@funhusker yep, that is the only way to avoid it.  Literally everyone who plays basketball as a human gets a taunting technical in every game they play in.  So there's really no other way around it.

UCF’s claim this year is only slightly more ridiculous than Michigan’s in 1997. 

The national championship should be settled on the field. Major conference champions should be in the playoff. So should all undefeateds whose schedules aren’t a complete joke. At the end of the day, UCF will have as good of a claim as whoever wins the game.

Actually UCF’s claim is a whole lot less ridiculous than 97 Michigan’s. Nebraska would’ve completely murderized Meatchicken. Not so sure UCF wouldn’t have held their own against about anybody this year.

@ZRod I don’t think Lee had a future in Frost’s offense, to be honest. But I do agree he needs more time. Too bad he couldn’t transfer again.

I don't get the thought that Lee "needs more experience", the guy is 23 years old, has been in college for 5 years, and started for 3 seasons.  He's not going to "get better" with another year of college football.

@ColoradoHusk it stems from the fact that he's never really had a College coach that has been able to help him out, nor has he had a competent O-Line *and* WR corps to play with, so we really don't know his potential and if he's NFL material or not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I would suggest that Lee may actually do well in the CFL and could then translate that success into a NFL gig...that may be a more favorable option if the NFL doesn't pick him up.

We lost our best two players in the Yori/Williams transition, Natalie Romeo and Jess Shepard.

Williams signed a pretty decent recruiting class this past year, and she should be able to get more good players in as her system shows it can win.

Where did Shepard end up going?

She went to Notre Dame. The rich get richer.

 I'm too young to know about the others but Suh should have been a winner. Him not winning pretty much stamped the trophy as nothing more than a charade for the top team's top offensive players, not the best player in the country.

@ZRod IMVHO, Suh not winning when he was clearly the best player is what has led to the dwindling interest in the award. Ratings are down and it's not moving the needle with anyone anymore. There was a thread on Reddit a week or two ago about the Heisman and fans from all kinds of different teams cited that moment as when they lost interest.

@knapplc Agreed. There is something seriously wrong when one candidate single handedly destroys another's campaign in a single game and still finished behind him in voting. Whatever, I really don't care about the award anymore.

After the last 10 years, is this really worth getting annoyed by?  I mean, really?  A year from now nobody will even remember he coached UCF in their bowl.

I didn't say I was annoyed I said I would prefer the NU coaching staff to recruit for Nebraska fulltime.  We all would prefer this.  

Question: what does 'recruiting full time" look like and how would you know whether he's recruiting full time or not?  what is your criteria for recruiting full time? (Sincere question)

I've heard it but it bears repeating!  WHOO HOOO!  Now they play Kentucky AT Kentucky!  I hope they can pull off the win and go to the final 4!

So they should have won it last year and were ranked accordingly...now this year they get hosed on ranking and will win it all.

I think a Raptor could pull a stock trailer or a tree stump when you aren't launching it through the air. I haven't driven one but saw a video of one driven off-road. Very impressive for stock.

Not 100% sure but back when we had an athelete by the name of Hartung, we were pretty good in Gymnastics but I suspect we have been more successful at other sports since the late 70s. Don’t follow all of them like I used too. My bad

Yeah, when Frost referred to having his first child "at [his] advanced age", it threw me for a loop. Guy is 42, but he doesn't look it. 1997 really was 20 years ago, but you forget that...

The two 5 star sports at Nebraska are both in the ladies arena.  Volleyball and bowling. Guys try to keep up.

Cook won B1G coach of the year too. Deserved for what he did with the losses of 4 seniors and both assistant coaches 

Cook won the Big Ten Coach of the Year from the other coaches. The media gave it to Russ Rose, Penn State's coach, who returned a stable Asst. Coach staff and most of his big guns from last year's team.  It's a traveshamockery that Rose got half a share of Cook's award.  There is zero argument to be made that Rose's coaching job this year was on par with Cook's.

Wow! That is quite amazing. Definitely a class act.

Apparently the Rileys were guests of Tim Miles.  Left them tickets.

Man I love this guy. Really wish he was here in another capacity because he fits right in as far as demeanor and character. The type of guy you want young people to be around.

Rumors were swirling that his suspension had to do with his choices in beverages (excessive choices). He and another guy skipped the banquet over the weekend and now asked for release. Heard from people within the U of M. Not a great student-athlete as well.

Heard he was in Fleck's dog house all season for an off the field incident involving Marijuana.
