  1. Why didn't ABC do the Disney Sing-a-long thing live...with a donation tally running on the side of the screen with all the cash going to help people out and you could have dudes like Mark Cuban use his Venmo and shoot in like 10,000 dollars and stuff like that.  Would have made crazy scratch.

One of the more interesting things about all this is going to be the aftermath.  How does society change?  I could see a situation where society is opened back up, but at least for a period of time some people don't have a desire or feel comfortable in big crowds like game days.  Some people will run out as fast as they can do do those things.  Others won't.  That could affect some people's jobs.

For DirectTV I first contacted them on Twitter...then I DM'ed them...they gave me a number and ext.  I called and they already knew it was me and went right with a "Oh we have a new promotion, you can keep everything you currently have and we will knock your bill down to 44 a month"

Historical - Not sure if that's technically the term.  But, 1917 is a prime example.  GREAT movie.  Not necessarily non-fiction, but it's based on true events.

Comedy - but my tolerance for stupid humor (Dumb and Dummer type movies) has gone down as I've gotten older.

Tangent:  I used to have a roommate from China.  I got some cottage cheese one day and put it in the fridge.  The next morning I came downstairs to find him at the table eating a cottage cheese sandwich for breakfast.  Apparently he'd never had cottage cheese before.  He thought it was some kind of sandwich spread.  // I sorta want to try it.  But I just can't bring myself to make a cottage cheese sandwich.

I played 9 solo last week at Indian Creek (Elkhorn). They have the cups pulled 2" above ground, so you just hit the cup and call it good. You don't have to touch anything but your own clubs/ball. It was enjoyable, especially just getting out of the house, fresh air, sunshine, etc.

I don't have any crazy quitting stories, but I did have a funny "firing" story (Teach knows this story).  I was doing some temp accounting work for a company which makes candles outside Chicago (think Yankee Candle, but not quite as successful).  My "boss" was a douchy guy who had an earring and thought he was hot s#!t because he was the lead accounting/finance guy at this place.  After being there 2-3, and not getting much work to do, the guy let me go on a Friday morning.  He said he was mad at me for not asking to do more work, even though I thought that his job was to give me stuff to work on.  On my way home, the temp company called me and they were upset with me.  They said the "boss" called me lazy and I stole a bunch of candles from their warehouse.  I changed my name of my fantasy baseball team to Lazy Candle Stealer that season.

I had a job once where my mentor was supposed to get me up to speed on some tasks.  I'd had a similar job for nearly 3 years so it wasn't like I was starting at ground zero.  But the mentor would have me do the same task over and over, making a few small changes each time.  Sometimes keeping me there until 8:00 or 9:00 pm doing this crap because he'd make more money putting in the extra hours.  I kept the revisions for a couple of tasks, and showed our boss what he'd been doing.  You could see that the second revision was substantially the same as the seventh revision.  I did this because I knew s#!t would hit the fan when they tallied up my meager work throughput.  Sure enough, a couple weeks later the boss called me into his office.  He told me that I wasn't getting enough work done, so I'd have to put in more hours.  I told him that not only was I not going to put in more hours, but I wasn't going to put in any hours.  I quit right there on the spot.   (I landed a job at a much better place about three weeks later.)

Several years later I worked for a company that could have sent a great deal of work to that first place.  Needless to say, they never got a nickel's worth of business from us, or from any company I've worked for since.

    4. JJ Husker

Many years ago I was working at a job that often needed working on weekend hours. I was basically in charge of one crew and a buddy of mine was in charge of the other. We had been there a few years and had it arranged to where we would each take off alternate weekends and still get all the work done. Well.....the company brought in a new guy over us and he had this wise idea that everyone was going to work 6 on and 2 off. That is a 8 day week so naturally your two days off would keep slipping back one day per week. I didn’t like the idea of days off being different every week and working so many weekends in a row but the new guy was trying to sell it by telling us we would get a 4 day mini vacation every 8 weeks. Anyway, I told him I thought it sucked and that he would receive my notice the day he announced that would actually happen. Of course he didn’t believe me. Well the day came and he said that’s the way it was going. I told him I’d already given him my notice, quit, wished him luck then I walked out and never went back.

I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card and they are offering a full year of Premium Doordash for all 'DashPass' restaurants, which essentially means you don't have to page the usage fee; you just pay for the food + tax and then a tip for the driver.

DoorDash has also added TONS of restaurants to the DashPass in the last few days because of the coronavirus. The service is currently defaulted to 'no contact delivery' so they drop it off at the door and text you through the app saying it's there. So far, I've been really pleased.

If you don't have a Chase card, paying for the premium service for the next couple of months may be worth it if you want to use it more than 3+ times. I think it's about $10/month for premium.

I started binge watching during season 3 being on TV.  Once I had caught up I started reading the comics.

Well, the comic ended last year.  The show deviated from the comic so poorly that it cannot survive.  The show show botched All Out War so badly that I essentially stopped watching a few episodes into the following season.  I'll catch up at some point but wow did they mess that up, so I had very little faith they would do justice to the Whisperers.  Sounds like I was right.

At an old job, co-workers and I would have a monthly game, my boss and a lot of mid and upper management and me, a direct report at the time.  Not a hug buy in for them, for me at the time it was a decent one, played one table tourneys and we'll play multiple a night.   First game, first hand, I get AK in the hole.   Flop comes A-K-7.   I bet a decent bet and get an immediate call and the other 5 fold.  So now it's heads up.   Next card, a dead card, can't remember what it is.   River card comes, another king.  So I'm sitting full house, Kings over aces.  I go all in, guy calls right away.  Flip my hand start going to collect my chips, he flips his hand.  He had A-A in the hole.  He wins with a full house Aces over kings.  Had to sit and stew for an hour and half waiting for them to finish the game

I don’t have a bad beat that I can think of in a loss, but we played almost daily in high school and one friend we invited to the table lost bad so we kept inviting him back and he would continue to lose a lot of money. We would invite him and he kept coming back to the games, but then eventually that s.o.b. hung around so much he would catch the river or runner-runner so often that bad beats was renamed to “getting Chad’d.” Effin Chads, man lol. That guy lived on the river and ended up winning so often.
