  1. Just think if Sparty established any semblance of an offense earlier in the year. They wouldn't have lost to a mediocre Notre Dame team, and they'd probably be rated somewhere from 6 to 10 in the polls.

I almost wish this would have happened too lol.

Right behind 5 to 9 SEC teams

Refs in ND game kept throwing flags for PI, keeping ND drives alive. Otherwise ND loses

  2. check out those SEC defenses. Theyve been getting manhandled by the other team's offense all night long.

The media always tries to brag up SEC defenses and how nobody can move the ball against them. Not this year...

      SEC offenses aren't exactly explosive...

  3. hats off to the defense so far. Now just to find an OC that sticks to what works and doesnt get too cute...

  4. TWOS is up! Excellent!

The promises of the white man are easily broken.

  5. I guess I don't understand why a team who got beat by Utah is still rated #5 in the nation....

    1. sd'sker

      sd'sker

that is what i have been thinking. and ou is #10. not a lot of top-quality teams.

    2. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

I think Stanford is making a pretty good claim for being in the top five right now.

  6. And there is the downfall of Oregon's offense: red zone productivity.

  7. Good Lord, strap on the flags...

  8. It could be a tough road ahead. Our OL is so beat up right now, as are our receivers, and Beck really hasn't called a good game all year. Yesterday's game was probably the best that I saw all year, and it still wasn't good.

The biggest thing from here on out is going to be staying out of 3rd and long.

  9. Wow, Oregon State's uniforms are atrocious.

  10. For those looking for perspective, check out TWOS's new post: http://www.tunnelwalkofshame.com/post/65431106170/you-can-be-mad-at-bo-but-dont-stop-there

  11. This weekend against NW, Beck needs to be committed to the run game. Every team this year has run over NW's DL with straight power. Time for us to do the same, then continue that approach for every game the rest of the season. In other words, RUN THE BALL!!!!!!!!

    1. tmfr15

      tmfr15

Trouble is that every other team will be able to do that to us as well.

    2. HuskerShark

      HuskerShark

That doesn't mean that our offense should stop running the ball. It's time for the entire team to grow a pair and start being the more physical team on the field.

  12. Zero heart, terrible play calling, and sh#tty execution... I'm not a defensive genius, but something just isn't right there. And on offense, why did we stop running the ball? Did we hire Mike Leach as OC?...

    1. Count 'Bility

      Count 'Bility

You should know that we dont need to run the ball with Tom Brady at qb, errr........ n/m.

  13. The Martinez situation is a little eery to me. Coaches said he wouldn't play until he's 100%. Now he's going to play but may not start... Feels a lot like the Denard Robinson situation last year for Michigan. Anybody else get that sense?

I dont bout any of that, but that Armtinez/Marmstrong line is pretty sweet. I have hunch that'll wind up in the Tunnel at some point.

Feel bad for RG3 that he had to get stuck with Shanahan

    3. husker07

      husker07

Agreed. He's made matters worse for himself, but it's the coaches job to reel in a young player, especially your franchise quarterback.

Yeah...he's really good according to this game #Romoputsup48andstillloses

  16. As someone who participates in numerous community service projects on a regular basis, I am offended that a sports team is named the Volunteers. They need to change it.

  17. Why is everyone making such a big deal about Yasiel Puig celebrating when he hit that triple? Is he not allowed to get excited on the baseball field?

      I am I

Watched Puig play two games at coors field. That dude is anything but lackadaisical. He had time to wave to chicks in the stands (which I cringed at) and still catch an insane foul ball. AND almost hit the cycle. Dude is sick. Cocky? Yeah. But he backs it up

    3. EZ-E

      EZ-E

Zero issue taken. He looked dumb doing it though as he should have just ran. No issue with getting excited on the baseball field.

    4. suh_fan93

      suh_fan93

I like Puig. He is exciting to watch and baseball needs that with all of the PED talk it's endured.

  18. Granted, the level of competition hasn't been great the past 2 weeks, but if you aren't encouraged by the defense's performance at the very least, then you're insane. It's been about 4 years since we've seen our front 4 put pressure on the QB like the have so far this year.

then call me insane. I wont be at all happy with the defense until we do it against a good team.

    3. HuskerInLostWages

      HuskerInLostWages

I've seen this before, get hopes up after a few games against poor teams and come out to lay an egg against a team with a pulse. Not getting my hopes up until it's proven they can be consistent.

    4. HuskerShark

      HuskerShark

People forget that Illinois' offense is actually pretty good. It's their defense that is atrocious.

  20. Article today on HuskerMax: "Bo Must Do Better Job of Developing Walk-Ons". Seriously?...... A year ago we were complaining about the lack of athleticism on our defense. Further proof that it doesn't matter what Bo does, people will never be happy with it.

I used to like Huskermax because it was a quick reference for the Husker articles. But, all it is now is a big commercial for Max's products/services. Gene Simmons thinks Max does too much sales & marketing.

f#*k David Max. And if you ever meet anyone who pays him $$$/year for that idiotic forum, kick them squarely and forcefully in their shrunken, sad set of testicles.

  21. Dan Hoppen ‏@danhoppen 1h John Papuchis named Charles Jackson, LeRoy Alexander, Jonathan Rose and Maliek Collins as guys who could see increased playing time.

Does anyone have any insight into Afalava's absence. It has to be due to not knowing the defense because that guy is a beast and could definitely bring something we're missing out there.

Alf's head was spinning still but he should settle down after a couple more games of getting reps.

  22. Peyton Manning is incredible. This Broncos team may be the best I've seen since the 18-1 Pats.

Peyton is clearly the better QB between him and Wilson. But I do think Seattle has the better team.

Peyton is the GOAT. Tom Brady wishes he were Peyton Manning.

    4. zoogs

      zoogs

OK, I suspect Tom Brady's pretty happy being Tom Brady. Peyton's still amazing, though. I will miss watching him play.

  23. Zero personnel issues with the defense. It's all in the scheme. Too few defenders in the box all game long to expect to consistently stop the run. B1G play could be ugly if Bo doesn't adjust.

    2. The King

      The King

Charles Jackson + Jonathan Rose MUST be in the game. That is personnel issues. Our best open fielder tackler isn't in (when one of our biggest weaknesses is open field tackling).

    3. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

Still way to much trouble covering a running back out of the backfield. They look around and wonder who was supposed to cover the guy. One of three things. Players aren't buying in and are playing for themselves. The scheme is to difficult or they aren't very bright.

    4. BIG ERN

      BIG ERN

Agree on C Jacks and Rose

  24. Finally got to watch the first half of the UCLA game last night. Let's just say I still have high expectations for this defense by the tail end of the season. I'm particularly a fan of Avery Moss. That kid's an athlete.

      Count 'Bility

I agree with you Knapp, but obviously we're not gonna score every time. I'm just talking about it situationally. Coaches have to have the perspective to understand that at times, we just need to slow it down. It just appears to me to have a impact on the team mentally.

    4. Chaddyboxer

      Chaddyboxer

Out-choached in the game for sure..and TMart didn't look like himself for most of the game....

  25. You know, tOSU had some pretty serious stuff go down, and I'd say they're in pretty good shape. Same with Oregon. And Texas A&M. So IF Bo isn't the guy anymore, we just have to find the nest rising star in coaching and make him a Nebraska guy.
