I remember in highschool the most high effort guy on our team in practice and games was the laziest ever in warmups. He was like Peter brother level in games though. Gotta save up I guess...

Some of the comments on that post are entertaining and sad at the same time, particularly the one that wants a petition for changing the name from Hawks Championship Center..... sure all you have to do is donate more than the Hawks family, hence the name-sake.

I am really tired of the Warriors, they are an NBA version of that asshole AAU team that doesn't play hard most of the time because they have all of the best players and nobody really reaches potential because of it.

Building the best team possible should always be the goal.  Don't fault the Warriors.  Fault the other 29 teams.

^ Well, when you put it like that.... I do love the free market.

  5. Wow, LeBron is playing with a bunch of bums. Absolutely remarkable that he's pushed this Warriors team to the limits twice in this series.

Don't think any of the rb's can take it to the house. The player we need back is Try Bryant. We will be ok with the guys that played Saturday, but Bryant is the one who excites me the most.

Dirk is an average writer to me. Sam used to be excellent. When he first started out his articles were interesting because they were real, fresh. As he became more popular his writing became more mundane.  I want the old Sam back. This one is seems to be rather  jaded-like the subject doesn't interest him anymore so he's resorting to. 'Click bait' mentality. I hate that.

Knappic, are you a writer yourself?  Or are in the journalist field?

    3. Cdog923

      Cdog923

I'll read Dirk's long form pieces; he did a story a few years ago about how football is dying in small-town Nebraska which is one of my favorite sports stories. I was also really looking forward to his series on Danny Nee until they hid a vast majority of it behind their online paywall.

Sam has just gone off the deep end since joining the OWH.

    4. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

I will admit that Dirk has his moments. I enjoy listening to him speak when he's a guest on Big Red Wrap Up.  I do like the longer pieces.

But Sam just makes me want to cry!  He's so talented!  Bring back the Old Sam:(

  14. I've been watching this game since the 17 minute mark in the 2nd half, and I've seen Michigan blatantly hook defenders with their off hand 3 times.

I really only dislike Hoppen’s crusade to crap on Stella’s and their burgers, but that’s mainly because I’ve personally worked with the family and it kills me to hear anyone discredit them and their business. I can understand why he rubs people the wrong way though.

I don’t trust OWH writers to give them as much credit when they actually do deserve it. I’m glad Bo is gone, but their coverage of Husker sports during and since then has me treading water on their writing. Feel like they ran with a stir-the-pot narrative for clicks and I’m over that shtick to give them the benefit of the doubt to read the good articles they produce.

    3. Xmas32

      Xmas32

My mindset on Hoppen changed a couple weeks ago when I stopped viewing him as a credible member of the media and started viewing him as a 25 year old kid that does food reviews and gives out hilariously bad hot takes on Twitter.  Now, I just picture Hoppen if he were a HB member and how we would all laugh at him when he posted his nonsense like his anti-Stellas campaign.

    3. ColoradoHusk

      ColoradoHusk

I don't know how people can say that KU got home-cooking calls when Duke was only called for 3 or 4 fouls in the 2nd half.  Their big guy played with 4 fouls for a LONG time.  I know he fouled out on a questionable call in OT, but I don't think KU got a lot more calls than Duke.

    4. NUance

      NUance

Yeah, sure the refs blew a couple of calls.  But don't they always?  And it didn't one sided, if you look at the whole game.

  18. Kansas St. has been to 12 Elite 8s and Nebraska can't even win a tourney game?

@TonyStalloni You don't even need 4 good players; get two high level kids and surround them with some that can shoot and/or play defense.

  19. Suh and Donald on the same defensive line would insanely scary.

    1. VectorVictor

      VectorVictor

Wow...teams would likely double-team Donald and free Suh up to wreck havok. I pity the teams that would have to play the Rams twice (or more) in a season--they'll likely end up with multiple offensive players on IR.

We will lose at least two of the defensive stars because of the money they are going to pay Cousins. Not a wise decision at all!

    3. In the Deed the Glory

      In the Deed the Glory

Meanwhile Green Bay is improving with big signings and more on the way.  I think the Vikings will have the division crown for exactly one season...

    4. B.B. Hemingway

      B.B. Hemingway

Touchdown Tommie, how do you figure? They've already got Smith/Rhodes/Griffen locked up long-term, and everything I've read says they confident that the money will be there to sign Barr/Kendrick/Hunter.

The window never stays open for long with the Vikings, so I'm thrilled they're trying to take advantage of it.

In the Deed. Jimmy Graham? Sure. Wilkerson? Yawn ..... As Green Bay proved last season, they're an Aaron Rodgers injury away from irrelevancy. Aside from the QB position (which is huge obviously) the Vikings are better equipped to last when compared to GB (And the Vikings just closed the gap some at QB).
