Uh oh, we in trouble now. North Korea warns of "super mighty" strike on US that will reduce us to ashes. Better make sure your Will is in order.

Guise...I smoked a bone in 45 day aged prime rib roast today. It turned out amazing.

@ZRod I think it was about 5.5 hours. The thermometers on my home built smoker aren’t very reliable but I think the smoker temp was kept about 180 to 200. For Christmas I got a Thermopen MK4 thermometer. That thing is the sh#t, I can’t recommend it highly enough. Instant read and 1/2 a degree accuracy. I’ve been relying on it and pretty much ignoring cook time. 130 and it was medium rare. It’s really handy for cooking chicken since getting it to 170 is critical for food safety. No more dried out over cooked chicken or pink that needs to go back. I still prefer eating undercooked medium hamburgers but my wife has to have hers done so it’s handy for grilling just about everthing. I learned about them on AmazingRibs.com. Everyone should have one.

WTAF with these ads again? The bottom banner ad completely obscures any post or status I try to type. Who's bright idea was this?

@ladyhawke I tried DuckDuckGo and didn't like it. It would not allow me to change to desktop view on my Android phone and I hate the mobile version of this site. It may very well block ads and tracking but it doesn't allow using the site the way I'm accustomed.

Who knows anything about flood insurance? I'm thinking of buying a policy today, and then cancelling it in a month. Can that be done?
-
LOL. "what do you think?". "what kind of question is that?"

Sirrin at Roosters (where men can be men) waitin to get my haircut. Feel like changin it up. Any suggestions for a new do, you guys?

Does anyone have anything good to say about big cities on the east coast or in the new england upper northeast area? I can't recall ever hearing a single compliment yet millions live there.
-
I fully understand people being cautiously optimistic and maybe even still doubtful but, you guys, that was a different feeling today than the recent past. Weak FAU or not, we had our sh#t together. I liked it, a lot.

Pretty proud of my daughter. 4.25 GPA first semester (9th grade) of high school. straight A's with 2 AP classes (Stats and Human Geography). Sorry had to go brag somewhere

Pretty excited you guise. Saw a rare post or two from none other than sd'sker today.

Guise, I need ideas for what to get the old ball and chain. 30th anniversary coming up in a few days and I'm coming up with nothing.

I don't follow recruiting too closely usually but has it been particularly dead around here lately? Seems like next to nothing is happening. Kind of concerning?

Hey ZRod- They're going to outlaw rolling coal in Colorado. I'm so happy.

A bit strange being back in Huskerland. I forgot the year round preoccupation of the media with Husker football. I mean I knew it still existed but I just really hadn’t experienced it firsthand without actively searching for it here on HB.

I'm going to make a statement that some may take offense with or accuse me of stereotyping. I'm not concerned because I know it to be 100% true.
-
Hypothetical question- If I told you we would continue to win 9 games every year but each year we would get blown out twice and would drop one to an inferior opponent....would you lock that situation in long term and be happy about it?
-
I'm about fed up with some posters wanting to avoid certain bowl matchups because we would probably lose. Many of these people have either argued that we're not mediocre or that they are fed up with people accepting mediocrity. Time to walk the talk some of you.

Sorry, didn't mean to ruin anyones day. My point was that we are fairly mediocre but I'm tired of needing to cater to that fact. If we get blown out, so be it. Maybe enough times will be the catalyst for a consensus for change. We can't play the sisters of the blind every week and keep thinking we're not mediocre. We've got as good of a chance against Georgia as we do anyone else.

The 'bees has it goin' on you guys. The ball & chain had bunko tonight so I took the daughter out for some bold flavors. App trio with brew pub pretzels and beer cheese sauce, cheeburger sliders, and chicken wonton tacos, really a full spread you guys. Took it completely out of bounds and split a riblet basket. Wanted to go for the warm pecan blondie but we just couldn't handle it.

Thank you Kenny Bell and thank you Bo Pelini. I have never, ever before wanted to see the Huskers lose a game. Never. But after your recent comments and cluelessness I find myself

My ignore list is getting fairly impressive quickly. Prior to Pelini dimissal I had never used that function. Now my ignore list is a virtual who's who of idiots.

Just got done installing a whole house water filtration system. Kind of a pain in the arse, lots of copper piping. But it's done and seems to be working good.

Quick question for you graphics/computer oriented people. Is there a simple program/feature built into Windows that will allow me to take a jpg photo and add arrows and/or text onto it? I've never messed around with pics that much.

The Applebee's is a pretty good place IMO you guise.

Does UNL make a personal phone call to all potential out of state students who submit their SAT scores to them or would that indicate a little higher level of interest?
