It would be pretty f#&%ing awkward for UGA to come there for an in-home and there is Dom, shirt off, feet up on the coffee table, eating some chips.17 points

If I understand your point, you want Rhule to ignore a 5 star quarterback who wanted to visit so he doesn't hurt some coach's feelings from Norfolk?15 points

At this point and the horrendous play we've witnessed over the last 5 years it won't surprise me when Dylan returns home and confirms he's fully committed to Georgia and honestly, I'll be just as excited about that. One player doesn't make a team but one player can sure as heck become a team problem. Rhule, is taking a huge chance with this and in the end it could greatly effect the in-state recruiting and trust of in-state coaches. Will it? Time will tell but Rhule has put in considerable effort to rebuild trust and I'd hate to see this saga end with those efforts washed away. There's loads of talent in-state over the next 2 years. Hoping we get every in-state athlete we target. Hoping I (and those like minded) am completely wrong about "breaking the coaches trust". There's loads of current and former coaches here and I'd like a couple of them to actually address this with their truths and why they base their truths as such.15 points

Georgia is having a last-minute in-home visit with Dylan Raiola. All of a sudden, the lights go dark and Sirius starts playing as Donnie walks in from the kitchen.13 points

You are either overthinking or clearly out of your mind. Or trying too hard to put him on the bench and wait his turn. Let me run it down to you so it makes sense. - 3 years have come and gone, and he has been "The best HS QB prospect" across the board, or near it, year after year. The Best. Among the best. -He is 230lbs. He's 6'3. Do you think he needs time to sit and redshirt to get physically ready to play football? Think about that. -He played great in Texas. He played great in Arizona. He played great in Georgia. He's a great player. - He has three years before he can go pro. Why would you want him to sit out one year behind HH or Purdy for a year? 3 years and gone to be a Pro player. - Why would you think he needs to sit behind anyone? Has Nebraska had QB troubles over the years? Has Nebraska been to bowl games in 6 years? Do you sit and wait your turn, even if you are the best on a team that wins 4 or 5 games a year? That doesn't make sense. -Why do you need to have a transfer QB to come in and have him carry the clipboard? Did 2AM not start his true freshmen season and do Ok? You don't have to expect miracles during year one with him starting when he earns that right, with the best arm talent and physical ability on the team. I just think the idea to "redshirt him, let him sit back and learn and get physically ready so he can be great in year 3 and 4" is ridiculous. That's old 80's and early 90's thinking. If he's the best QB recruit in HS and bails out on Georgia, says "No thank you" to Alabama, USC, Texas, Ohio State, LSU, Oregon, Washington, etc, etc.......... you know he's already the best QB on the team. No offense to Haarberg and Purdy and Sims (who had to leave). Please don't tell me you have to wait your turn to play QB at Nebraska. The whole state and fan base will tell you "Well, if he's that good, get him out there on the field ASAP". Unless you like fullbacks and walkons.11 points

I’m not sure if elite is the right word. Maybe crazed and desparate.10 points

We want the Nebraska kids, don't get me wrong, but there absolutely is not the same level of talent in Nebraska that we are talking about in signing DR. This is the one spot where one guy can be the difference. You don't pass this opportunity up.9 points

Well there has never been a true sophomore QB drafted ever since that isn't possible. You have to be in school for 3 years before you can declare. But yes we haven't had a great history of QBs. Raiola could change the narrative if he gets the right coaching and development from the staff.8 points

It isn't really hard for the board to go up in flames. Half the time the thing isn't even working. It isn't really hard for the board to go up in flames. Half the time the thing isn't even working.7 points

It’s already 9am and there are no creepy, grainy photos of Raiola eating breakfast. I’m shocked.7 points

Just like I peek in your classroom window each day...it is just me...watching you. 100% chance someone complains that it is being "mean". Also, DO NOT use it on my posts...or I will complain.7 points

When you warn of the potential blowback from coaches and recruits in-state, are you referring to the Kaelin situation? Last I heard Rhule had been upfront with him about Raiola and was still honoring his scholarship. That’s the best any recruit could hope for in such a situation. It’s unfortunate for Kaelin and I feel for the kid, but I’m confused by your take. What was Rhule supposed to do in that situation? Tell Raiola to kick rocks?6 points

Raiola isn’t coming. He is using this as leverage. When it is announced, this entire board will go up in flames.5 points

Yeah, now look at the 15 high school receivers recruited that weren't one year rentals. They were non factors. The runningbacks have be equally as bad.4 points

We've sent the same number of QBs to the league after two seasons as Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, USC, Texas and Oklahoma combined.4 points

You have to be out of HS 3 years to be eligible for the draft. If he starts next year he has to be a junior to leave.4 points

Let's rephrase that: Rhule is taking a huge chance with this and in the end it could greatly AFFECT the recruiting and trust of sons of former players, especially ones that are extremely talented and highly desired. Etc. etc. Rhule HAS to do what he's doing right now. Any f***ing adult should understand this situation is special.3 points

In fairness, that's mostly because the running backs and receivers have been terrible. The only way Nebraska was able to move the ball was through QB runs.3 points

Poor guy has to go incognito now that Raiola is N. That, or he's given up on football and he's decided to take up a new career by following in Arik Gilbert's footsteps.3 points

For this year that’s a smart decision. Get good training at a place you are comfortable with knowing you can transfer anywhere for free when you feel like you are ready to play3 points

It looks like Georgia won’t be hurting at QB. The other guy they have committed, a four star, looks really good. He’s more mobile. DR appears to be a serviceable runner but not a dual threat like the other guy. I don’t expect to see the option run with DR. But that is ok with me. I rather have a great passer versus a great runner. We saw how that went last season.3 points

Apparently there was a video of the whole thing from the press box that got deleted quickly. We live in an era where WE are Big Brother so here's a screenshot: Good luck actually determining who the hell that really is on the field though2 points

It would be adjusted to work with that defense better. I am with @Born N Bled Red in not wanting to see that. Iowa actually having an offense would be not good for Nebraska.2 points

The only good news I heard today is the rumor that Frost might be Iowa’s offensive coordinator. That is one game we are sure to win next year if that happens.2 points

When we were getting ready for a lockdown drill I was going over the protocol for my room to let them know where we go and how we handle ourselves. Of course kids have a million “what ifs” and the kids started talking about how my room/shop is a great place to be since we had “weapons” (tools). I actually had a serious conversation with 13 year old that if you stab a gunman with a screwdriver, go for the throat. I wish I was kidding. And no one in the room thought it was weird, and coworkers didn’t bat an eye when I said I just had the saddest talk. Education in America…2 points

If he does commit today that still leaves like 4 days for him to change his mind and flip somewhere else. I feel like that's still too much time on the clock2 points

The guy is literally on campus right now. Do you think he came here to say oops, nevermind? Worst case scenario, he’s not yet 100% sure.2 points

I’m glad to have it his (alleged) commitment, but what a waste of an opportunity. We needed him to commit in the summer for peer recruitment.2 points
