  1. Can we all agree 24 hour news stations are the worst?

Speaking of Weinstein. $1mil bond is a joke for a guy of his stature and the crimes of his nature.

The same thing happened to ESPN, it's hot garbage now. Less facts and stats more tweets and fashion faux pas. Like an hour or 2 of sports things people actually care about, followed by poo.

I avoid all the news I can, whether the 24 hour variety or the 30 minute or 1 hour local news. 95% of it is just super depressing and 75% of it is sh#t I don't need to know about. I'm much happier when I don't see any news. I don't feel like I'm missing anything important and, if I am, I don't care.

Lets not get carried away. They are good to some degree and they would have beaten Portland, Min and SA out west. They aren't world beaters but I wouldn't say they aren't good in any way shape or form.

That said most playoff FG in 6 less games than the previous record holder has very little to do with playing these Celtics

    3. BIG ERN

      BIG ERN

21 yo Jaylen Brown is your best player and leading scorer....enough said there. Stevens made IT look like an MVP and then see what he was when he played with the Cavs and Lakers. Again, talent wise this team is not good.

    4. Nebfanatic

Not trying to prop up lebron here because Marcus Morris or whoever they can put on him is not elite and the Cavs should win this series, but Boston is better than you give them credit for. I honestly think they match up better against the Warriors. But Cavs will win and get destroyed in the finals.

      Horford is Bostons best player

  5. If Budweiser comes out with this George Washington beer every year, I might have something to hold me over until Samuel Adams Octoberfest returns.  Hash tag delicious.

He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy.

My childhood was typical.... summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap sack and beaten with reeds.... pretty standard, really.

Yes!  The lead in is similar "drive thru town", the music is simlar.  FB is involved but it's a broader look at high school in a small town.  I love it.

I've been meaning to check out 'Rise'.  Glad to hear it's getting some love.  FNL was just awesome and when it comes up available again for streaming on Netflix, I'll probably go through it again for the 3rd time....except for S2 of course.  Ain't nobody go no time fo dat.

Madden hasn't been good since 2008.  When it was good I found it to be far better than NCAA.

The NCAA games, however, were far better than the Maddens of the last decade.

I didn’t get into the show until college before I watched the reruns, but I liked it for the most part. I don’t remember specifically but how did they bring Dan back? I thought they split or he died in the original show.

    3. 4skers89

      4skers89

I think he's under the misconception that Frost will tailor the offense to what the line can do. If a guard can't pull they'll find a guard that can.

    4. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

Well, I think it will be some of both. Sure they aren't going to scrap their offensive plan or delete big chunks of the play book but it does sound like they will run things to the strengths of the players they have and that they will endeavor to have the best guys on the field. So when it comes time for an OL to pull, I bet they're doing it with a  guy that can get the job done or they won't do it. That'll be quite a change from what we had under Riley or Pelini. No more square peg round hole BS.

BTW, I've never seen Farmer speak before. Very articulate kid. I like it.

Well thanks @The Dude got me started on the Sopranos...again. I've got all the DVDs but just figured out it's on Amazon Prime so am watching it that way on my iPad so my wife can watch whatever stupid Hallmarkish thing she wants on TV for awhile   I'd never noticed before you mentioned it but yeah, Tony looks much younger in the pilot than he does in the 2nd episode. Didn't realize the pilot was done that much earlier.

I echo what Mav and others said about Twitter being a news vehicle which is what I use it for in regards to quick news on sports/recruiting/etc.  I'm a heavy user of LinkedIn due to my job but even that is starting to get annoying..granted that's my own doing as I have lots of connections so my feed is going to be pretty clogged.  I've never signed up for FB but might have to for work purposes (making sure anyone my clients hire isn't a crazy person in private).

It's a stroll in the park compared to the CDT. I've been thinking about doing that or the AT or PCT.

I could probably just do the CT in a month without having to quit my job.. Also considering the John Muir Trail.

    3. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

I'm more of a short day hike person. Haven't done any trails over about 4 hours. We did snowmobile about 60 miles of the CDT on New Years Day about 20 years ago. Between Grand Lake and Hwy 14 at Sleeping Elephant mountain. I wouldn't recommend hiking it in January

    4. The Dude

      The Dude

Looks like most people do the John Muir thru-hike in 3 weeks.   So that's probably more realistic.

4-6 weeks to complete the Colorado Trail.  I'd probably be closer to 6 weeks.  Heh

His voice rings through for me just about every time I think of the Cubs winning the World Series. I don't even really remember his call of that game (was in a very loud, crowded bar) but "Bryant... the Cubs... HAVE WON THE WORLD SERIES!" always sticks out. He can do no wrong in my eyes anymore.

  25. AFC always seems to send a bunch of crappy teams to the playoffs.

    1. mrandyk

      mrandyk

I was just talking to a friend about this. The past 15 years the AFC has been so top heavy. 1 or 2 teams with a shot at winning the title and then a bunch of garbage.

    2. Cdog923

      Cdog923

Since Brady and Belichick got together, I think there have only been 6 different AFC teams to make it to the Super Bowl: the Pats , Steelers, Colts, Ravens, Raiders and Broncos. On the NFC side, there have been 12 in that time frame.
