Anyone regret cutting the cord for cable/satellite? I know there’s been threads on here with this discussion but I can’t seem to find them. I’m pretty nervous about it

I don't miss it at all. I subscribe to Netflix and Amazon Prime year round, and Vue during football season. I usually run my Vue subscription for about five months then cancel as soon as football season is over. The five month Vue subscription is probably close to one month of a cable subscription.
-
I have no regrets. The one thing is I've gone back and forth between DirectTV Now and PS Vue a couple of times; DTV has the better channel package but the service is much worse (buffering).
I have three Rokus and I run PS Vue, Netflix and Hulu on all of them. I have the middle package with PS Vue and I'm getting BTN, a few ESPNS, the Golf Channel and three of four networks (no FOX atm due to a dispute).I was very apprehensive about doing it because of the sports angle, but it has turned out to be better than I ever thought it would be.
Not being locked into a contract and being able to switch on / switch off is a godsend.

My God, Bahe is a tool. Just entrapped a caller and then berated him.

Oh Ewwww! I can't stand Colin Cowherd. You're being nice calling him by his proper name! I have another name in mind but will not voice it. I remember he ripped Nebraska on air for being an 'option' football team. He said it had no place in college football anymore and that the NFL certainly didn't use it. I haven't listened to him since.
-
Ok, after listening to it I think the topic is pretty interesting so I don't agree with the caller that it's much ado about nothing especially given that Nebraska isn't going to a bowl game so you need some topics to fill the airwaves. Now, I do think Bahe seemed to get defensive really quickly and came across really thin skinned. Bahe seemed to take personal offense that the caller disagreed with his take which is really stupid for a sports talk radio to do. The caller didn't personally attack Bahe or anything but it just reaffirms my opinion of Bahe's show which is there are better ways to spend my day than listening to his show.
-
Xmas32-I agree with your perspective 100%. Good grief! Bahe is supposed to be a professional! You get all kinds when you open your program up to the general public to comment. We've all talked about whether Scott should coach the Peach Bowl or not but no one got nasty about it! Thanks for your perspective!

Advice on feeding a 13 year old boy. I may have to give him up. An entire Costco box Of 17 hot pockets in a week. That’s in addition to his normal ration of 5 meals a day.

BigRedNation is reporting that "maybe" an agreement has been met with ChrisDel Conte. Maybe is a really strong qualifying term and I don't know if the site is reputable or for click bate- but its on FB so I wanted to share.

Yeah the link you posted looks like fake news (If that's what you meant.). What I posted is from Husker Board Rumor Board so take it with a grain of salt. Mr. Del Conte sounds like a promising candidate but I'm sure there are others out there that are just as qualifies. I want the search committee to take their time.

It's official. Del Conte is NOT. A candidate. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/blogs/tcu-athletic-director-chris-del-conte-says-he-isn-t/article_12e1feea-ac73-11e7-b46e-2f49683fc11c.html

No Sex in the Champagne Room is still one of the greatest comedic tracks ever. “If someone steps on your sneakers - let it slide, it’s not worth going to jail over someone smudging your puma.” Reminds me of riding the jam packed subway to the Bronx for a Yankees game and this young punk started tripping after a dude stepped on his kicks.

Any educated guesses about the start time for the Michigan State game? Trying to pre-plan my planning

Most comicable coin flip ever.

Yeah, so I'm wondering why it was OK that they reflipped it. Interesting.
Also interesting: they didn't let Rodgers make a new call for the coin with the new flip. The first time, the ref started the coin from H. The second time, he started it from T. Rodgers wanted to switch his call. But then we might've missed that epic ending.

A thread I was reading early (can't remember) mentioned something about a Nebraska foundation having 2.3 billion in it. Can someone give a name or some general info on this foundation? It's very interesting and I'd like to know more.

Yeah, I don't really know a whole lot more than what I found on their web site. I know about the difference between the ticket price and the donation because I'm a season ticket holder. And I vaguely knew about some of what the Foundation did. But I just got the rest of that out of their Annual report.
It is pretty interesting that it would seem like most of it does go to more of the academic side of the University - though "Campus and building improvements" probably goes toward a lot of athletic facilities. -

is there flexibility in the spending- or does it have to dedicated to building, scholarships, and so on? Just wondering where money for buyout of coaches salaries may come from but it also sounds like there are other foundation type companies out there too. I'm sure there is a reason for this -transparency or non transparency maybe, or maybe because every time the university wants to do some spending they can do without getting taxpayer approval? It sure is muddy out there and there sure is a lot of money floating around universities. Looks like they could freeze the cost of tuition for awhile.

Suggestion for meal replacements shakes? I know there's a ton, but I'm looking to drop 10 pounds in a month and absolutely do not have time to learn a whole new meal system. Don't want to be hungry or spend any extra time thinking

If you're married have your wife wash your hair over the kitchen sink. You could also take a cab or have a friend drive you to a hair salon. You might want to cut your hair shorter until you get to the point where you can shower again.
Also, invest in a roll of press 'n seal wrap to cover your bandages so they don't get wet.
I was also going to tell you to make sure you stay in the sling during your waking hours. I slept with it on the first week just so I wouldn't accidentally hurt myself. Mine had a little loop on it for my thumb so I wouldn't accidentally reach forward.

For all you hunters out there- do you ask farmers if you can hunt their land? I've been asked by a neigherbor, and I really don't care, but does the landowner have any liability?

One guy on first, one out. Batter lines out to 6 who then those to first 6-3 for the third out. Is that just scored a DP? That is the way the rule book wordily reads, but shouldn't the baserunner be marked for something for being too far off 1st?
-
What is a good and semi-pricey bottle of liqueor to bring to a tailgate party in anticipation of a CWS birth? Tequila is a pretty obvious choice, but I'm thinking about a scotch or something a little different. Any suggestions?

I’m really trying with this Olympics but it’s pretty blah.

No, I'm talking about the instances of people tearing his head off specifically because of the flag. Nothing to do with the conduct allegations. There were many, many people that did so. It was ridiculous. So many idiots on Facebook. But yeah, there were a lot of people going after him about the conduct thing too.
-
The flag thing sounds kind of dumb. I haven't followed the response but it seems like a microcosm of our poorly ordered priorities that a flag mishap fans attention and this dark splotch on his past is so freely brushed aside -- or worse, framed as an incident of bad press which he suffered and which now, as a triumphant Olympic athlete, he is overcoming.

Need to prepare for my MLB drafts stat! Any recommendations for tv shows, podcast, websites would be appreciated. I must do better this year. Any opinions on what positions to draft first?

I prefer ERA vs. FIP/xFIP/SIERA, SwStr%, K% - BB%.
You can find all of those over on Fangraphs if you familiarize yourself with how to make a custom Leaders graph. They should have norms for how to interpret each of those stats on Fangraphs if you search for them. Obviously FIP/xFIP/SIERA are interpreted on the same scale as ERA.

Would Alex Gordon have the same legacy and career had he not been a Royal?

@krc1995 the Royals probably did move Gordon up to the majors too quickly, but they were also hurting for attendance during that time, and knew that Gordon being up in KC would bring droves of fans from Nebraska to go to games.
As a Royals fan, I am very happy with the way his career turned out, and how he was a big component to their World Series teams in 2014 and 2015, especially the World Championship in 15.

"The same people who sit out in our stadium on their hands and don't cheer are the same people who sit back and criticize our quarterback -- a kid who's out there busting his butt and putting up good numbers," Pelini said.
