Plus I will add, after LP was gone TO still was in contact with him and continued to try to help and support him even when there was no benefit for the football program. That tells me a lot about Tom. I think it was a very hard decision for TO at the time and it was driven more by what would help LP than by what would help NU football. Even if it obviously ended up being the wrong way to handle it, as TO admits now 

@HuskerNBigD What about the gun...? I don't think TO handled that the right way at all and what should've happened is much more cut and dried than in the LP situation. Look, I'm not claiming TO was any kind of saint but I do think a lot of people misrepresent or don't really understand the LP thing. It was not a win at all costs wild west environment but there may have been a few things that flirted with or stepped over that line. That should shock no one considering what our team accomplished in the 90's and virtually every team that has ever attained that level of success. Plus, when you're that good, the scrutiny gets turned way up. It doesn't mean questionable things aren't happening everywhere, just that there is no reason to look at a .500 level team or coach.

I think the people that voted for him for the wrong reasons are going to be highly disappointed. And the people who feared his election will be somewhat relieved. Just IMO, I could be in for a rude awakening.

I don't think that is a trivial element of his support, and I think it's undeniable that it has been awakened. I also don't expect their hopes to be delivered. I'm worried about what happens when it does not.

And also about how much pressure Trump is under to continue catering to them with a wink and a nod. Because a POTUS that relies on and responds to those forces, that's a future I don't want to see.

Currently 9000+ miles, and 14 time zones away from mine. In Malaysia she is in NE, I've been gone since 20-Jan and might get home in time for Patties day. I travel A LOT, most years I'm gone for 7+ months. Its hard but we use Facetime, Skype etc to stay in touch. On occasion I have flown her to where I am, but this rarely happens, most of the time I am offshore. On the upside when I am home, its kind of like when we were first dating. I hate to play the devils advocate but I would terminate the relationship. I don't have the mental fortitude to stay committed to someone that is so far away. Then again your willpower might be stronger than mine. Just does not seem like a good idea from my perspective.

I agree with zoogs tbh - when Bo was either underneath or surrounded by good coaches, nobody had a better defensive mind in the game, which isn't excusing the poor performances under his watch as head coach, but also doesn't diminish his accomplishments as a DC - every good DC has good support.

There's just as many 'facts' in support of his defensive coaching ability as there are against it. The negative ones just stand out more.

Bama has one of the easiest schedules in the SEC. The only real speedbump they have is LSU. If they lose that game, they still find their way to the BCS-NC (2012). In 5 years, we won 4 Conference Championships, 4 NC game appearances, 3 NC Titles and 1 Orangle Bowl Victory. 60-3 at that.

Go a year without a loss (at home even) and win the next NC and I'll give it to them. They are a great team thats put together a rare run, but not as good as the Huskers 90"s yet.

Or beat a Bowl team on their own turf
