  1. All this talk about fixing social security, medicare, and medicaid. Here's an idea: get rid of social security and pay out the rest until it's gone. Then we don't have to worry about it any more.

Social Security needs to be fixed, not killed, and it's easy to fix it. Just raising the lid so that Social Security taxes continue to be paid on incomes over $90,000 would go a long ways, and it would be more fair. It's unbelievable how the heavier tax burden has been shifted onto the middle and lower classes over the past 30 years.

It would have been fine had the government never borrowed from it. The government used SS money to fund other things even though it was never created to be used in that manner.

    4. HuskerShark

      HuskerShark

Exactly. If people are going to put together a retirement fund, they should be able to do it how they see fit. Not have the government try and do it for them.

  2. 1620 just said that 2 guys have a good chance at getting the job of DB coach. I think it was Damon who said that 1 of them is someone who has coached at Nebraska before, with experience as a DB coach/GA/intern. He wouldn't say who it was, but it's beautiful message board material for speculation. Have at it, Huskerboard! Who is it?

  3. The Martinez situation is a little eery to me. Coaches said he wouldn't play until he's 100%. Now he's going to play but may not start... Feels a lot like the Denard Robinson situation last year for Michigan. Anybody else get that sense?

This is about how Trump, who no longer looks that likely to reach the 50% threshold clearly required for a noncontested GOP convention, might not get the ticket.

Truth is we won't know for a few years how good of a job Riley did on this class. Now obviously in a few weeks we will find a reason to be optimistic or pessimistic about this class and will either call it best/worst ever without any true privilege to the most important details... How the players actually play on Saturdays.

    4. Thanks_Tom RR

      Thanks_Tom RR

Yes. Realistically, this class should get to 25, and it is unlikely Nebraska get anyone committed in December. That means they need 10 guys in January. The most needed positions, safety, DL, and OT, are in the ditch recruiting-wise.

  7. Peyton Manning is incredible. This Broncos team may be the best I've seen since the 18-1 Pats.

I agree with you Knapp, but obviously we're not gonna score every time. I'm just talking about it situationally. Coaches have to have the perspective to understand that at times, we just need to slow it down. It just appears to me to have a impact on the team mentally.

  20. Per Sean Callahan, a source inside the program told him that if the coaching staff is let go, Randy Gregory will highly consider going pro. I wouldn't be surprised if Abdullah does the same. Just small examples that if Bo is fired, this program will be set back even further. Stay the course, fix the special teams, shove Beck out the damn door, and see what happens.
