  1. This sounds like something a "f***ing Hillbilly" would say....

  2. How did you find this ancient thread? Nobody had posted in this topic since 2004 . #necrothreadoftheyear

  3. Wow, I was born and raised in Oklahoma and grew up enjoying watching the best two teams in the Big 8. I always had respect for Nebraskans. I had no idea what a bunch of bigots you are.

  4. Meh, even with a decent DC, I'd say Callahan's ceiling was lower than Bo's. He was always gonna be an awkward fit at best, no matter who his assistants were. There's a reason why he's stayed away from college coaching, and hasn't exactly been a hot name in head coach searches (other than a brief interim HC stint with the Redskins).

  8. So....I talk about Greene and your answer is....."she's not in leadership". I talk about someone who just is put into leadership and the dear leader of the party has christened her as a star of the party and your answer is....."She's just a place holder". Your answers are becoming comical.

  9. This reminds me of why it's smart for AOC not to debate MTG. "Never argue with stupid people. They will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience." -Mark Twain

  10. It's literally quotes from your party's leader and ex President. In other words, it's not like I had to try really hard. You say you agree with his policies. So, why wouldn't I also assume you agree with his comments on reasons for those policies? I think a lot of Trump's quotes I posted are from campaigns. So, in other words, you still voted for him after he made these comments.

  11. You sure are trying hard to make that narrative happen and fit the post I responded to.

  12. I tried looking at the Libertarian Party. Again, it just doesn't align with me. They are way too much of total deregulation, everything the government does is horrible, seems like every law or attempt to better our society infringes on rights....bla bla bla.....

  13. OH, and how about one of the loudest mouth pieces for the party. @Archy1221 https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/tucker-carlson-advertisers-770504/

  14. Well, that's funny because that is what people have said directly from your party. In fact, some of those comments have come from the President that you voted for. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jul/06/donald-trump-mexican-immigrants-tremendous-infectious-disease That's a direct quote from Trump while President. What is that about Mexicans being rapists? https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-37230916 Cool. This even comes with a video showing the quotes. Oh...yeah...and Mexico is going to pay for the wall to keep all those dirty disease infected rapists out.

  16. Who knows, I was more commenting on where Bo left the program. Better than Riley, but not in the best place. Hold me down and I'd say we're probably trending up and I'm cautiously optimistic that we're going to have a good jump in wins this year.

  24. You’re missing the point. What would he have done to do that? Presidents aren’t a big factor in every last detail of the economy. People have been blaming presidents for high gas prices based on partisanship for eons. It’s always been stupid.

  25. With Bo, he won the games he was supposed to win, but lost and lost big in the most high profile games he played. IMO, that was going to change if we had kept him on for a few more years. In his last year, we almost lost to a .500 Mcneese State. I mean its better than what we've been since he left, but we were trending down the last few Pelini years.

  26. I’ve said multiple times who my front runner for President is. it’s not incumbent on someone saying Trump is useless to the party. Just let him gradually fade away. Liz can’t win and only seems to want to be on cable news trashing the party. She is dismissible. But she’s getting what she actually wants now and that’s unlimited media time.

  27. You can put this to bed by naming the Republicans who you think are advancing an issues based platform, urging the party to get beyond its 2020 election fixation, and not afraid to call Donald Trump useless to the party. Some might suggest Liz Cheney fits everything you describe, but for some reason you consider her totally dismissible.

  28. Ha ha! I actually do think we'll be a lot better this year. It's just that, for the past three years I've been like Charlie Brown trying to kick that football: This is the year, I tell you. This is the year!

  29. Well Florida is kind of a thing all by itself. No doubt undercounts and confusion and inconsistency can be found in every state. Florida probably got a little extra heat on this one for past performance, including the previous Governor prohibiting the words "climate change" in any state report, even the ones dealing apolitically with issues like sinkholes and rising water lines. Florida is the mayor of Amity Island, insisting the water is safe for the big holiday weekend.

  34. From the same article, most of the average increase in wages is going to the top 10% which means the average you show is more and more skewed to the top. Top earners have higher buying power and further skew the average to remain constant in your graph while the majority begin to lose earning power. https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/08/07/for-most-us-workers-real-wages-have-barely-budged-for-decades/ More and more high income earners are reaping the benefits of society while the rest are slowly squeezed to the limit. Also, the peak in the graph in the 70's was when the effective nominal value of minimum wage peaked around $11/hr in 2016 dollars and has been eroding since.

  35. But the whole discussion we've been having, and the whole point of this thread, is that the GOP finds itself caught in a loyalty oath to Trump. When the job demanded advancing an actual platform, Trump generally followed the GOP playbook. But as a candidate, President, and now ex-President, the agenda was almost always about Donald Trump himself, and he spent an inordinate amount of time talking about his enemies. In one of the few speeches he made recently, he railed at a hand-picked group of guests at Mar-a-Lago about the Republicans who didn't back him loudly enough, and how they need to be replaced. The understanding is that future candidates and primary strategies will be running through Mar-a-Lago. You keep discussing Marjorie Taylor Greene, Laurene Bobert and Matt Gaetz as minor figures that shouldn't concern us, but like current and aspiring Republicans they have secured their political fortunes by aligning as Trump loyalists, despite their glaring ineptitude. Matt Gaetz should have been ousted from the party, and quite possibly in jail, but instead the ex-President hosts him at Mar-a-Lago events. You start to care about Republican leadership positions when the Republicans dump their #3 leader and openly declare that loyalty to Trump is the issue. That tends to influence your down party tickets in every state. In case you're really not following this, Trump is going to talk constantly about 2020, he has no further platform or agenda, and it is a cult of personality. It's really not a stretch to say the camps have split around a single issue: was Donald Trump cheated out of the election? Even Republicans who don't believe that are afraid to say so in public. That's pretty creepy. What you just stated above is exactly what Liz Cheney was saying. But you also chose to talk s#!t about Liz Cheney, as if she's yet another of your non-factors. By your own definition, Donald Trump is useless going forward. Pick a lane.

  36. If the offense improves, the defense will automatically improve. They won't be on the field as much, give our better players more rest, and the opponent will become more predictable in their schemes. I'm not saying the defense hasn't improved, but if the offense can be somewhat better, we will see an even better defense.
