  3. The information is out there, its up to the public to figure out what is fact and what is fiction. See earlier today you cited townhall.com as an actual source - anyone that took a 5th grade English class could tell you that townhall.com is not real news (fake news?), It's a Fugayzi, fugazi. It's a whazy. It's a woozie. It's fairy dust. it doesn't exist. It's never landed. It is no matter. It's not on the elemental chart. It's not f#&%ing real. There is REAL journalism out there today - NPR for example. The real problem is people who read infowars and townhall.com and listen to Hannity all day - they think real, credible news is fake. The only thing that Trump exposed is that he is (still) full of s#!t and that if tells his base (not the majority of registered voters btw) not to believe it, then they'll look the other way. Also, if this new era of information gathering has been rough on you, I still have my 5th grade English teachers email address - you can email her. Little piece of advice, if it wouldn't be credible for a book report in her class, it's probably not suitable for you to eat up like a bowl of lucky charms at breakfast.

  5. It's been a few months on this. New news. Federal judge blocks Keystone XL pipeline, saying Trump administration review ignored ‘inconvenient’ climate change facts It was a major defeat for Trump, who attacked the Obama administration for stopping the project in the face of protests and an environmental impact study. Trump signed an executive order two days into his presidency setting in motion a course reversal on the Keystone XL pipeline, as well as another major pipeline, Dakota Access. The ruling highlights a broader legal vulnerability in the Trump administration’s push to roll back Obama-era environmental protections. Since Trump took office, federal courts have found repeatedly that his agencies have short-circuited the regulatory process in areas ranging from water protections to chemical plant safety operations. Robust environmental and administrative procedure laws, many dating back to the 1970s, have given the administration’s opponents plenty of legal ammunition. Thursday’s decision does not permanently block a federal permit for Keystone XL, a project of the Calgary-based firm TransCanada. It requires the administration to conduct a more complete review of potential adverse impacts related to climate change, cultural resources and endangered species. The court basically ordered a do-over. In a 54-page opinion, Morris hit the administration with a familiar charge that it disregarded facts, facts established by experts during the Obama administration about “climate-related impacts” from Keystone XL. The Trump administration claimed, with no supporting information, that those impacts “would prove inconsequential,” wrote Morris. The State Department “simply discarded prior factual findings related to climate change to support its course reversal.”

  7. Well, he did repeal legislation Obama put in place that makes it harder for people with mental illnesses to get guns. So, there's that. It's somewhat like healthcare. They oppose everything, repeal anything on the books..... promise something.....then.......chirp chirp chirp......... But....now is not the time to talk about it. It's time for thoughts and prayers.

  10. I will never in my life understand why a poor or middle class person would vote for a rich person to represent them, like the rich person knows what they are going through or even gives a s#!t what they are going through. We need more politicians like this if you really want to drain the swamp. Regular, working people that actually understand the struggle and want to make a difference.

  14. Speaking as a psychologist. It is not Mental Illness that leads people to violence. There are very very few behavioral patterns associated with increased violence, namely, they are a history of violence. Most individuals diagnosed with mental health issues are significantly more likely to be victims of violent crime than to perpetrate.

  15. I'm pretty torn. I really enjoy blaming Millennials for everything and figure GenZ is only going to get worse, but the young people I've actually spent time with are really solid, and if I'm being honest, we were kinda awful at their age.

  18. OK...I got interested so I went back and spent some time on this. Hey...it's Friday. Colorado = .337 PPP Troy = .253 PPP Mich = .185 Purdue = .346 Wisk = .352 Northwestern = .383 Minnesota = .726 BC = .703 OSU = .436 I think it's clear that there has been a steady improvement with obvious ups and downs based on quality of opponent. Last 5 games are .520 compared to the season average of .364.

  23. Probably just Clouse spewing nonsense sunshine pumping as always.... But "supposedly" there is talk of Marquez Beason (Illini Commit), Calvin Avery (Illini Player), Chevin Calloway (Former Arky starting CB, stepped away for personal reasons) looking to make a reunion (they all went to Bishop Dunne w/Daniels) possibly at Neb. Also talk of a similar situation involving some Georgia (the state) kids doing the same. Personally, I don't buy it.

  26. LOL....this is an interesting recruiting thread to read through. Good example of why nobody should get all worked up one way or the other on what an 18 year old kid decides to do. 4* (almost 5 star) kid commits two years before he graduates. De-commits when programs like OSU, Oregon, UCLA, Baylor start showing interest Commits to Illinois.....of all places Now....looking around again. Meh....if he signs here....great...if not....so be it.

  28. Presidential Debate Strategy I was having a discussion with a friend yesterday about this; I think Democrats absolutely need someone who can handle their own in the debate. I'm not saying out-Trump Donald's WWF antics. But they need to be informed, blunt, and somewhat entertaining. By all accounts, HRC dominated Trump on policy, facts, and logic. But that isn't what people saw. The highlights were 10-second antics (mostly lies). You have to be able to combat that. For example, if law enforcement is the topic: "I support our boys in blue. He attacks our FBI for doing their job. Campaign Chair, CONVICTED 8X. National security advise, PLED GUILTY. Foreign policy adviser, PLED GUILTY. Campaign Aide, PLED GUILTY. His own attorney pled guilty and accused him of federal crimes. Trump doesn't support law enforcement, because he runs a criminal enterprise." Long eloquent speeches and policy wonk talk don't cut it in that arena. Unfortunately, we live in a reality TV era and people want to be entertained, not educated.

  31. This is actually an argument against your point. You keep ignoring the effects of offense and special teams on the game and act as though defense happens in a vacuum. The only thing that matters is points scored vs. points against in a particular game, and if your offense plays fast your defense is going to face more series by the opposing teams, and will tend toward allowing more points, but that doesn’t mean they are a worse defense than one that allows less points while playing with a plodding offense that scores few points per game.

  33. If I'm running a business, i don't give a damn what language they speak as long as they have money to spend at my establishment. If I'm running a business I don't care what language they speak as long as they understand the job I have given them. If I'm running a city or state, I don't care what language they speak as long as they obey the laws and pay their taxes.

  37. Thanks bud. So the ultimate result is all that matters. There is no other metric that could possibly have value in characterizing performance. Trent Dilfer is a better quarterback than Dan Marino because ... Super Bowls. Any other statistic or quantitative judgement in between is meaningless because .... scoreboard.

  38. Unfortunately journalism today is opinion based. A simple headline can show the bias. Do you call those who disapprove of abortion pro-life or anti-abortion. Those opinions were better shielded in the past, but with the addition of cable news and social media, its harder for journalists to hide their bias. And with Trump exposing the bias, its left us in a new era of information gathering as consumers and voters.
