went 122-69 and played in 11 bowl games, with one division title and two division title ties In those same 15 seasons, Michigan went 121-70, played in 12 bowl games, with zero division titles and two division ties Alabama had an 11 season stretch where they went 73 - 61, and even adding some Nick Saban years to get up to 15 seasons, Alabama went 117 -69 from 1995 - 2009 Texas from 1984 - 1999 was even worse, and hit another bad patch 2010 till 2017.1 point

Ok but how many have gone through 18 year rough patches and come back out of them?1 point

For me it's less about defending Pelini and more about recognizing the Perlman led drama surrounding the football program through multiple coaches and athletic directors.1 point

IMO this list does too much Monday morning quarterbacking. There is a difference between a hire turning-out bad and looking bad from the start. Riley was a WTF hire right out of the gate. Bo was nothing special but if you can a 9-3 coach you better be bringing-in a winner. Riley was respected in coaching circles but he was still an old .500 guy that was on the downward slide at Oregon State.1 point

@huskerfan333157 In the end, though, Callahan was Mr. 551. Yeah, there's a case to be made that he might've been OK if not for Cosgrove, but of course, he gets graded on what he did and not on what he could've done.1 point
