He very well could be. I was just pointing out the 6 week or 8 week games.

Nope Howard had Iowa at 3.

  3. Minnesota game on 10/10 is a 2:30 kick, TV to be determined after this week (ABC/ESPN/ESPN2).

I agree with 5-1, but the scary thing is 1-5 is just as equally possible. Just hold on and enjoy the ride.

If we go 5-1 I bet we beat Michigan St. and lose to Rutgers or Purdue. Isn't it about time that we finally score a big upset.

One was an outspoken Pelini guy who wasn't playing and the other came in out of shape and thinking he was extra special aND deserved play time. I think we'll survive.

90 minute pre-game show from a campus. First few weeks are already decided as far as locations, and they'll have 10 of them total this year. Also announced a slew of other new shows.

Terrible news. I think it was something to do with  his lungs? Thought I seen that mentioned on Twitter.

    3. knapplc

      knapplc

He said he had blood clots on his lungs, which is super unusual, but the way he was talking as recently as yesterday, he wasn't too concerned about it.  Terrible, shocking news to find out this morning that he had passed.

    4. VectorVictor

      VectorVictor

My father had a quadruple bypass, tried to take time off to rest (though his bosses at his job kept pestering him and made him even come in a week or so after he went to the hospital), and sure enough, a blood clot found its way to his aorta, and he was gone in a few minutes (I think they call this a Widowmaker Heart Attack).

It's a real blow to the stomach when the prognosis looks rather good, and then something like this happens. But it sounds Mr. Towle was also working from the hospital bed, and sometimes the best thing one can do is know when to lay low and rest up...but for some personalities, that's almost asking the impossible. :(

  9. Ed Cunningham resigns from ESPN, citing discomfort of seeing brain trauma inflicted on field. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2017/08/30/sports/espn-ed-cunningham-football-concussions.html?referer=https://t.co/lHRHEWUGFm?amp=1

I believe this status update is targeting. And all these comments, well they're targeting too. In fact, everything is targeting ... and leading with the head.

Hopefully Ed stays away from all contact sports.  At least we know now why he was so overly preoccupied with TARGETING

  10. Scott Frost has UCF up 37-10 at the half on FIU and Butch Davis. They are substantially better than last year and the offense has been rolling.

Interesting. With 3 noncons per year, this is a middle of the road type team I'd like to see. Schedule a cupcake (Akron, for example) and a power (Oklahoma) and you have a perfect out of conference schedule.
