  1. While watching the Texas/Kansas game I kept seeing a player for Texas with a last name of Allen who greatly resembled Teddy Allen. Turns out he is Teddy's younger brother Timmy.

Yeah I just learned this a few weeks ago myself.  Looks exactly like Teddy also.

  2. Wisconsin is trying hard to sign Luke Fickell today. Sounds like they may be close to a deal.

Why would a Prom Queen have smooth thighs, as a point of reference?

If a prom queen doesn't have smooth thighs I don't know who would.

  4. 73 year old Chuck Norris shaved his beard. I'm wondering if a razor company paid to use this in a commercial. If so that should be worth half a mil.

Chuck Norris doesn't shave. He glares at the facial hair and it falls off.

Maybe......if the razor company was Stihl or Husqvarna.....maybe.

  5. A Houston Texas high school 4 x 100 relay team that won it's district race to qualify for the state meet was disqualified when one of the runners looked skyward and pointed to the heavens after winning.

Running backs can't touch someone with the crown of their helmet any longer. The fun police have officially won.

  6. About 20 years ago there was a little seen movie where an alien came to earth as a human to observe our species. As he noticed the difference between men and women he stated "Women enjoy movies where one person dies slowly while men enjoy movies where many people die quickly!" I didn't see "John Wick 1" but went to 2 last night. Can we say OVERKILL?

TS - That's how I felt about JW1. It was entertaining but the lack of plot meant any sequels wait for Netflix...

John Wick is the kind of movie you watch on HBO at 2am.

  7. After watching tonight's 30 for 30 about the Duke Lacrosse team, I wonder how much money Duke Univ had to pay to coaches and players who were hung out to dry. I'm guessing (multiple) 10's of millions.

      QMany

The three main characters as well as 38(!) others reached undisclosed settlements. I doubt it was cheap.

Duke bought the house where the party happened and immediately turned it down. It was right down the road from where we almost got married.

  8. And Ohio St hires Kevin Wilson as O coordinator. The rich get richer.

Someone either needs to be let go from the current staff or they will need to wait to hire Wilson until the NCAA makes a decision on adding a 10th coach in April.

    3. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

Tim Beck left to go to Texas. I would think the QB coach would be less important than an OC and he would be the one waiting.

    4. jaws

      jaws

Did you see JT Barrett throw the ball the last few games? At this point in time I think a QB coach is one of the most important people on the staff. I have to imagine that OSU is doing due diligence investigating Wilson's past. Also, they still have Ed Warinner, the current OC, on staff. The last time OSU lost to Clemson they made staff changes like this and the next year they won the NC. I am not saying they will win it next year but they saw a problem and they are attempting to fix it.

  9. Argument with my son tonight. The discussion was if Westy had caught the ball before it crossed the endzone but his feet had stayed in the endzone when he came down would it still be a TD? I know Westy did reach back with the ball to make sure but if he had been tackled with his feet in the endzone but the ball out of the endzone would it still be 6? I say no, son says yes.Discuss.

      Atbone95

What shyndy is saying is if you catch a ball on the sidelines, the ball can be two yards out of bounds (in the air) and as long as you can snag it while keeping your feet in bounds it's a catch. Not sure why the same wouldn't be said for TD's. It's the same for the back of the end zone- if the balls out the back, the receiver jumps and grabs it, as long as he comes down with two feet in it's a TD?

    3. EbylHusker

      EbylHusker

That is the explicit rule, yes. You're not sure why the goal line is different? Because the rules explicitly say it is different. I don't see why this is even a discussion, go look at the rules and interpretations.

    4. husker ponsler

      husker ponsler

The ball has to cross the goal line to be a TD if he would have only had feet in he endzone it would not have counted unless the ball broke the plain.

  10. Big 10 basketball officials. The gift that keeps on giving. Mich St's Christmas came early.

I don't think Schefter was pointing out that he got overpaid. He just got out fast. Seems like a smart move. Although he missed out on potential millions, given his production.

  20. Do not expect James Robinson, the 16th best 2017 wide receiver to be on Ohio St's list of recruits. He visited this weekend in Columbus and was cited for marijuana possession and has been dropped off their list. We better stash our commits away for a week!

While I think (and hope) our recruits will hold on, they will have to poach someone to fill his slot. On another note I find it odd that 5 star recruits are taking OV's a week before signing day.

    3. huKSer

      huKSer

Do you think that some of the WR recruits can pack 200 lbs on them so we can have some linemen?

5' 9" and 350 lbs might not be exactly what we want :-) but it's a thought!

Probably not. Obviously we haven't heard from DR himself to see what his story. The story didn't say anything about him playing at NU and it probably won't be a national story with legs.

      CheeseHusker

But only former Huskers that play for Detroit, for some reason. Maybe it's the Lions and not us?

  23. George Sauer Jr passed away yesterday. He was one of Joe Namath's fav receivers on the 69 Super Bowl team but retired in 71 at age 27. His father grew up in southeast Nebraska and played at Nebraska in the 30's. If I remember correctly George Jr played for Alabama against Nebraska in the Sugar Bowl
