@funhusker yep, that is the only way to avoid it. Literally everyone who plays basketball as a human gets a taunting technical in every game they play in. So there's really no other way around it.
-
Why not? Lots of other schools claim disputed national championships. UCF shouldn't be any different.

UCF’s claim this year is only slightly more ridiculous than Michigan’s in 1997.
The national championship should be settled on the field. Major conference champions should be in the playoff. So should all undefeateds whose schedules aren’t a complete joke. At the end of the day, UCF will have as good of a claim as whoever wins the game.

Thanks for everything, Tanner. We'll always have the Purdue game!

@ColoradoHusk it stems from the fact that he's never really had a College coach that has been able to help him out, nor has he had a competent O-Line *and* WR corps to play with, so we really don't know his potential and if he's NFL material or not. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I would suggest that Lee may actually do well in the CFL and could then translate that success into a NFL gig...that may be a more favorable option if the NFL doesn't pick him up.

Last year Husker Women's Basketball went 8-22. It's not even January and they've already matched last year's win total and sit at 8-3. Amy Williams is getting it turned around.
-
Honestly, I'm surprised Florida won a game.

@Dilly Dilly Are we the same people? I am the same way

Yesterday, 12/14/17, was the 1,111th day since Penn State last beat Nebraska in Volleyball.
Today is the 1,112th day.

I genuinely do not understand how John Cook doesn't win AVCA Coach of the Year. Dumbfounded.

@RedDenver It's a fantastic book if you want to read a treatise about 18th century whaling techniques.

Since 1972 only six linemen were Heisman finalists. Three of them were Huskers.
Rich Glover - 1972
Dave Rimington - 1982
Ndamukong Suh - 2009

@ZRod IMVHO, Suh not winning when he was clearly the best player is what has led to the dwindling interest in the award. Ratings are down and it's not moving the needle with anyone anymore. There was a thread on Reddit a week or two ago about the Heisman and fans from all kinds of different teams cited that moment as when they lost interest.
-
@knapplc Agreed. There is something seriously wrong when one candidate single handedly destroys another's campaign in a single game and still finished behind him in voting. Whatever, I really don't care about the award anymore.

Nebraska's entire coaching staff is in Orlando with UCF for bowl practice.
-
Stop me if you've heard this before, but Nebraska just trounced Colorado. This time in Volleyball in the Sweet 16. 3-0 sweep.

Mike Riley introduced today as the Asst. Head Coach at Oregon State. Welcome home, Coach.

Nebraska claims 27 National Championships in all sports. Without looking it up, what Nebraska sports program has the most championships?
(deleted old post and edited for clarity)

Interesting fact courtesy of Brian Christopherson: Scott Frost is three years older than Bo Pelini was when Pelini took the Nebraska job in 2007.
-
Is Scott Frost going to be the first coach to win a championship, then announce he's leaving Disney World and going to Nebraska?
-
What a happy day.

Husker Volleyball won the Big Ten Championship last year. In the offseason our Assistant Coaches left, leaving Cook to rebuild his staff. At Louisville, Dani Busboom took a team that went 12-18 last year and got them into the NCAA tournament this year with a 24-6 record. At Illinois, Chris Tamas took a team that went 17-14 last year and got them back in to the tournament with a 21-10 record. That's a combined 16-win improvement over 2016, meaning these are two pretty good coaches, and were pretty big losses for Cook. All he did was rebuild his staff, have a better record in 2017 than in 2016 with a much younger team, won the conference and earned an easy berth in the NCAA tournament.

Cook won the Big Ten Coach of the Year from the other coaches. The media gave it to Russ Rose, Penn State's coach, who returned a stable Asst. Coach staff and most of his big guns from last year's team. It's a traveshamockery that Rose got half a share of Cook's award. There is zero argument to be made that Rose's coaching job this year was on par with Cook's.

Mike Riley went to the Nebrasketball game tonight and was seen shaking hands on the way out. Such a class gentleman and a great ambassador for Husker Athletics.

Garrison Keillor was fired by MPR today. He said his employer hadn't heard the whole story, but, "I'm 75 and don't have any interest in arguing about this."
That's not a denial.

@TonyStalloni Only the bad ones - and here's hoping they're absolutely losing sleep over this.

@The Dude if you've never listened to NPR it's likely you've never run into his work. His big claim to fame is a show he created back in the 70s called A Prairie Home Companion that ran until 2016.
-
There never was a camera crew outside Frost's parents' house. That was an exaggeration or a fabrication from Florida media. Someone called them for a comment, but nobody came to their home.

Minnesota's QB, Demry Croft, has asked for his release. What's up with that?

Dan Wolken is saying that Tennessee is going to hire Schiano, and their fan base is NOT happy. Tons of tweets to the AD saying they'll pull support from the school if Schiano is hired.

Husker Volleyball went 37-3 in the Big Ten over the last two years. Defeated 18 ranked teams in those 40 matches, six in the Top 10.
