  1. I like the later date for the spring game. Hopefully all restrictions are gone by then.

  2. Relax Karen. I never mentioned it, you did... and you also managed to bring vaccines into the discussion.

  3. The team has adequate enough receivers to throw the ball downfield. The issue is having a QB that can find them when open.

  4. They also said to expect 20M vaccinated by the end of the year and the last I saw as of yesterday (Dec. 30) the total was up to a whopping 2.8M. It will summer, fall or later before everyone that wants to get vaccinated has access to the vaccine.

  5. I'm glad this is being discussed by Moos. No hiding behind the desk. Be open about what needs to get fixed and go get it fixed. No need to be sensitive about it. It's football. Fix it.

  6. THIS IS NOT A COVID THREAD But they've said vaccines should be fully available to the general public by April, so the May 1 date seems strategic. I like it.

  7. Nah, they won't read it. The sad/befuddling thing is, there are lots of Republicans in safe positions like Sasse that could write similar things and still get re-elected easily. Maybe if enough of them did it, it would make a difference. But then again they also could have made a difference multiple times with their vote and didn't.

  10. Martinez stats pass the brain test Martinez on field play doesn’t pass the eye test overall N talent doesn’t help either of those. He’s a good QB overall, with not great help around him to take the ball and just do some s#!t with it. as I type this it really really makes me hope they take Luke M and find ways to get him on the field 35-45 plays a game with targeted 8-12 plays, not at QB. martinez has good stats. The team hasn’t performed well with him as QB (W/L) but it’s not all his fault. f#&%, we might be close.

  11. Nothing you said showed they were trying to overturn the will of the voters. Please spend some more time looking into this. The examples are so vastly different from each other so as not to belong in the same conversation.

  16. My issues with Ben Sasse aside, that's a pretty stellar piece of researching, reasoning, and articulating the issue in a way his constituents should appreciate -- but probably won't.

  18. I think Husker fans have this problem. I look at Stan, Oz, Farmer from 2018....Great for NU, but not really even a blip on the NFL draft boards. We have been down for so long, that any player who "makes a splash" we think is the next sure fire guy to get drafted. And because he excels on our team, we equate this to success on other teams and at the next level. I do think we have some late rounds.UDFA guys right now that could go. In looking at this years draft, how many of our starters would start at another school? Taking off the homer glasses, probably not many.

  19. It's possible some of those bad throws were exactly where they were intended but the receivers weren't in their correct spots. People underestimate the chemistry/timing needed to complete passes at a high level imo..

  20. I wonder if people like this are flying right now just to be asshats. I flew recently and for the most part it was fine but there were 3 tough guy rebels who decided to only wear their masks at the last second as they were boarding, and then at some point in the middle of the flight there was an announcement on the plane that you had to wear your masks at all times unless actively eating and I was sure it was those dudes trying to keep their masks off just ‘cause they had a peanut on their tray tables.

  21. Trask was staring down receivers and was off on his throws all night. I dont know if it was because they were missing guys or he was having one of those games. Might be the hypesman curse also.

  23. If he has decided one way or the other he is keeping it pretty quiet. Word I am getting is exactly what Mav said. He is still considering options, one of which is coming back for another season.

  24. I would agree. The NFL is looking for guys who can run with the Tyreek Hill's on Sundays. Very few guys on the planet that can hang, no matter how much work they put in. That said, the NFL also needs practice squad guys to take a beating throughout the week for a decent paycheck. Maybe that is where DB can find a spot.

  25. Yeah my guess is surgery was maybe ECMO cannulation. Which is very dangerous as is, and most patients never come off ECMO. Either way, his doctors thought a risky, low chance of survival procedure was a better bet than letting him fight the virus on his own. So many people out there without a lick of medical experience, writing tweets like this - its frustrating. (Now I see Fox News is running with the heart attack story as well).

  27. I guess you could say Bootle was consistent, and this may be a knock on our entire defense as much as it is on Bootle. But the amount of snaps he played with only one career interception almost has to be a statistical anomaly...

  31. JoJo, Honas and Stille are likely coming back. They all need another good season to get drafted. Right now they would go UDFA. You make a lot more money by getting drafted than you do going as a UDFA.

  32. Good luck to all these guys going into the NFL draft. Not many of these guys are "leaving early" more just deciding not to come back for their 6th year and that is very understandable.

  34. There's plenty of stupidity to go around in both parties, which is why there should be way fewer people belonging to them, but it's a lot harder for a smart person to rationalize being a Republican right now.

  36. 16 of our 22 WRs are underclassmen this year. Guys like Alante Brown, Zavier Betts, Demariyon Houston, Jamie Nance, and even Omar Manning (a Jr who didn't play) will change the look of this offense drastically in the next year or so. Of those six upperclassmen, Manning hasn't played, and guys like Christian Banker and Ty Chaffin are just practice squad fodder. Kade Warner has been a warrior for us but isn't gifted, Levi Falck was just getting his feet wet in Frost's offense, as was Oliver Martin.

  37. I think so, I think right now are biggest problem is lack of home run threats via running or passing. That means we have to sustain long drives for nearly all of our scores, and when you are prone to penalties, bad snaps, and fumbles, that makes it tough to do. Thus why we have put up a decent amount of yards but have failed to put up a lot of points. So we need to: Find a threat in the vertical passing game. I can't recall us having one deep throw for a score. Wandale was close on one and Martinez over threw him. Play a running back with a little more speed. I liked Mills and he did finally pop a few big runs against Rutgers but he still couldn't score. He's a tough runner but in my opinion we need a guy that we can get into space and he can break runs for TD's. Of course we have to get him into space which goes back to our previous point. Eliminate more of those penalties, bad snaps, and turnovers so that we aren't getting behind the sticks when you are trying to sustain long drives. Score in the red zone. We weren't great inside the 20 this year. Bottom line is Frost's offense isn't built on sustaining long drives. You have to hit some home runs and we aren't hitting them. Just my idiot opinion.
